Overview
A bag is an essential accessory when traveling with your kiteboard in search of new spots. The high-quality board bags we offer allow you to take good care of your board and keep it for a long time without scratching or damaging it.
For what?
Protecting your board is essential when transporting it, whether by bike, car or plane on a kite trip.
There are a multitude of solutions, depending on your needs and budget. You'll always choose a cover based on the length of your board and its shape.
If the primary function of a cover is to protect your board from impact and sunlight, it also makes it easier to handle, as you'll find it much easier to carry by hand, slung over your shoulder or simply hoisted onto the roof rack of your car.At GONG, we offer covers to suit all shapes, whether shortboard, mid-length or longboard.
We also offer a wide range of very similar sizes, so that these covers can be adapted to the GONG board catalog, as well as to those of other brands.
If you're in any doubt, you'll find the inside dimensions on each cover sheet, so you can easily compare them with those of your board.
How to Maintain Your Boardbag
Sand, salt, and moisture clog and corrode zippers—the main cause of boardbag failure.
To extend your cover’s lifespan, we recommend rinsing the zipper regularly with fresh water, even if it's salt-resistant. The same care should be given to wetsuit zippers.
You can also use Zip Care on your zippers. This maintenance product is perfect for plastic and metal zippers. Its unique brush applicator allows you to apply the product between the zipper teeth and physically remove dirt, salt residue, and dust.
A must-have to stay watertight in all conditions!
How to Choose the Right Surf foil boardbag?
Choosing the best cover for your board depends on several criteria:
- Construction and padding: thicker padding for serious trips with higher risk.
- Outline compatibility: pick a cover whose outline matches your board’s shape.
- Size: choose a cover equal to or slightly larger than your board.
For better protection during travel, it’s safer to choose a cover that's slightly larger than too small. This allows room to add extra padding or accessories at the board's ends for additional protection.
For example, you can wrap a wetsuit or even a poncho around the nose and tail—areas that are highly exposed to impacts.
On the other hand, an overly large cover may fail to protect properly. The board shouldn’t move inside; the nose and tail need to stay aligned with the reinforcements.
