Description

Program

It's the simple and safe kite that boosts progression coming out of your kite lessons and quickly takes you to a good level in freeriding.

Presentation

The Display is our most accessible, and most predictable kite. Thanks to a plain and simple bar feel, you'll quickly find your bearings for maximum enjoyment.

What we love about this kite is that it does everything well. Very stable, you're relaxed with the kite on the top edge of the wind window. Low ratio, it relaunches easily. Powerful, there's no need to overpower for fun. Big depower, you feel safe in high wind conditions.

The comfort of its usable wind range, its direct feel, and its flight stability make it the best kite for progression. The Display will easily set itself to optimize your reaches. It's so reliable that you can quickly think about other things than just looking at it: transitions, tricks, surfing, etc...

Adaptable, it will have you sending your first jumps and much more... Clearly, it's the kite that does everything so well that high-level riders love it for traveling light with a kite that delivers +++.

Freeride is the program that suits it best, but it will also push you towards waves, foiling, and tricks.

Durable Construction.

Our kites are built with the best materials available for a kite, using Dacron.

Our decades-long experience in kite making, along with all the advancements made in wing technology, have enabled us to push the performance of our kites to unprecedented levels.

The Dacron DP 175LL, combined with seams tested on a bench, provides the best in terms of rigidity and material resistance for the leading edge in Dacron.

The proven triple ripstop fabric offers perfect longevity and resistance with an ultra-lightweight of 55g/m2.

Strategically placed reinforcements ensure the durability of your equipment:

  • Insigna on the leading edge in areas prone to friction.
  • Tips reinforced with Dacron DP175LL and Nylon 1680D on the last sections of the leading edge.
  • Trailing edge in Dacron DP175LL to resist flapping over time.

Kite Display technology

Our kites are crafted in one of the two largest kite factories in the world, adhering to the quality standards of the finest kites.

They are meticulously constructed. Panels are cut using CNC machines and fully assembled by the industry's top craftsmen.

The materials we use for our kites are among the most premium available. While we prioritize performance, we also value durability and therefore choose materials with proven track records:

  • Leading edge and battens made of DP175LL Dacron, extremely rigid and durable.
  • Anti-flap trailing edge belt in DP175LL Dacron.
  • Premium triple Ripstop fabric to prevent tear propagation.
  • Insigna reinforcements on the leading edge.
  • 1680D nylon tip savers against ground abrasion.
  • Bridles made of LIROS, ROBLINE, or COUSIN Dyneema.
  • 100% removable bridles for easy replacement of wear parts.
  • A4 stainless steel friction rings that neither jam nor wear out.
  • One Pump system for quick inflation and deflation (the clamps are not mounted on the kite; they are supplied in the repair kit included in your kite bag).
  • Micro battens made of fiberglass on the trailing edge of the tips: lightweight and effective against wear.

Technical sheet

Kite Display - 9 m² NAVY Second Hand 13126 9 m² / NAVY

Fiche technique :

Buying guide

For whom?

From progressing kiteboarders to experienced practitioners looking for an all-around kite without hassle. The Display is the perfect model thanks to its versatility and simplicity.

For what?

The Display is the freeride kite for progression! Its significant power, coupled with great depower, is a delight for long, relaxed rides. Its maneuverability and ultra-healthy bar feeling are excellent for wave riding. Thanks to its stability and excellent bar feedback, it also allows you to unleash in freestyle. Especially with its ultra-fast relaunch, you'll no longer have any stress or hindrance to progression.

Understanding our kite range:

Display : the freeride kite for rapid progression.

Vertigo : high-performance kite for all disciplines from unhooked to surfing.

Ayto : the ultimate 5-strut kite for big air and kite loops.

Unik : lightweight mono-strut freeride kite for light wind, foiling, and waves.

Strutless : super light kite for light wind and freeride/freerace.

Strutless Revo : ultra-light and maneuverable kite for foiling and surfing.

Elips : the ultimate kite for waves.

What size?

The Display, with its low aspect ratio and powerful profile, is a kite that you don't need to overpower to have fun.

Choose your kite following our recommendations below. Wind ranges always depend on your weight, skill level, and the board you're riding!

Bar Size:

Keep in mind that the longer your bar, the easier it will be to turn your kite. Also, remember that the smaller the kite, the easier it will turn. So, the smaller the kite, the more you need a smaller bar to balance behaviors.

Conversely, the larger your kite and the more you use it in light wind, the slower it will be. A longer bar will have a greater leverage effect to compensate for this natural loss of reactivity.

Therefore, consider these parameters to choose the size of your bar and adapt the steering to the feeling you like and the conditions encountered.

If you want smooth and progressive steering, then you should “undersize” the bar. If you want more reactive but less forgiving steering, you should choose a longer bar.

For example, if I want smoother steering with my 9m2, then I will go for a 46cm bar.

If I want hyper-reactive steering, then I would go for the 52cm bar.

Oversizing the bar will have little interest and paradoxically will result in a feeling of heaviness in steering in the case of the 62cm. This one will be perfect, even essential in light wind. But in stronger winds, it will be slower to untwist and manipulate.

Between the 46 and the 52, there is no sensation of heaviness. These are two very close bars.

Note also that the 52 is perfectly usable on all our kites. No kite will not work or perform poorly for this reason. The 46, 57 and 62 are just optimizations for perfectionists.

It should also be noted that two bars generally age only half as fast as a single bar for the whole quiver ?

The key size is 52cm; it is the most versatile bar that you should choose if you want to have only one bar for a quiver 7-9-12 or 8-11 or even 8-10-13. If you want to add a second bar to your quiver, here are our recommendations with GONG kites:

The recommendations below are based on the behavior of GONG kites. Since our bars are compatible with a large number of kites, you can adjust your choice according to the type of kite used.

Line Length:

Your Feel-X bar comes standard with 80cm front lines, 19m of lines, and 3m extensions already mounted. The original setup is the most versatile and will be your best choice for 90% of your sessions.

One of the main advantages of the Feel-X bar is its great tolerance provided by its shape. By playing with its lengths, or even modifying them with our extensions (sold separately), you further enhance its versatility!

  • 22m Lines:
The "standard" length provides a more progressive and predictable bar feeling (recommended setting for progressing kiters). Your flight window will be larger, offering more power at takeoff. This is the setting to favor in light to medium wind conditions, and for everyday freeride use.
  • 19m Lines:
Shorter lines offer a more direct response from the kite, increasing its reactivity. The flight window will be shorter. This is the perfect setting for advanced kiters, especially for wave riding or foil for more agility. If you choose to ride with shorter lines, you will also gain comfort in high wind conditions.

Note that 22m and 19m are not extreme line lengths and remain a fine adjustment to your piloting sensation.
