In a nutshell

Its very harmonious shape provides a lot of ease in the take-off phases and great comfort on touchdowns. With its diamond tail and round nose, this board displays plenty of usable surface area for its size. Never bulky, always sufficient, it offers a lot of leeway in transitions. As it glides very well when in contact with the water, touchdowns are stable and you can use them to regain control, for instance when exiting your first jibes or tacks. Its S rails make the volume invisible. These S lines running towards the hull make for ultra thin rails which translate to totally harmless touchdowns. You can hit chop while flying upwind without braking. It’s awesome. They also act as stiffeners, making the board more dynamic. With its many sizes and adjustment possibilities, the Catch Foil is suitable for all levels from beginner to pro; but also to all foils with a standard top plate.

Moreover, the Catch Foil FSP 2X is mounted with the SCS system. The plug and play solution by GONG which facilitates the installation and adjustments of the foil on the board. You can leave the nuts and the screws on the top plate, insert everything at once, screw it tight and off you go!

Note: the Catch Foil board is also great for dock/beach starts, even if it is not its basic program, just like in wake foiling or strapless tow-in.

For whom?

From beginner to pro, the Catch Foil FSP 2X is for foilers of all levels and in particular those looking for versatility.

Light or heavy rider? You’re bound to find the perfect size for you in a range of 5 sizes going from 20 to 35L.

What’s it for?

Almost everything you love on a Foil is great on the Catch Foil FSP 2X.

You want to start foiling: it’s perfect and will remain in your quiver for a long time.
You want to fly early: it has huge volumes.
You want to go fast: it loves it.
You love strapless boards: its deck pad is awesome.
You want to jump : it’s got a full PVC sandwich.
You want to surf : its shape is perfect.
You want to send tricks : it’s made for it.

What size?

What is the ideal Kite?

The Catch Foil FSP 2X is fabulous with a Strutless to perform in winds below 20 knots. This kite is close to a race kite in its abilities, but with the safety of an inflatable structure. It flies in nothing and holds crazy upwind courses, yet it’s a very maneuverable kite too. Perfect.

But the Catch is also a good match for the Unik which will bring a lot of maneuverability to link manoeuvers for example.

What is the ideal foil?

The Catch will work perfectly with our foils and more particularly:

TheX-Over (M & maxi L) and the Curve (S & M or even L) to get started in foiling or for cool freeride sessions.
Fluid (S, M & L) and Veloce (S, M & L) for more glide, speed and maneuverability.

And for speed lovers, the sizes XS and S of the Ypra-S, Veloce H and Ypra,

In general, we recommend stabs with a very small surface such as a Fluid 38 for example.
You can also choose to switch to a Freestyle stab for their shorter fuselage which promotes responsiveness by reducing the radius of curves. Or conversely take the easy road to performance with the Curve stab in a small size.

The must is to upgrade this foil with a 100cm Carbon V2 mast or an HM92 mast.

For beginners a shorter mast is easier: 65cm for the first sessions and go from there to bigger and bigger, or straight to one close to 100cm if you feel confident.
An intermediate size mast such as an 85cm will make it easier to ride in the waves and freestyle but will not offer the very useful and pleasant margins in manoeuvers we like for tacks or for full speed runs in choppy conditions.

Quiver partners ?

The Catch Foil FSP 2X has been tested from 4 knots to over 60 knots of wind with success. Suffice to say that it has no limit. But the optimum foil program is 6kts to 25kts for most people.

The obvious choice is to complete it with a kite surfboard for the wind range over 20 knots.

Into dock starts? The smallest sizes of the Catch are great with a Sirus foil set-up and all the giant Curve and Fluid front wings.

What settings?

The wide range of possible adjustment for the footstraps inserts and the foil in the US GONG box (with double entry rails to fit our SCS system) make it possible to perfectly set the board for beginners. By adjusting the settings they can ride very forward of the foil which makes the board calmer and more predictable on take offs. You can then gradually bring these two points closer together (foiler support, and center of thrust of the foil) to achieve the perfect flight balance and perform once you have reached the sufficient technical level.

A beginner will move the footstraps all the way forward and set the foil all the way back.

And a pro will set the back strap fully back and the front strap in the middle. While his foil will be between the center and the back third of the boxes.

Strapped or strapless?

Riding strapless is sexy because you feel free. But quite honestly, performances will be lower.

So it’s up to you to see if the feeling prevails over the performances.

With straps you will have a lot more control and a lot less risk of hitting the foil that flips under your feet. You can recover from crazy situations just by pulling on the feet. You can go faster, jump and push for tricks.

Put your straps in the central position (3rd hole) for the fronts, and the same goes for the rear strap if you are always riding in the straps.

If you want to be able to remove the back foot for pumping, place the rear strap at the first or second hole.

5 mm Velvet Traction Pad on the deck: deck pad designed for great comfort and absolute grip.

1 x GONG footstrap light and 1 x GONG V-shaped footstrap light (screw kit included).
5 x footstraps inserts with 5 positions each to optimize your position on the board.

The Catch Kite foil FSP2X boards are equipped with our high-end 5mm thick Traction Velvet Pad. The Hard Brush surface treatment provides a firm grip. Besides, the comfort is unequaled because the entire surface of the foot is in contact with the pad. Unlike a pad with large reliefs, the grip is made by an infinity of micro reliefs, hence this “velvet” contact. This new one-piece pad covers the entire useful surface of the deck. It exempts you from waxing your board. And it avoids small angles that could end up peeling off.

The whole range of kitefoil boards is upgraded with our double entry US box system to accommodate the SCS system that equips all our recent foil boards. It is so easy to install your foil with this system that you will save time on the water.

With the SCS nuts connected by the composite rods, the nuts on the top plate are automatically perfectly set. You just need to position the top plate over the 4 entries, insert the nuts all at once, slide the foil back to the chosen position and in two turns of the key per screw the foil is mounted. The GONG double entry box facilitates the assembly and adjustment of the foil! Performance without the hassle. When dismantling the foil, you can leave the nuts and the screws on the top plate, just loosen the screws, remove the foil and off you go! It is the plug and play solution which facilitates adjustments (SCS nuts not supplied with the board).

The set of footstraps is offered with the board. Their outline has been revised to further improve comfort. Less covering but more rigid, they are more precise in piloting and they do not bend when slipping into them. There is less surface area on the instep: so there is less risk of getting stuck in it or banging your foot on the edge of the strap when sliding into it too quickly. This also allows better leeward support (tip of the foot) and therefore a more natural attitude.
The V-shaped footstrap perfectly centers the foot on the front of the board. The position is thus more natural and allows direct and precise control in maneuvers.

How to position and set your footstraps?

Delivery

Delivery delay

We indicate a preparation and shipping time of 3 working days. In reality, the majority of orders are shipped within 24/48 hours.

The delivery time, i.e. delivery time of the package to your home, then depends on the delivery location and the carrier.

We work with reliable and efficient carriers. 99% of shipments go perfectly and quickly. In the case of the remaining 1%, rest assured that we will do what is necessary with the carrier.

Shipping fees

Unlike other sites, shipping costs are not hidden behind the price of our products. You know exactly what shipping costs you, and you are not disadvantaged if you choose to collect your order at our GONG Space Center.

Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight and volume of each package, and your delivery address.

Tracking your package

Delivery tracking is managed directly by the carriers to whom we have entrusted your packages. They will contact you by email or SMS to allow you to choose delivery methods and follow the route of your package.

Carriers

We work with the best transport societies to deliver to you throughout Europe and the world within very short deadlines. We chose them for their quality of service and their compliance with deadlines.

For mainland France, 80% of your orders arrive at their destination in less than 48 hours of processing.

For Europe, delivery times vary from 3 to 6 working days, depending on the country of destination.

For the rest of the world, delivery times depend on transit time and customs clearance time. This delay depends on customs and can last from a few days to a few weeks depending on the destination and seasonality.

Please note, transport time is added to preparation/shipping time. Two companies collaborate on your order (GONG and the carrier). Each one masters its activity and is committed to optimizing its deadlines so that you are delivered as quickly as possible and at a reasonable price.

Despite our requirements and all the care we take in the packaging and protection of your product, transport hazards may occur, and your product may suffer more or less significant transport damage.

Note that the products are protected in their carton. If you have any doubts, simply refuse delivery and contact us.
