The Neutra Aramid X 2026 is the ultra-precise and rigid wing for wave riding and freefly, combining smooth glide, total control, and exceptional durability thanks to its Code 95 canopy.

Presentation

The Neutra Aramid X 2026 is the sharpest and most high-performance version of our wave wing. It embodies the pinnacle of what can be expected from a wing dedicated to wave riding and freefly: ultra-precise, thin, and pleasant in the hand, while being capable of an unmatched level of performance.

The 2026 shape brings radical evolutions. For a 4.5 m², the wingspan decreases by 28 cm, the squarer tips add stability and move back for greater control and maneuverability. The chord lengthens (+6 cm on a 4.5 m²), which provides more torque and useful power. This results in greater compactness, responsiveness, and precision in all trajectories, even the most committed ones. Takeoff is earlier, pumping is easier, and the exceptional upwind ability allows instant repositioning on the spot.

The Code 95 canopy makes all the difference. A little less light than a triple ripstop canopy, but infinitely more rigid and durable thanks to its reinforced weave. This added rigidity completely locks in the shape, offering impeccable stability and immediate reactivity. Every gust is converted into glide, lift, and efficiency, without ever surprising the rider.

In the hands, however, the Neutra Aramid X remains soft and comfortable. The traction is balanced—present when you need it, but it can instantly disappear to leave all the space for surfing. It’s a wing that breathes, that doesn’t tire you out, that doesn’t wreck your arms. The precision is such that everything falls naturally under your hands, with a finesse of control that makes every maneuver simple and instinctive.

In surfing, it’s an absolute benchmark. Its low bulk allows for tight turns, its square tips prevent any catching, and its neutrality in freefly makes it a completely transparent wing on downwind rides. You can hold it by the boom or the freefly handle—it remains perfectly intuitive, never interfering or getting in the way. It’s the wing that knows how to disappear when you want it to, leaving only the surf.

But the Neutra Aramid X is not just a wave wing. Its qualities also make it an incredible wing for demanding freeride, for long-distance freefly, and even for daily sessions for those who want the best equipment possible. Versatile within its high-end category, it knows how to do everything with a precision, lightness, and solidity that place it above the rest.

Its construction matches its ambitions. Leading edge and central strut in laminated UPE Aramid, ultra-rigid Code 95 canopy, reinforced seams, Kevlar patches, doubled and lengthened 80-micron bladders: everything is designed to withstand the most extreme stresses. This is a hyper-solid wing, resistant both to deformation and to aging, designed to last for years even under intensive use in the waves.

On this version of the Neutra, we significantly improved several aspects of the shape.

The leading edge has been set back, which reduces the surface area at the tips and recenters the wing’s power. This gives a much lighter feel and speeds up wing rotation during maneuvers and tricks.

The redistribution of the segmentation with 4 short sections on the tips boosts maneuverability and glide in the air. It spins faster and carves harder. This also allows the wing to roll better on the water during difficult trick landings or in foam when coming down from airs. The tips are more progressive, giving the wing a more forgiving feel and reducing the ON/OFF effect.

UPE Aramid

One of the major advantages of Aramid wings lies in the material of their inflatable structure: UPE Aramid. Introduced by GONG in 2023 on the Pulse, this revolutionary fabric marked a decisive turning point.

UPE Aramid is simply the lightest and stiffest material on the market. At 85 g/m², it’s twice as light as Dacron, it offers an unmatched weight-to-stiffness ratio. The result: a more responsive, more precise wing that feels incredibly light in your hands. On a 5 m² wing, the weight saving reaches around 400 g compared to a traditional construction, a huge difference that radically changes the feeling on the water.

Its exceptional rigidity completely locks the shape. The wing no longer bends: its behavior is controlled and predictable. Twist is no longer endured but instead controlled by the orientation of the Aramid fibers and the leading-edge design. Every deformation is intentional, optimized to enhance handling rather than compensate for structural weakness.

Another key advantage: its very low water absorption rate. Even after several hours at sea, the wing doesn’t get heavier and retains the same lightness as when dry. This improves maneuverability, comfort, and control, especially in surfing or freefly.

But an exceptional material is only valuable with flawless implementation. That’s why we spent months testing and comparing all known assembly methods, pushing the limits on tensile benches. This work allowed us to develop GONG-exclusive methods, more reliable and stronger than current standards.

The result: ultra-light, stiff, and precise wings that are also remarkably strong. UPE Aramid isn’t just a technical advance, it’s a revolution that transforms both the handling comfort and the durability of our wings.

UPE ARAMID X Technology

The UPE Aramid X wings feature the most advanced technology on the leading edge and the strut.

The UPE Aramid, a true gem of textile technology developed by experts in nautical textiles.

How does it work?

The PET film ensures the connection between the elements and waterproofing.
The Aramid fibers are arranged at a chosen angle to block the fabric’s extension under load without unnecessarily adding weight to the structure.
The thin layer of UPE, lighter than on UPE 200, ensures strength. This tight weave of Dyneema fibers is a veritable shield.

These three laminated layers create a fabric that is both extremely lightweight, highly rigid, and very resistant to tearing.

Our exclusive assembly, tested in the laboratory and by the Pro Team, ensures unparalleled longevity for UPE Aramid.

The whole system is so rigid that 8 PSI gives you the rigidity of a UPE 200 at 15 PSI. It’s truly deformation-resistant.

Whatever your level, the Neutra Aramid X is accessible.

The Neutra Aramid X is made for riders seeking pure glide sensations, and for those looking for a wing that disappears in surf and freefly.

It’s a wing for those who want a high-performance +++ wing, but one that remains comfortable and doesn’t overpower the rider, even in strong gusts. So, the Neutra doesn’t require a gladiator’s physique ;) It’s cool.

No specific level is required: it’s an easy, versatile wing. Its lightness makes many situations much easier too.

For what?

An ultra-light, super-maneuverable +++ wing, perfect for freefly.

There are plenty of reasons to fall in love with the Neutra Aramid X:

Minimalist riding, without a harness, or even without straps.
A wing with unmatched durability.

Which program?

A wave riding program traditionally brings together three aspects: an initial reach where you jump, a transition maneuver, surfing on your way back, another transition maneuver, and you repeat infinitely…

You want to surf: it’s the perfect wing.

You want to turn: it’s the perfect wing.

And of course, it’s insane for downwinders, thanks to its surf performance.

Which size?

Don’t overestimate the power of wings. A rider weighing 85kg will need 15-20 knots with a 5m² wing to fly at first. After about fifteen sessions, they will be able to fly at 15 knots with a 5m². And if they are athletic, they will pump hard and lift off at 12 knots in 5m² to get through lulls at 8 knots. This is a learning process and takes time.

Which material?

The choice of leading edge material depends mainly on your program and goals. If you prefer cruising in freeride, are just starting tricks, or enjoy surf and freefly, a Dacron leading edge and central strut will be ideal.

If, on the other hand, you love riding hard with a wing that pulls powerfully and will fly sky high, don’t hesitate! The UPE Aramid will provide absolute stiffness with undeniable advantages. The performance gap is significant—it goes faster, higher, and turns incredibly well thanks to its thinner diameters.

Finally, to push even further into the performance realm, combine the UPE Aramid structure with the ultra-rigid Code X canopy fabric. You’ll boost your performance by 15%, reaching the pinnacle of high-level wing performance.

And since things evolve quickly, our team asked us to develop an even stiffer wing: the Aramid CZ technology is therefore born this year, with performance simply out of this world. Stiffer, faster, and stronger. Reserved only for Pro riders and highly experienced amateurs ready to be pushed to the limit.

Which quiver?

The Neutra wing works with everything but pairs especially well with a compact, lightweight board—or a Cruzader for light wind.

Here are the typical pairings:

Cruzader for light wind
Mint for freeride
Stunt for freestyle
Mint, a short Cruzader, a Squash or a Lethal for freefly
Lethal for surf

Naturally, it’s best matched with a performance-oriented foil, with an 85cm mast. Ideal foil pairings:

Veloce HDW or Sirus for light wind
Fluid for freeride
Ypra Surf-Freestyle for freestyle
Veloce for freefly
Curve or Fluid for surf

To complete the setup, you can (and should) add a SUP or a surf foil for no-wind days, a kite to get airborne and probably a quiver of surfboards for those perfect waves. But if you’re venturing into wing foiling, chances are you already have some of these toys in your garage.

What leash?

A wing leash from 5'5" to 8' is ideal. Preferably one designed specifically for winging, and of the coiled-type leash style. A short leash makes it easier to grab the wing quickly. A long leash keeps the wing further away from foil drops in the sail, giving it more space to move.

Always check its condition before each session and replace it every year. It’s your life vest.

Don’t let your wing flap around in the wind at the end of the leash, it’s not indestructible! Also, in the waves, don’t hold onto the wing with the leash, it will break or you may injure yourself.

Harness or not?

When riding the Neutra, the harness is really not essential. It’s a great wing with bare hands.

Riding without a harness feels liberating as you have full freedom of movement. It’s a very pleasant feeling.

That being said, you’ll need to use a smaller wing and do shorter reaches to avoid tiring out your arms. This also means you'll have to pump frequently to take off again.

Therefore, if you prefer to ride powered up, using a harness is almost essential if you don’t want your sessions to be cut short after an hour. Setting up the harness lines is very easy (refer to our tutorials on the forum). We suggest using the least rigid and most minimal harness, with either a small hook or a windsurf-style hook for better comfort.

So it’s up to you to decide if the sensation and aesthetics take priority over performance. But more and more riders are using harnesses, as the trend is towards more powerful wings and higher performance.

Windows or full canopy?

Wings without windows are less expensive, 200g lighter, and more compact for storage.

Wings with windows are safer, more rigid, and offer quicker responsiveness.

For beginners, a wing with windows is essential because safety takes priority over the few grams you might lose. The windows are not for sightseeing: they are designed to let you see a silhouette to prevent executing a dangerous turn that could cause a collision.

Equipments

Harness lines that can be fixed directly onto the boom and are fully compatible.

Our harness lines have been specially designed for this boom, allowing you to attach your GONG h arness line and ride for hours without getting tired.

Semi-rigid textile Downwind handle

Almost rigid, but not completely to avoid damaging the board, it greatly enhances the control of the wing in both freefly and surfing.

The new oval stitching and reinforcements on the downwind handle anchor points help distribute the forces more evenly across the leading edge, ensuring long-lasting durability.

The Dyneema leash attachment is now located on the intrados side of the DW handle, preventing the leash from getting in the way while freeflying.

A carbon boom

Team Series and Pro Team Series wings are available only with a boom, as the benefits of this GONG innovation are manifold:

The boom has become essential for performing at the highest level. Indeed, one-handed tricks have become a must. And what a boost in freedom! Our wings feature the most ergonomic, lightweight, durable, and rigid boom on the market.

Our prepreg carbon boom offers a significant weight reduction compared to rigid handles, as it eliminates two fixations, saving over 200 grams. This is further complemented by an additional 30 grams saved thanks to the thinner strut.

This weight saving is crucial for surfing and freefly, as it ensures the wing remains perfectly neutral and balanced.

Zero flex in the strut thanks to the carbon boom, which absorbs the forces. A strut that doesn't bend means a taut trailing edge, resulting in a powerful wing that doesn't flutter and offers perfect glide.

The boom features a pistol grip at the front, allowing you to maintain and adjust the power as needed. This eliminates the risk of flapping, which can slow you down in waves, particularly when surfing in offshore winds.

The strut’s shape and the boom’s angle are carefully engineered to trim the wing naturally, eliminating the need to constantly bend your back arm. This not only balances the traction in your arms but also allows you to generate maximum power with minimal effort, perfect for jumps and other maneuvers.

This is also highly useful when you’re overpowered: gone is the feeling of being yanked, as the wing stays really controllable, ensuring maximum comfort.

Quick inflation with the One Pump system

The leading edge and central strut are connected by the One Pump system for quick inflation in one go. The clip then locks the airflow between the bladders to ensure the wing’s buoyancy in case of a leak in the strut or leading edge. This feature is vital for safety.

The inflation valve on the leading edge is doubled on the strut for immediate deflation and compact storage. Using One Pump, you inflate through the leading edge only in a few seconds and deflate just as quickly by unscrewing both valves.

Always deflate the strut at the same time as the leading edge. Wings don’t like to stay inflated with just the strut pressurized.

Fiberglass micro-battens

Micro fiberglass battens on the trailing edge: light and very effective in preventing flapping. They maintain the profile all the way to the trailing edge for optimal airflow.

Lightweight and strong, they are easily replaceable to keep your wing in top condition year after year.

Camera safety loops

To capture your wing sessions, we’ve added a discreet nylon leash attachment on each tip and near the strut to secure your camera mounted on the leading edge or strut with a Flymount, allowing you to ride without stress. The leash attachment is strategically placed so it doesn’t interfere with your camera’s field of view! You’ll be able to create stunning shots and share them without the risk of losing your camera!

Repair kit

A repair kit, including bladder patches and fabric, is included with your wing.

Carry bag

A durable and practical shoulder bag comes with your wing. It’s perfectly designed with a large U-shaped zipper for easy storage, a ventilation grid, comfortable padding, compression straps, and straps for the pump (not provided).
