Wing Plus

Program
The easy-to-use and high-performing wing to start and progress with! This is the Allround wing in our range.
Presentation
The Plus Perf 2026 is the most versatile and progressive wing in our lineup. Much more than just a beginner’s wing, it’s a true chameleon — equally at home in the first rides as it is in advancing to a solid skill level, with a focus on total versatility.
Its 2026 shape directly benefits from developments carried out on our other models. The more squared and slightly set-back wingtips improve maneuverability and perfectly position the draft. The reworked profile brings smoothness and flow, creating a wing that never surprises and always flies with comfort and precision.
By removing twist in the tips, the traction becomes perfectly clear, linear, and very pleasant. Power is steady, predictable, and error-free. This translates into intuitive handling that inspires confidence and allows you to focus solely on the ride.
The deeper profile delivers immediate power for early takeoffs, strong acceleration, and efficient relaunches — a real asset during progression phases when frequent restarts are needed, just like in freestyle. Pumping is simple, precise, smooth, and efficient. Upwind performance is excellent, and cruising across the water is effortless.
The Plus Perf 2026 is also extremely comfortable to fly: light in the hands, smooth in its reactions, never physical. Riders benefit from precise micro-adjustments without heaviness, letting you fine-tune traction to the millimeter. This ensures both comfort and performance, making long sessions fatigue-free.
Delivered with V3 semi-rigid textile handles, it’s endlessly modular. With just a few screws, you can install rigid handles for more precision, or a boom for continuous grip along the entire span. The boom allows free hand movement, easy handling in jibes or transitions, and is lighter than rigid handles. This adaptability means the wing evolves with your progression, never holding you back.
Safety is enhanced with five integrated windows, a real asset for downwind visibility and anticipating trajectories. Particularly useful for beginners, but still appreciated by experienced riders. Every detail is built to last: reinforced seams, full strapping of the strut to secure handles, trailing-edge mini-battens, reinforced bladder, and kevlar reinforcements.
In summary: the Plus Perf 2026 is a flawless wing that does it all, combining the best of our other models to deliver ultra-versatile riding. Not just a school wing, but a true progression wing you’ll keep until the moment you decide to specialize.
Z-shaped strut
The Plus retains its magical Z-shaped central strut, but with a thinner diameter.
The panels are cut perpendicular to the strut for greater strength under high pressure.
The connection with the central segments of the leading edge is solid.
The middle third is built to resist flexing in hand, as flexing here would create the major part of the canopy's opening. This ensures the wing stays even more taut, delivering increased power and precision.
Finally, the rear third of the strut is sewn directly onto the canopy without a hollow panel, which increases the strut’s thickness near the rear hand and provides greater resistance to deformation under wind pressure. The strut is thus twice as rigid, ensuring consistent shape during jumps or gusts.
The rear hand has a direct influence on the canopy's closure thanks to the positioning of the rear handle point just after the beginning of the wide cone. Pulling on the rear hand closes the strut, preventing it from opening as with traditional struts.
This setup minimizes flap and delivers remarkable power. The added rigidity enables fine control of the wing and ensures consistent behavior.
Advanced and pronounced draft
Its important draft is set forward and delivers strong power. Ideal for those who haven't perfected their pumping technique, it’s also great for not needing extra square meters to get up on the foil. The Plus, on the contrary, allows you to use a smaller, very maneuverable, enjoyable, and lighter wing. You won’t struggle to turn it around after each fall, for example. And pumping with a smaller wing is always less physically demanding.
Limited twist of tips
On the Plus 2026, as with all the new wings in the range, the basic twist has been eliminated. The draft remains perfectly locked in, and the traction point stays constant, without any unwanted movement.
Twist now only appears under the direct effect of the wind, in minimal proportions, never deforming the profile or shifting the traction. This makes the wing’s behavior perfectly predictable, clear, and firm in hand.
This locked-in feel delivers greater precision in handling, more lift in jumps, and clean traction that makes it much easier to use smaller foils and boards than before.
Thanks to modern, reliable, and stiff materials, there is no longer any need to compensate for unwanted deformations: the 3D shaping is perfectly controlled and optimized for maximum efficiency, power, and progression.
Rounded leading edge
The rounded leading edge re-centers the wing’s surface and positions traction closer to the rider. The draft locks in perfectly, making the wing more forgiving, more stable, and easier to control on every point of sail.
This geometry reduces the tip surface, making them nearly unnoticeable, which delivers greater maneuverability and an extremely light feel. Handling is smooth, progressive, and predictable: the wing feels soft in hand, with no unwanted reactions.
In case of water contact, the set-back tips reduce drag. The wing naturally rolls onto its leading edge and flips over easily, simplifying handling and saving energy — especially during the first sessions.
Strong but harmonized tensions
In 2026, we completely rethought the way canopy tension is managed. The panels now distribute forces much more evenly between the front, back, and core of the profile.
The result is a perfect balance: the leech remains tight and powerful, but without excess. The wing pulls strongly when needed, while staying comfortable and predictable. No more unwanted behavior or cavitation: the profile stays locked and easy to control, even in critical phases.
This harmonized tension distribution also improves durability, by avoiding localized over-stretching and limiting deformation. It eliminates constant flutter, while tolerating the normal, occasional flutter that appears when the wing is fully depowered in gusts. The outcome is a wing that is stable in strong winds, efficient in light winds, and pleasant to ride in all conditions.

Buying guide
For whom?
Ideal for beginners due to its easy, smooth, and predictable character, it is designed for riders who want to enjoy long freeride sessions in great comfort. Riders who have no need for an overly specialized wing for a specific discipline.
Experienced riders will appreciate it with rigid handles for its versatility, enabling them to truly take advantage of all winging programs.
The Plus wing, built for beginners but also great for experts, is ideal for discovering the sport and making fast progress.
What for?
Versatility and accessibility are the key qualities of the Plus.
Clearly, its role is to ease your first year of winging, but not only that!
Light, powerful, and easy, it has all the qualities to take you to a high level and even beyond.
It will meet all your needs because:
It is maneuverable with precise handling.
It is light, making it great for freefly and surfing.
It provides lift in jumps with its significant power.
It adjusts as the wind increases with the limited twisting of the tips.
It guarantees you’ll relaunch even if the wind drops.
An ideal wing for beginners or for those who want an allround wing!
Understanding the GONG range,
Plus: A versatile, accessible wing designed for progression.
Droid: Explosive power for surfing and freestyle.
Neutra: The fluid wing for surfing, freefly, and endless carving.
What size?
Don’t overestimate the power of wings. A rider weighing 85kg will need 15-20 knots with a 5m² wing to fly at first. After about fifteen sessions, they will be able to fly at 15 knots with a 5m². And if they are athletic, they will pump hard and lift off at 12 knots in 5m² to get through lulls at 8 knots. This is a learning process and takes time.
Which quiver?
The Plus is highly versatile and can be used with a wide variety of boards and foils:
Beginners will prefer a HIPE First, Lance, or Zuma for their stability and easy glide. An X-Over foil will be the perfect match for this wing and these boards.
Advanced riders will pair it with a Mint or Lemon for more responsiveness, using a Curve, Curve H, or Fluid foil.
Those who enjoy light wind will adore it with a Cruzader and a high-lift foil like the Sirus.
What leash?
A wing leash from 5'5" to 8' is ideal. Preferably one designed specifically for winging, and of the coiled-type leash style. A short leash makes it easier to grab the wing quickly. A long leash keeps the wing further away from foil drops in the sail, giving it more space to move.
Always check its condition before each session and replace it every year. It’s your life vest.
Don’t let your wing flap around in the wind at the end of the leash, it’s not indestructible! Also, in the waves, don’t hold onto the wing with the leash, it will break or you may injure yourself.
With or without a harness?
No harness is needed to start, quite the opposite. You’ll be doing short reaches and often getting back on the board. Using a harness places the wing in full power in front of you, with the tip close to the water. This is the best way to get catapulted if the tip catches the water and you don’t know how to react.
However, the Plus allows for significant progress, so nothing stops you from adding a harness line once you reach the level to do long tacks and extend your sessions instead of relying on your arms ;-)
Riding without a harness feels liberating as you have full freedom of movement. It’s a very pleasant feeling.
That being said, you’ll need to use a smaller wing and do shorter reaches to avoid tiring out your arms. This also means you'll have to pump frequently to take off again.
All our wings come with harness line attachments.
This gives you the option to use a harness or not.
Therefore, if you prefer to ride powered up, using a harness is almost essential if you don’t want your sessions to be cut short after an hour. Setting up the harness lines is very easy (refer to our tutorials on the forum). We suggest using the least rigid and most minimal harness, with either a small hook or a windsurf-style hook for better comfort.
Lengths of 24 to 28 cm between the strut and the V-shape’s end will be perfect.
A length of 30 to 32 cm makes learning easier. A small diameter line and a thin sheath are essential, as windsurfing lines, for example, are too heavy and rigid, making them dangerous during tacks and other tricks.
So it’s up to you to decide if the sensation and aesthetics take priority over performance. But more and more riders are using harnesses, as the trend is towards more powerful wings and higher performance.
Soft handles, semi-rigid handles, rigid handles, or boom?
The choice is yours:
Soft textile handles for beginners, for surfing, for freefly, to protect yourself and the board, and for a very light wing.
Semi-rigid textile handles for a good level of performance thanks to precise and responsive handling, as well as better energy transmission during pumping, for example.
Carbon rigid handles to keep it light and generate stronger traction. Handling is extremely precise. The pistol grip on the front handle is very comfortable and practical.
Boom for maximum power and a true “windsurf” sensation. You have the freedom to grip the wing as you wish. It allows for more tricks and a broader range of use, all while being very lightweight, contrary to what you might think.
Handles offer very compact storage in a backpack, while the boom is stored lengthwise. However, it's worth noting that you can fit just as many boom wings as handle wings in a board bag. The boom doesn’t take up more space, it just occupies it differently.
Windows or full canopy?
Wings without windows are less expensive, 200g lighter, and more compact for storage.
Wings with windows are safer, more rigid, and offer quicker responsiveness.
For beginners, a wing with windows is essential because safety takes priority over the few grams you might lose. The windows are not for sightseeing: they are designed to let you see a silhouette to prevent executing a dangerous turn that could cause a collision.

Integrated harness leash attachment system
Two discreet harness attachment points, ideally placed on the strut, allow you to connect your GONG harness line for hours of fatigue-free riding.
Semi-rigid textile Downwind handle.
Almost rigid, it greatly enhances the control of the wing in both freefly and surfing.
The new oval stitching and reinforcements on the downwind handle anchor points help distribute the forces more evenly across the leading edge, ensuring long-lasting durability.
The Dyneema leash attachment is now located on the intrados side of the DW handle, preventing the leash from getting in the way while freeflying.
A set of semi-rigid handles.
A set of semi-rigid textile handles is included with your wing. New longitudinal stitching gives them the rigidity that made our downwind handles a success.
The integrated GFS system allows you to upgrade your wing with a boom or rigid carbon handles to adapt your wing to your level or specific needs.
Quick inflation with the One Pump system
The leading edge and central strut are connected by the One Pump system for quick inflation in one go. The clip then locks the airflow between the bladders to ensure the wing’s buoyancy in case of a leak in the strut or leading edge. This feature is vital for safety.
The inflation valve on the leading edge is doubled on the strut for immediate deflation and compact storage. Using One Pump, you inflate through the leading edge only in a few seconds and deflate just as quickly by unscrewing both valves.
Fiberglass micro-battens
Micro fiberglass battens on the trailing edge: light and very effective in preventing flapping. They maintain the profile all the way to the trailing edge for optimal airflow.
Lightweight and strong, they are easily replaceable to keep your wing in top condition year after year.
Camera safety loops
To capture your wing sessions, we’ve added a discreet nylon leash attachment on each tip and near the strut to secure your camera mounted on the leading edge or strut with a Flymount, allowing you to ride without stress. The leash attachment is strategically placed so it doesn’t interfere with your camera’s field of view! You’ll be able to create stunning shots and share them without the risk of losing your camera!
Repair kit
A repair kit, including bladder patches and fabric, is included with your wing.
Carry bag
A durable and practical backpack comes with your wing. It’s perfectly designed with a large U-shaped zipper for easy storage, a ventilation grid, comfortable padding, compression straps, and straps for the pump (not provided).
Don't forget to bring a pump!

Is the Plus only a beginner wing?
The Plus is the wing with the widest performance range.
Whether you're a complete beginner, freerider, freerace enthusiast, waverider, or freeflyer, the Plus is the wing that does everything really well.
It’s a wing with moderate characteristics and a decidedly high-performance behavior that will never hold back your progression. You may one day choose another model out of a desire for specialization, but never due to a lack of performance.
Is the Plus a lightweight wing?
Light on land, light when lifting it out of the water at the start, light in neutral during freefly phases and surfing—the Plus provides a strong, direct pull while riding. Its well-balanced behavior enhances this sense of lightness.
While it’s not designed to break weight records, it still feels incredibly light in hand for a wing robust enough to handle beginners.
Which freeride wing should I choose?
Within our comprehensive range, we offer several wings tailored for Freeride. Depending on your conditions and experience, you should lean towards one model or another.
Plus: A perfect progression wing, it’s also the most versatile in the range. It excels in all programs, offering great performance in the waves with solid power for upwind and perfect balance for freefly/surf.
Droid: Surf / freestyle at the highest level with this wing, which is both a real catapult and incredibly subtle when surfing. Powerful, you can ride with very little wind, allowing you to use the smallest wing possible in the waves. Its small wingspan makes surfing easier, especially with the handles in hand.
Neutra : 100% waves, this is the most efficient wing for surfing and freefly. Light, ultra-maneuverable, and smooth, it has all the qualities of a pure surf wing.
What is the recommended inflation pressure?
The recommended pressure is shown in the table below:
Several factors should be taken into account:
An underinflated wing will be unstable and hard to control in gusty winds.
An overinflated wing increases the risk of bursting during a crash and will wear out the seams and materials faster.
If you leave your wing inflated in the sun for long periods, we suggest slightly deflating it to prevent seam fatigue.
The larger the leading edge diameter, the greater the risk of bursting. Avoid overinflating large wings.
How to maintain my wing equipment?
To extend the lifespan of your equipment, the way you use it and its regular maintenance will be crucial.
One important tip is to avoid leaving your wing inflated for long periods when not in use! The flapping of the fabric in the wind can lead to premature wear on the materials, as can prolonged exposure to UV rays.
Frequent rinsing of your wing with running water is also not recommended. The chlorine present in tap water can damage the surface treatments of your wing. Instead, it’s better to store your wing dry and remove any excess sand
In case of a punctured strut or leading edge, use your repair kit or consult our spare parts catalog to order the replacement part.
Systematically inspect the condition of your wing. Look for any holes or cuts and repair them before they worsen.
If your wing is damaged, you can get it repaired directly at the GONG workshop by reaching out to our sail loft: HERE.
