The durability of our boards is a top priority. They are designed to withstand the important constraints that come with an intensive use, whether in radical tricks with the Lethal or the Lance of your debut! To absorb the repeated shocks of a session without flinching, a board has to rely on “sandwich” technology. This is essential.

As the name suggests, the sandwich tech is an overlay of layers with a core material in the center. The foam blank of our Techno Wood 2X, FSP 2X and FSP Pro boards is covered with an envelope, the sandwich, composed schematically as follows: fiber layers / core material / fiber layers. It is the presence of this core material around the entire board (=full sandwich) and the multiple layers of fiber that give our boards an absolute solidity which is unfortunately not the norm on the market.

The big asset of the sandwich tech, which is made under vacuum to optimize the quantity of resin used and therefore the weight of the board, is an incomparable rigidity and a very high mechanical resistance, especially in compression. Additionally, the PVC core material on our FSP Pro and FSP 2X boards is hydrophobic. It therefore constitutes a protective layer if your fiber is badly damaged by rocks for instance. The foam blank does not deteriorate because it is totally protected from water.

Sandwich technologies are easily repairable to new in the event of a ding. Repairs have much more support to lean on and blend perfectly with the surrounding material. Illustration of the FSP 2X full sandwich PVC tech on a Lance:
