Fury EPS Surfboard

Program
The Fury combines the unique flow of a twin and the dynamic drive of channels. An ultra-maneuverable, fast and precise board, as suitable for summer conditions as for fast, tubular waves.
Presentation
The Fury is very close to a round tail shortboard but with more glide and incredible freedom in the drive. The magic of this shape lies in its glide. It generates a lot of speed while remaining ultra maneuverable. Really stylish, with a very strong ability to tighten turns, it's the board that makes you love every wave.
A shortboarder will choose it to score in the summer waves, but it will surely become his main board. At first amused by its fun and skaty feel, we are immediately surprised by its performance, because on this shape everything is designed to go fast and draw beautiful lines.
The Fury can surf all types of waves.
On short waves, immediate acceleration is its biggest asset: a few meters of section are enough to give it all the necessary speed. Hitting the lip with energy becomes super simple.
On long waves, the Fury allows you to carve endlessly. On this board you know you have the speed, that you can turn extremely short, so you can just hold back or send it.
This alternative shape will help you progress because the Fury completely redefines the notion of shortboard, thanks to its natural speed, but also thanks to perfect freedom in trajectories.

OUTLINE
The rear portion of the outline is rounded to maximize maneuverability. The nose remains pointy but keeps a little shoulder width for paddling and accelerations. The max width is central for perfect balance. The drive is instinctive and instantaneous, which allows you to carry out maneuvers on improbable sections, but above all to say that you made the most of each surfed wave.
HULL
The presence of channels is essential on this fast twin to offer the essential grip for a high level of performance. They give more stability at high speed. We have this inimitable feel and glide of a twin, a loose and fast behavior, but with added drive and control as soon as we put the board under pressure in the carves. The Fury is therefore not limited to small conditions, fast sections and tubular waves are also part of its playground.
The four channels channel the water flow out of the hull. Their role is to direct and accelerate the exit of water from the hull. Directing the water creates support and therefore maintains its trajectory. However, the water is not compressed as it would be with a simple concave hull. On the contrary, it is released more easily to gain natural speed. These long channels have a pronounced spin that increases glide, control and stability at high speeds.
TAIL
We gain pivot and reduces turn radius thanks to its round tail, unlike a wider fish tail. The approach is necessarily more radical than that of a fish twin. We wrap around this round tail which favors a rail to rail that is both progressive and smooth.
FINS
Combining two deep twins and the channels allows you to keep this characteristic speed, but without ever losing control, whatever the power you put in your turns.
The twin fins / channels association accentuates the speed. You also get more control than with a simple twin. On the rail, the channels provide significant additional grip for staying ahead of fast sections, pushing carves and holding high lines.
Everything in this shape is made to go fast, and above all for it to never end!
Technical sheet
Fury EPS Surfboard 5'6
Shape
- Rocker: tight and progressive to boost glide.
- Rails: thin for perfect grip and precise drive.
- Volume: without excess and perfectly balanced.
- Outline: rounded for comfort when paddling and dropping, speed and drive.
- Tail: round tail to combine speed and maneuverability.
- Nose: rounded point nose for easier paddling and dropping.
- Deck: domed to maintain fine rails.
- Bottom: 4 channels placed on a double concave V for effective flow release, grip and speed. Ending with an important V at the tail to facilitate switching from one rail to another. Flat at the nose to facilitate acceleration when entering a wave.
- Fins: twins.
Buying guide
For whom?
The Fury is primarily a board for experienced shortboarders looking for more glide and speed in imperfect conditions.
It will also be suitable for an intermediate level surfer as the natural speed of this shape will help them progress in their maneuvers. The flow of the twin provides a unique feeling, a very enjoyable mix of glide and speed.
For what?
Unless you live on a perfect point break with powerful waves on a daily basis, you will sooner or later need to insert a shape into your quiver that allows you to have fun in small or below average waves. But not everyone is systematically attracted to a fish.
For this shape, we will instinctively favor sloppy conditions, summer waves, short swells, because this is where the Fury will make the difference. Everything becomes easy because you constantly have speed on demand for carves and top turns. But its scope remains vast, and we will appreciate its glide as much as the unique style of surfing it provides.
What size?
The ideal waves for the board?
Sizing: From hip high to head high waves and above.
Power: its playing field is immense but it delivers all its potential in hollow waves.
Appearance: like many twins, it’s better in smooth waves.
What technology?
We offer different technologies on certain shapes to meet the program, conditions, and sometimes individual habits.
In the case of a PU board, there will be a different behavior from an EPS board of the same shape and weight. It’s the weight distribution in the board that generates a big difference in feeling. For two blanks with the same shape, one in PU and the other in EPS, the EPS blank will be lighter, as EPS foam is less dense.
In the case of a PU board, it’s the blank that provides solidity and concentrates weight in its core. The board thus has a very “central” inertia. This makes for a very smooth board, which forgives errors but is less dynamic. The PU blank will be heavier than the EPS blank.
In the case of an Epoxy board, the blank is very light, and solidity comes from the skins. So the inertia is “peripheral,” meaning the weight of the board is on the outside, making it more mobile, agile, and dynamic.
The best comparison to explain these differences would be to say that the inertia of PU naturally gives a single fin feeling (very centered, smooth and soft pressure), while EPS gives a trifin or even quad feeling (very external support, immediate rail to rail, maximum nervousness).
EPS is generally preferred for boards that need dynamism, usually in small to medium conditions, schematically in waves where speed generation is required. EPS is therefore preferred on shapes where reactivity is sought, as it’s easier to turn quickly, perfect for waves that require rapid transitions. For very good surfers, this further enhances the dynamism of their surfing. For progressing surfers, EPS adds this little boost of dynamism as the board can gain speed much more easily, an important point considering that in surfing, speed is the key to everything. PU is favored for high-performance shortboards, for boards where controlling speed is the main objective.
Different feelings : Surfers accustomed to PU will generally say that “EPS bounces and feels stiff.” While surfers used to EPS will say that “PU feels soft, lacks response, and struggles to accelerate.” These feelings often stem from habits, sometimes generalities, and often prejudices. Don’t hesitate to deviate from conventional wisdom to make your choice.
Which fin set-up?
The Fury allows us to play with the size and shape of the twins. This has an important influence on the behavior of the board. To increase the pivot, we will for example favor relatively straight fins with little rake. On the contrary, increasing the rake or base length will improve drive and control in turns and carves, but by lengthening the turning radius. By increasing the surface area of the fins we gain control but at the expense of speed and vice versa. Note that the presence of channels makes it possible to reduce the size of the fins without losing control.
Which shape to choose?
Fury or fish?
A fish will have dimensions that are more generous, with a length/volume ratio that is both more compact and more imposing. The Fury's dimensions, although slightly bigger, ultimately remain quite close to a traditional shortboard. If you are attracted by very compact shapes with as much volume as possible in a minimum length, you will like the Fork or the Pie. The Fury also has a clearly superior ability to pivot than a shape mounted with keels (because of their wider base).
Fury or shortboard?
To surf a performance shortboard full time, you generally have to enjoy good conditions, be very technical, or agree to catch only 3 decent waves per session... The Fury is halfway between a shortboard and a groveler, it will have this capacity to turn average sessions into good sessions, since it's all about speed. The Fury is therefore often used as a complement to a shortboard, and usually turns out to take up a lot of sessions.
