The perfectly balanced noserider between stability and maneuverability for small to medium waves.
The Misty is an intermediate board in the fully dedicated classic noseriding range, ideally positioned between the Winstone and the Pinta.
It borrows traditional noseriding codes while delivering an optimal balance between extreme stability and subtle maneuverability thanks to precise shape choices and revolutionary EPS technology.
Its generously distributed surface includes a square tail with soft lines but a notably wide rear quarter. This surface, combined with significant volume and a well-proportioned round nose, makes the Misty a benchmark for fluid noserides and elegant movement on small to medium waves.
This wide tail holds a large volume of water when noseriding, creating a strong lever effect that automatically lifts and stabilizes the nose. You’re thus carried in perfect balance with a path that naturally stays on or above the trim line.
The much steeper and more accentuated rocker in the rear is the defining feature of this shape. It moderates the board’s natural speed to prevent it from rushing out of the pocket too early. We want nose time, not a board that escapes as soon as you step forward.
The sharply lifted rocker in the rear third shapes the rail curve to naturally bring the board back into the wave, greatly boosting noseriding performance. This pronounced tail rocker also improves maneuverability and facilitates turns, despite the board’s significant surface area.
The Misty’s rails, true to traditional 50/50s, offer extremely smooth and fluid glide. However, the tail is sharp with hard rails at the very end to maintain glide despite the strong kick tail, and to radicalize powerful turns.
These boards are built using EPS technology for the best balance of strength, responsiveness, and weight, highlighting the shape’s full technical potential. This is the modern technology currently favored by the most technical surfers chasing high performance.
The Misty paddles early and maintains flawless flow. This board is designed for surfers looking for the ultimate balance between extreme nose stability and easy tail maneuverability.
For fluid noserides and a harmonious, aesthetic glide, the Misty embodies perfect balance within GONG’s reinterpretation of the classic noserider.

Buying guide
The Misty is for longboarders passionate about noseriding, seeking a classic board reimagined with modern performance tools to maximize nose time and maneuverability.
It suits both experienced longboarders and intermediate surfers wanting to refine their style and explore the classic log repertoire.
The Misty is not a versatile all-rounder or a radical modern longboard: it’s for those who want ultra-stylish glide, clean lines, stalls, and flow at the nose.
This board is built for nosework, not radical maneuvers. The wide tail and specialized rocker naturally lock the board into the line with ease, ensuring perfect stability during noserides.
With the Misty, everything is designed to match your surfing to the wave and extract its essence. It naturally fits into the right path and lets the surfer focus on placement and style—without struggle or loss of control.
The Misty is shaped for small to medium waves, where it can fully express itself.
It excels from knee- to shoulder-high in long, mellow waves where you can draw clean lines and maximize time at the nose.
Perfect for pointbreaks, slow beachbreaks, and spots that peel cleanly without much power.
Not intended for heavy surf or very fast conditions—this shape prioritizes glide and control, not radicalism.

Fin choice plays a crucial role in how the Misty rides.
