NEWS: THE FIRST RANGES OF GIANT WINGS IN THE WORLD!

The days when waves and wind conditions didn’t come together for a session are now over. The conquest of solutions for the lightest conditions has just taken a new turn with the world’s first ranges of giant wings!

Because ultra-light conditions, or even none at all, are also part of everyday life, whatever your home spot, we had to innovate to allow you to have fun on days where before this incredible innovation, you remained stuck on the ground 😉

We have all been there before but those frustrating moments are now ancient history thanks to a varied offer of giant wings to match your technical level and your physical condition. Light winds are extreme conditions. There is the same difference between 5 and 10 knots as between 20 and 40 knots. It’s easy to disregard it, but in very light winds, the importance of the equipment is crucial. At GONG we know that the average wind in the world is 8 knots. So we do everything we can so that from 5 to 6 knots everyone can enjoy winging, and that below this bar you can fly by pumping.

No more waiting weeks for conditions or having to travel far away to score! The new rule is whenever and wherever 😉

Even better: you will no longer need very big wings. Our giant foils have huge aspect ratios, so incredible glide that will generate wind speed. Three pumping strokes on the foil, lighten yourself with the wing and off you go. A 5m2 is enough to fly in 6 knots for a size like that of our shaper (100kg). In 8 knots you can be flying with a 3.5m2. The feeling is crazy. We can send tricks, tacks, go for long distances or surf. It’s just pure fun as we like it without EVER having to doubt your ability to take off again in case of a fall. It changes the whole vision of our sports!!!

The potential of giant wings was revealed by the Sirus which revolutionized practices in light wind wing foiling, pumping and SUP foiling on the flat. The validation of its potential by your numerous orders and very positive feedback has called for the development of giant wings that refine the uses:

• The Curve H front wings in sizes 3XL, 4XL, 5XL and 6XL are very easy and maneuverable which allows everyone to enjoy the crazy performance of these giant wings with almost no technical or physical barrier to overcome.
• The Fluid H front wings in sizes 3XL and 4XL which offer skilled foilers a formidable wing in speed, glide and maneuverability for the highest performances and sensations.
• A Sirus 5XL for a mindblowing take-off on SUP foiling gear on flat water (all in glide without having to pump!) and covering monstrous distances very easily.

New XL sizes of the Curve H

Thanks to their maneuverability and very predictable lift at low speed, the new Curve 3XL-H to 6XL-H front wings open up the crazy potential of giant wings to foilers of all technical and physical levels! For a more relaxed pumping than with a Sirus, the shape of a Curve H brings extra ease to the take off with a lot of forgiveness. Really stunning, especially for flat starts on a SUP foiling board where a few paddle strokes are enough to get going. It also gains a very smooth rail to rail, which has already made the success of the smaller sizes of the Curve H, and which in these large sizes will simplify your control and maneuvers by making everything very smooth.

Its accessibility makes it an essential front wing to get into dock starts and achieve your first prowess when associated with a low volume board. For flat start take offs on SUP foiling gear or light wind winging, these large sizes of the Curve H are stunning!

When wing foiling with a Cruzader FSP Pro or its inflatable version that glides and frees you from the water, it’s hard to believe how little you need to take-off!!! This is completely crazy. And it’s easy.

New XL sizes of the Fluid H

In very light conditions in winging or just in pumping, the 3XL-H and 4XL-H sizes of the Fluid H are faster than a Sirus or a Curve H. This makes it possible to keep a different form of lift since it is based on speed and not the ability to fly at very low speed. As a consequence, thanks to its high speed, you can cover long distances by pumping across lulls full speed without losing flight.

Of course, the Fluid H is more technical and will also stall more easily when making a mistake or when flying too slowly, but once you get used to it it is a machine to fly to infinity while remaining very maneuverable! And maneuverability is a key to performance for good level foilers who will optimize and correct their trajectories if needed. The big plus of the Fluid H is this very free drive from one rail to the other. Each pumping stroke is optimized. Each error is corrected without losing much energy. And that makes all the difference.

A 249 wingspan on the Sirus 5XL!

The new size with a wingspan of 249 cm steals the world record from its “little” sister of 186 cm! One would assume that given its wingspan, it starts to push water, making the flight less efficient, but this isn’t the case at all. You can even get going only by paddling! It’s incredible. This giant wing lifts and glides like no other thanks to an aspect ratio over 20!!! This too is a world record that puts GONG far ahead in terms of innovation to make light conditions fun.

Besides, our exclusive technology delivers unparalleled stiffness over the entire wingspan for stratospheric performance! Obviously, you won’t be surfing or making tight turns with it, but you can easily take off with a SUP foiling board on days that are totally flat and cover insane distances with ease!
