NEWS: WELCOME TO THE TEAM JULIEN!

The GONG team is expanding with the arrival of Julien Rattotti, a specialist in wingfoil racing!

The 21-year-old French athlete, hailing from the southeast of France where he discovered wingfoiling, will be competing in the upcoming Surf-Slalom events organized by the GWA (Global Wingsports Association) on top-notch equipment. During his recent visit to the GONG Space Center, we had the opportunity to gather a few words from our new team rider, Julien Rattotti.

Where do you live?

I live in La Baule, and I sail in the bay at Pornichet.

Tell us about your beginnings.

I started sailing at the age of 5 in an Optimist, and then at 6 years old, I started windsurfing.

What other sports do you practice?

I practice surfing, skiing, kiteboarding, windsurfing, tennis, and all sports that exist…

You have just joined the GONG team and spent some time at the GONG Space Center with the team. What are your impressions?

First of all, the GONG team is incredibly close-knit, and everyone works hand in hand with a family spirit. The welcome was warm and friendly. At the GONG Space Center, the organization is precise, and the store and restaurant are truly magnificent. The atmosphere is pleasant, making the working environment very enjoyable.

What are your competition results?

• 5th place at the IWSA European Championship (Wingfoil Racing Tour)
• 4th place at the Défi Wing
• 6th place at the IWSA World Cup (Wingfoil Racing Tour)

Which GWA competitions will you participate in under the GONG colors?

I will participate in the GWA Freefly-Slalom and I’m looking forward to getting into the Wave tour.

Are you a full-time athlete or do you have another job?

No, I’m not a full-time athlete. Currently, I work as an online technical advisor at GONG. However, my schedule is organized in a way that allows me to balance my professional activities, competitions, and training, which are all very important in my daily life.
