Wingfoil Board Inflatable HIPE Learn
Program
The super easy inflatable wing and lowkite board for off the foil sailing and learning to fly without pressure!
Presentation
The HIPE Learn is the board that lets you get into foiling with zero stress, progressing step by step.
Its concept is unique in the range: with the Learn, you can genuinely ride flat, move forward, and go upwind without needing to fly. It behaves like a board with a centerboard. The immediate result is simple: the pressure disappears. You can take the time to learn wing handling, stance, and board control first, then move toward flight when you choose. Or simply cruise comfortably in light wind.
This approach changes everything for true beginners. In wing foiling as in lowkite, confidence is the key: when you’re not afraid of falling, you learn faster, you understand more, and you dare to try. The HIPE Learn is built for that: stable, predictable, and efficient for what you need, it allows you to start with no technical background.
Progression stays straightforward. The Learn can be set up either with a centerboard, or with a foil, depending on your level. The composite plate is designed for both configurations, so you can learn in the right order: first, control the wing and ride; then, fly. One step at a time, without skipping stages.
For 2026, the major upgrade is on the deck: the strap inserts are now fully flush with the deck pad. No more bumps under your feet. Lying down, kneeling, or standing, you only feel the board. The contact becomes direct, comfort is total, and it’s especially appreciated when riding strapless or without a rear strap, because you can place your feet naturally and find your stance without any constraint.
The three rear-strap positions let you fine-tune your stance and strap width with precision. It’s easy to find the right balance between comfort and performance to progress cleanly, at your own pace.
These qualities make it an excellent sailing club board, but also a perfect solution for anyone who wants to learn without rushing, or simply enjoy relaxed wing cruising in light wind. With its generous shapes, it’s also very well suited for learning how to SUP foil.
Like all HIPE boards in the GONG range, the Learn delivers a feel very close to a hard board on the water while keeping the real advantages of inflatable construction: safety, confidence, and forgiveness in the early stages, exactly when you most need impact absorption and stress-free progression.
6’5, A COMPACT AND EASY SHAPE
The shape of the HIPE Learn 6’5 is designed to make learning easier.
The overall width is important, from tail to nose, so that the Learn 6’5 is stable despite its limited length. And this is the essential character of this Learn: very easy without being too bulky.
The centered max width gives a lot of versatility and erases errors because it’s placed where a beginner needs it.
The wide square tail, but not excessively, provides a lot of front/rear stability to accept the placement errors of a beginner. It avoids tumbling in choppy water.
The very wide round nose prevents sinking, without pushing too much water. It’s a perfect compromise between balance and glide.
The rocker placed under the wide nose prevents the board from sticking to the water. It will be more forgiving in the touches in flight to restart without falling. This absence of sanction makes you more serene and will make you progress even faster…
Designed to navigate easily on the water thanks to the ADS system before take-off is mastered, it allows you to cruise around peacefully to fully understand how to handle the wing. The centerboard/foil switch is super easy and can allow you to change in minutes even during your session.
8’0, A STREAMLINED AND ACCESSIBLE SHAPE
The HIPE Learn 8'0 is designed to start with minimal resistance.
Its sleek outline boosts its speed on the water, both when not foiling and before takeoff. This Learn 8'0 offers unparalleled glide on the water. You're stable and fast effortlessly.
Its thin tail seems to generate no drag. It's amazing when you see it go by. Like a race board in stand-up paddleboarding, it glides across the water. And as soon as you want to take off, the board accelerates and flies.
Its nose point glides through the water like a beautiful bow. The sensation is pleasant, even in choppy conditions. The board glides until it generates enough speed for the foil to take off.
Its generally low rocker profile promotes speed. And its narrow nose forgives minor touches.
Designed for easy navigation on the water thanks to the ADS system, even before mastering takeoff, it allows you to cruise around at your own pace to fully understand wing and lowkite handling. Switching between fins and foils is incredibly easy and ultra-intuitive with the SCS, allowing you to change in minutes, even during your session.
ROCKER
Thanks to a tight rocker, both shapes offer optimized glide. Acceleration is smooth and easy, making it perfect for light winds, first sessions, and effortless first flights.
Deck
Regardless of the shape, the deck of the HIPE Learn is flat and wide.
Its pad covers the entire usable surface. Even more covering, with greater width, it allows you to move around calmly and comfortably on your knees and standing.
With the new inserts concealed in the pad, your feet are free when you're riding strapless. They will naturally slide into the straps when you want them to.
Rails
Like all inflatable boards, the rails are round. But we’ve optimized this natural shape to let water slip effortlessly along the board, preventing drag.

For whom?
For beginners and clubs, this is THE board for a stress-free experience. It's incredibly easy to use, multi-sport, while remaining highly effective for learning to ride and feeling comfortable from the very first sessions.
Its role is to make your life easier. It's true that more experienced riders might find it too tame, but it will delight thousands of riders looking for their first thrills and simplicity.
The HIPE Learn has everything you need for beginner foiling: lightness, durability, well-chosen accessories, and versatility with SUP foiling. No need to be in top physical condition or have a specific build, the HIPE Learn is for EVERYONE!
For what?
The HIPE Learn is the simplest and most effective board for beginners to get started without overcomplicating things and progressing quickly. Flat water and small conditions (around 10 knots) are ideal for its use and for making your first flights.
This is really the most suitable board for beginners thanks to its volume which offers great stability, so it is accessible for all body types.
Whether sailing on the water or flying, it's great for boosting your progress.
Which HIPE should I start with?
If you want to get started easily without using the foil, then HIPE Learn is for you.
If you want to start out and only sail strapless, then the HIPE First is for you.
On an inland body of water with a bit of balance, it's the HIPE Like.
If you want to start out and have the most progressive board possible, it's the HIPE Perf.
The following news will give you all the keys to understanding between HIPE to get started.
For those in a hurry, here's a summary:
What size?
New to wing foiling? Both shapes of the HIPE Learn are perfect for you. So which one should you choose?
These two HIPEs have very similar volumes, between 170 L and 185 L.
The real difference lies in the glide before the flight and the agility in the air:
The 6'5 will be more responsive, with less inertia, therefore more sporty and modern in its approach because it is a small board in an XXL version.
The 8'0 is the one that will save you from pumping because it glides effortlessly. More stable in the air, very smooth, and relatively fast on the water, it's the one that will give you the most enjoyment before you even take to the water. And it will also be the least physically demanding.
Do you want to be one step ahead for windless days and are you thinking of trying SUP foiling?
The compact shape of the 6'5 is ideal for beginners and will accompany you right up to your first great SUP foil waves. Its biggest advantage is paddling without the constant instability of a pro board. It retains the characteristics described for wing foiling, but with even greater responsiveness.
The 8'0' length allows for easier acceleration on takeoff and also offers greater stability in flight. It's the easiest board in the HIPE Learn range for getting started with SUP foiling.
Which quiver?
The HIPE Learn is the perfect wingboard for beginners. It's THE introductory board in the HIPE range that will definitely ignite your passion for our sport.
You should of course complement it with a range of SUPs without foils, surfboards for days when the waves are there, etc… to enjoy every possible session.
Which shape should I choose?
The concepts behind each inflatable board in our range can be summarized very simply:
- HIPE FIRST: the perfect inflatable foil board for beginners and progression, strapless.
- HIPE LIKE: the alternative to the HIPE First designed to take off early and remain easy.
- HIPE LEARN: the inflatable for learning: flat on the water, first flights and SUP foil compatible.
- HIPE PERF: the inflatable with 95% of the performance of the rigid in an easy and progressive shape.
- HIPE CRUZADER: the inflatable “downwinder” for the highest performance in Wing in lightwind, lowkite and obviously in DW.
- HIPE DIAMOND: the mid-length board with the glide of a downwinder and the agility of a compact board.
- HIPE FREEFLY: the ultimate in strapless inflatable foil boarding.
- HIPE PRO: the inflatable board for scoring in surfing / freestyle.
Which foil wings?
For the quickest progression in the V3 Perf Series range, beginners should opt for an XL front wing (suitable for riders between 50kg and 90kg) paired with a 45cm stabilizer. If you weigh over 90kg, an XXL front wing will help you take off even earlier.
Find more details in our article on the V3 foil lineup.
For winging:
If you're hesitant, start with the X-Over.
If you have some experience in board sports, go for the Ascent.
If you're naturally skilled, begin with the Curve H.
For beginners:
In the X-Over range: ultra-easy and efficient wings at low speed for an effortless start:
- M for 50kg to 65kg riders, suitable for all wind conditions.
- L for 65kg to 75kg riders, suitable for all wind conditions.
- XL for 75kg to 85kg riders, suitable for all wind conditions.
- XXL for 85kg and above or winds below 15 knots.
The Ascent range is more demanding for beginners but will support you further in your progression. Here's how to choose your size:
- S – For riders under 65kg, suitable for all wind conditions.
- M – For 65kg to 75kg, suitable for all wind conditions.
- L – For 75kg to 85kg, suitable for all wind conditions.
- XL – For 85kg to 95kg, suitable for all wind conditions.
- XXL – For 95kg+ or in winds below 15 knots.
The front wing size determines the balance between speed and lift. A smaller wing allows for higher speeds but can feel unstable at low speeds.
Stabilizers play a crucial role. They provide foil stability and contribute to lift, but at the cost of maximum speed.
Thicker stabilizers are slower but offer greater lift, making them more effective at low speeds and ensuring a smoother ride. A wider stabilizer span helps prevent loss of control but reduces maneuverability.
For SUP foiling:
If you're riding in tiny waves or have a strong build, the X-Over wing is the best starting point.
The Ascent is a solid compromise once you’ve mastered the basics.
If you're skilled, go for a Curve H wing, it's faster.
For beginners:
The X-Over range: user-friendly wings designed for smooth low-speed riding:
- L – For riders under 65kg or in powerful waves.
- XL – For 65kg to 75kg riders or softer waves.
- XXL – For 75kg+ riders or very weak waves.
The Ascent range is more demanding for beginners but will support you further in your progression. Here's how to choose your size:
- M – For riders under 65kg or in powerful waves.
- L – For 65kg to 75kg, an all-rounder.
- XL – For 75kg to 85kg or softer waves.
- XXL – For 85kg+ or very weak waves.
Which foil mast?
In wing foiling:
During your first sessions, you can reassure yourself with a short mast (62cm). Falls on the first flights will be less impressive. But apart from when launching, you will have everything to gain with a long mast (85cm and more).
More length = more headroom = easier = more efficient.
Unlike for kite foiling, when winging there is little opposition to the front wing because it pulls less. So we have less leaning angle windward of the mast. So mastering a large mast with a wing is no problem. And since the boards used are much bigger than for kite foiling, the inertia is greater. So your foil is less crazy. Everything is calmer. So don’t be afraid of a long mast
In choppy water, in transitions, in sluggish waters, a large mast will be ten times more pleasant. It will save you from touchdowns and give you the necessary height margin in all your actions.
In SUP foiling:
The 62cm aluminum mast is perfect. If you're a pro, upgrade to a 70cm carbon mast for an exceptional feel.
Positioning of the foil?
For GONG foils, place the top plate in the center of the US rails to start and move it forward a few centimeters when you get into transitions (a sign of good progress).
The more you move it forward, the more the board will pitch nose-up. The more you move it backwards, the more the board nose-dives.
Be careful not to move it too far forward. We often tend not to let their back foot work, especially when we come from kite foiling. However, moving the foil back a little, forces more weight on the back foot and gives a more harmonious attitude and reduces effort.
What paddle length?
For SUP foiling with the HIPE Cruzader, choose a paddle between your height plus 10 cm and your exact height.

Which accessories?
Safety is crucial in all board sports, and even more so with foiling.
Wing leash is a not an option. Without it, your wing can drift dozens of meters away in seconds, stopping only when it crashes into something—usually with damage.
A board leash is crucial, particularly when starting out. It keeps your board nearby, giving you a safety float and preventing it from hitting others. Opt for a 6’ leash with at least a 7mm diameter. Inspect it before each session and replace it yearly—it’s your lifeline.
For optimal safety, a helmet and an impact vest are absolute must-haves.
To enhance safety, we’ve created the Bodyguard textile range, designed to reduce the risk of foil cuts. While the danger is always there, it’s even more significant during the learning phase. We strongly advise taking every precaution possible.
Strapped or strapless? 2 or 3 straps?
Riding strapless feels cool and gives you total freedom. But honestly, performance takes a serious hit…
So, it’s up to you—do you prioritize sensation or performance?
Front straps give you better control and reduce the risk of the foil flipping under your feet. When starting out, they’re a crucial guide for foot positioning and will fast-track your progress.
Begin with only the front straps. You can attach the rear strap as a reference point and a handy grip, but avoid using it at first. Once you're fully comfortable flying, shift the foil back by 2cm to gradually get accustomed to the rear strap.
Good to know:
Never leave your board in the sun—especially an inflatable board, and even more so a black carbon plate, which heats up quickly. Excessive heat can cause delamination!
Be careful when screwing into the foil box. If you go too deep, you’ll pierce the inflatable shell. We supply closed US box inserts, but caution is key.
Never let your foil board get caught in breaking waves, especially near shore. A wave rolling your board can cause significant damage.
Equipments
SCS System
The composite plate is equipped with dual SCS (Smart Connection System) entry boxes for easy foil installation and adjustment. The double holes correspond to the stance of the holes on your GONG foil's mounting plate. The foil is presented with the squares already mounted on the plate, which slide into the rails without disassembly. Slide the foil in, tighten the four screws, and you're ready to ride.
To simplify foil assembly, our US mounting squares are connected by a carbon fiber rod and included with the board. This saves time during setup and ensures precise adjustments. No more risk of losing the squares: simply leave them screwed onto the plate and slide them into the US rails through the four insertion holes. No need to disassemble anything: just tighten the screws and you're good to go!
Adjusting the foil is also easier and more precise with the adjustment information written on the plate.
A fin instead of a foil for smooth sailing
This is the innovation of this HIPE Learn model in favor of a program focused on flat water navigation.
The ICS plate incorporates a US rail, allowing you to install a standard fin instead of your foil. Machined directly into the composite plate, this rail lets you enjoy your board without a foil for a smooth and gradual learning experience.
Enjoy a peaceful wing foiling session on the water.
A short US fin box located under the nose allows for the installation of a US fin. This Anti-Drift System (ADS) will greatly limit the natural drift of your board, saving you the hassle of carrying your gear back to the beach. Instead of walking, you'll spend more time on the water and therefore progress faster. You'll no longer have the stress of having to foil to point upwind, as your board will naturally be able to sail upwind.
For a SUP foil program, the ADS fin also helps to effectively reduce the rowing effect when paddling and especially on take-off with small boards.
It's much easier to hold a course, and the upwind advantage is noticeable on long tacks. The US system is very simple to install; just slide your fin into its housing and tighten the small hand screw provided.
Carrying handle
The handle integrated into the carbon plate on the hull significantly improves comfort when launching and carrying the boat over short distances. Furthermore, it has no impact on the rigidity and strength of our plate, which remain flawless.
Footstraps
The set of 3 footstraps is included with the board.
Developed for wing foiling , these moderately covering straps don't crease when you put them on. There's less surface area on the instep, so there's less risk of getting caught or hitting your foot on the edge of the strap when putting them on quickly. This also allows for better support downwind (balls of the foot) and therefore a more natural wing foiling stance.
Reinforced and padded , they are precise in piloting but still very comfortable .
The double V-shaped front footstrap perfectly centers the foot on the front of the board. This results in a more natural stance and allows for direct and precise control during maneuvers.
With 3 rear strap positions, you can adjust your stance to suit your riding style: comfort or commitment, YOU choose YOUR program. Without straps, the pad remains flat underfoot and you no longer feel any discomfort because the strap inserts are cleverly integrated into the pad.
Every detail has been carefully considered to enhance your experience on the water.
Full Deck Pad
The premium 5mm thick full pad provides maximum grip and comfort while sailing.
Its grooving Ridge Traction rigid boards are the best in terms of comfort but especially in terms of anti-slip to provide maximum stability and secure support when learning to sail.
Very different from the dropstitch coating of the board, you immediately feel if your foot is properly placed on the pad.
Handles
The HIPE Learn is equipped with four handles: one at the tail of the board, two on either side of the nose in the front third, and one at the nose of your board. Comfortable, extremely durable, and strong, these handles each have a specific purpose.
From the moment the equipment is prepared, they will be able to help you with handling the boards.
Once in the water, the handles on the front of the board allow you to hold it in the desired direction and facing the wind/waves without being swept away.
Ideal for organizing your equipment or holding it while listening to your instructor's valuable advice.
Compartmented carrying bag
The HIPE Learn comes in a super practical and sturdy wheeled carrying bag.
It's spacious enough to carry your HIPE, foil and wing.
It is designed for comfortable travel and without excess baggage fees on most airlines!
The large front pocket isolates the front wing and stabilizer to protect them. The backpack straps are very well padded and comfortable. The handles are super strong and comfortable.
Integrated compartments in the reverse side of the front panel allow you to securely and neatly store your foil components and screws. Compression straps reduce the bag's volume to a minimum.
Pump, screws and repair kit
The supplied dual-action rapid inflation pump is super efficient for being the first in the water.
All the screws for the straps and the top plate of the foil are supplied with the board.
A repair kit is also included in case of damage (please note that the kit does not include glue, which you can easily find at your local hardware store (PVC glue)). We also stock the components for your board so we can easily repair it. Everything on an inflatable board can be repaired.
Included equipment:
ICS carbon plate.
Ridge Traction 5mm integral deck pad: non-slip and durable deck covering.
2 non-through SCS inserts paired by a carbon fiber rod.
