Buying guide
For whom?
The shape of this board is intended for paddlers of all levels. From the complete beginner to the passionate rider who wants a super stable cruising board at an excellent price.
For what?
From leisurely paddling to physical training, the First Cruising is a board that paddlers enjoy using for covering long distances and/or gliding effortlessly.
Which size?
The 11’6 x 32’’ Cruising:
Outings of less than an hour and a half on all types of water.
Designed for cruising. Easy to maneuver thanks to a slightly reduced length.
Rider size: ideally under 95kg, but it doesn’t really matter because it’s super easy.
The 12’6 x 33’’ Cruising:
Outings of more than an hour on all types of water.
Designed for long rides, stable and comfortable. It glides well in a straight line.
Rider size: super easy for everyone. No stress.
What is the difference between our I-SUP range and first range?
What quiver?
This board comes with an adjustable GONG aluminum paddle. If you want to improve performance, equip yourself with a MIX 30% paddle—it will significantly enhance your comfort on outings longer than an hour.
If you're looking to surf, consider adding a First Allround, an I-SUP SHORTSUP, or a LONGBOARD to your quiver.
What paddle length?
For a more relaxed surfing experience, a paddle +10 cm longer will be perfect.
For cruising, a paddle that is your height +15 to +20 cm is ideal.
Its length determines your paddling frequency and turning radius.
What leash?
The leash is provided in your pack. Check its condition before each session and replace it yearly. It's your life jacket.
Good to know:
Never leave your board in the sun, especially not an inflatable board which heats up quickly. You risk it coming apart as the materials become soft in the heat. Never store it under a car window or near a heat source.
Never let your board be battered by waves, especially at the shore. You must protect it from major efforts. A wave that carries your board and rolls it can cause damage.
Don't hold onto the leash indefinitely as it can break under very strong tension. Avoid large waves and don't resist. If it breaks, it's frustrating but easy to replace.
Avoid oysters: they are one of the few shellfish that can cut your board and make it sink in seconds. Be very cautious.
Don't let your inflatable board rub against something for a long time. For example, it can happen on a boat that your board moves with every wave and rubs for hours in the same spot. The material will degrade as if it were sanded. You'll have a hole that needs to be patched.
Never put the board between the wave and yourself: risk of injury such as a broken nose.
Don't paddle out to sea in onshore winds, and avoid windy outings as they are rarely pleasant and always dangerous. SUP is an activity that carries real risks, even in seemingly calm conditions. Always anticipate these risks and protect yourself.

The First Cruising SUP features a central US Box fin system, the gold standard for high-performance fins. With the fin playing a crucial role—contributing to 50% of the board’s performance—GONG opted for this precise and adaptable setup on its inflatable SUPs.

Your pack comes with a paddle! It’s adjustable, easy to dismantle, and ideal for getting started.
The GONG leash, provided in the pack, ensures safe use of the First Cruising.
Built for reliability, it features a comfortable ankle attachment and robust construction.
The large-diameter leash ring is the strongest on the market.
The First Cruising features a padded neoprene center handle for easy carrying under the arm.
The Deck Pad is designed for both comfort and performance. It provides outstanding grip, allowing for long sessions without slipping or tiring. Whether you're cruising or surfing, it ensures a secure and enjoyable ride.
The minimalist yet highly practical front bungee system allows you to secure a dry bag or hold your paddle in place. It’s perfect for carrying safety gear, water, and a snack.
The provided double action rapid inflation pump is super effective so you can be the first one in the water.
A repair kit is also included in case of damage (note that the kit does not include glue, which you can easily find at your hardware store: flexible PVC glue). Please note that we have in stock the components of your board to repair it almost as good as new quite easily.
Everything is delivered in a well-thought-out, sturdy transport bag, made of beautiful materials.
