Presentation

The I-SUPs are high-end boards created by Patrice Guénolé, a pioneering shaper in the world of Stand-Up Paddleboarding, and a team of passionate engineers.

The I-SUP Cruising is a fast AND stable board, ideal for long rides.

When rowing, it reassures from the first strokes of the paddle. You can start even if you don’t know anything about surfing or if you have a sturdy body frame. We are high enough on the water to take on a passenger. It is very rigid. And when we paddle harder, it propels forward with its fast rocker.

But what you need to know is that its stability, with its generous width, will make it possible to engage in long hours of pleasure without tiredness, and to carry enough load to make breaks to eat or even to spend the night under the stars.

This board is the queen of the relaxed ride, but also of long excursions. 90% of users will do nice strolls lasting an hour or two. But the I-SUP Cruising is ready for adventure!

US Box

The I-SUP Cruising comes with a US Box center fin, the go-to standard for premium fins. Carry Handles

Designed for easy handling, it features five carry handles.

A central foam and neoprene handle lets you comfortably carry the board under your arm.
Two front-third ergonomic "turtle" silicone handles help you pull the board through waves or drag it out of the water effortlessly.
Front and rear ergonomic silicone handles make launching and maneuvering the board—both on land and in the water—super easy. A real game-changer!

Travel Bag

Everything comes in a super practical and durable wheeled travel bag.

The wheels are cleverly placed on the opposite side of the carrying panel—so no pinched backside while walking and no straps getting caught under the wheels.
The backpack straps are heavily padded and extremely comfortable.
The reinforced handles are both rugged and comfortable to hold.
A spacious front pocket allows you to store your accessories and personal belongings safely.
And the compression straps minimize the bag’s volume to the bare minimum.

Inflatable I-SUP Technology - Woven Fusion

Thanks to its high-end Woven Dropstitch Fusion inflatable technology, GONG I-SUP boards are sleek, lightweight, highly rigid, and incredibly durable.

The I-SUPs feature a double thermo-welded layer on the deck and the hull. It is this membrane that gains in lightness while maintaining the rigidity of a double layer.

The dropstitch used inside our I-SUPs is a Woven Dropstitch : it is the best assembly technique of the inflatable world, for best in class performance, rigidity and lightness.

Woven Dropstitch technology, the best compromise between weight/stiffness/strength. Combining our historical Double Layer Welded technology with the new Woven Dropstitch, this technology is by far the most reliable, lightest and stiffest.
Weight savings of around 20% compared to the classic Double Layer (no glue between the 2 welded PVC layers).
Rigidity gain of 30% compared to standard technology.
Strength gain: twice as thick as standard technology.
Double layer of PVC on the rails.
Premium Woven Dropstitch: the slightest irregularity is refused and the batch is resold to low cost factories.

What size for the I-SUP Cruising?

Even though anything is possible, here we outline the main uses:

The 11’6 x 32’’ Cruising:

Outings of less than an hour and a half on all types of water.
Not great for surfing. More like 80% cruising and 20% surfing. It glides well and straight ahead.
Rider: less than 85kg ideally but it doesn’t matter because it’s very easy.

The 12’6 x 33’’ Cruising:

Outings of more than one hour on all water bodies. Perfect to go on an adventure.
Not great in surfing. Rather 80% riding and 20% surfing. It glides well and straight ahead.
Rider: Very easy for everyone. No stress.

The 13’6 x 35’’ Cruising:

Outings of several hours on all water bodies. Perfect to go on an adventure.
Not great in surfing. Rather 80% riding and 20% surfing. It glides well and straight ahead.

Understanding the GONG range?

What is the difference between our First range and I-SUP range?

Best quiver choice?

This board is perfect with a Carbon Mix 100% GONG Paddle cut to the right size or adjustable, and a top of the range fiberglass or carbon fin.

What length of paddle?

The way you paddle, your stance and the frequency at which you paddle will depend on your program. You will need a longer paddle for touring for multiple hours, while you would need a shorter paddle for surfing in order to facilitate quick and strong paddle strokes to catch a wave. Take your time to pick the right length/setting for your paddle, because it will help give you the stability and performance you will need.

Examples:

For a 100% surfing session, set your paddle between your waist and +10cm.

For more relaxed surfing, a +10cm paddle will be perfect.

For a ride, set your paddle between +10 and +20cm.

Which leash?

For the I-SUP Cruising range, a 10’ leash is the perfect choice. Depending on your needs and style, you can opt for a classic ankle or knee leash for a mix of cruising and surfing, or a coiled leash to minimize drag for a fully cruising-focused setup.

Check its condition before each session and change it every year. This is your life jacket.

Good to know :

Never leave your board in the sun, let alone an inflatable board which will heat up very quickly. You risk seeing it peel off because the materials it is made of become flexible in the heat. Never store it under a car window, or in contact with a heat source.

Never let your board get roughed up in the waves, especially when you’re close to the beach. You have to protect it from major strains. A wave that takes your board and rolls it can do damage.

Do not hold it by the leash indefinitely because it can give way under very high tension. Avoid big waves and don’t resist. If it breaks, it’s easy to change but annoying.

Stay away from oysters: this is one of the few seashells that can cut your board and sink it in seconds. Be careful +++

Don’t let your inflatable board rub on something for a long time. It can happen on a boat, for example, that your board moves with each wave and rubs for hours in the same place. The material will disintegrate because it will be as sanded. You will have a hole that will need to be covered with a patch.

Never put the board between the wave and you: risk of a broken nose type injury ;-)

Do not paddle far at sea with an offshore wind, and avoid windy outings as it is rarely fun and always dangerous. SUP is an activity that involves real risks, even in seemingly peaceful conditions. Always anticipate these risks and protect yourself.
