This new V3 range, designed by our team of engineers and hydrodynamicists led by Patrice Guénolé, offers major improvements both in glide performance and assembly mechanics. We pursued performance down to the finest details while retaining what made the GONG V2 foils the best-selling foils in the world.

Development Overview:

Goals of the V3 Range:

• Deliver ultra-high-performance foils tailored to each discipline.
• Provide absolute tolerance and a stable, dependable feel, even in turbulence.
• Maximize lift to enable the use of smaller, more responsive, and faster surfaces.
• Simplify assembly, enhance rigidity, and reduce drag.
• Push composite rigidity and durability to the limit for superior performance.

Changes compared to V2:

• Transition from a square fuselage to an ovoid section: improved hydrodynamics, 12% drag reduction.
• Constant profile on the front wings for uniform lift.
• Streamlined design for transitions between sections (fillets), making the foil smoother. Achieved a 50% drag reduction on the lower 10 cm of the masts!

Optimization of wing profiles:

• The constant profiles from the center to the tips on the V3 allow for maximum and consistent lift, providing better control on the surface when, for instance, a tip emerges, and offering excellent low-end performance.
• The wing design has been adjusted to reduce surface turbulence, making the foil quieter and significantly more stable.
• The alignment of the planes and profiles has significantly reduced the stabilizers' surface area, consequently reducing drag.
• The new profiles rise without generating pitching at low speeds. V3 foils take off flat, making them much easier to handle, particularly during re-engagements.

Impact on performance:

• Improved stability in turns, increased rigidity for tricks and fast runs.
• Excellent low-end range and highly stable behavior in complex situations: tip-out, high-speed stalls, re-pop, turbulent water, etc.
• Reduced drag enables easier glide and sustained speed over long distances without effort. Requires 200 cm² less on the front wing.

Lightness:

• The weight of the foils has been significantly reduced (e.g., 40g less on the fuselage, 700g less on a Sirus), making transport easier and also improving responsiveness on the water.

Rigidity and durability:

• The new ovoid section of the fuselage improves rigidity by 30% compared to square versions. This ensures greater stability, especially at high speeds or during rapid transitions.
• The rounded design of the connections between flat surfaces reduces stress points, significantly increasing break resistance by 30%.
• Materials such as reinforced aluminum for the fuselage and carbon for the wings offer an excellent weight-to-rigidity ratio.

Glide and lift performance:

• Thanks to a constant profile on the front wings, lift is enhanced, allowing for a 200 cm² reduction in wing size while maintaining the same lift as a larger wing from the V2 version.
• The V3 wings are designed to minimize drag and maximize glide, a major focus of their development.
• V3 wings offer much greater tolerance, making flight easier even at low speeds. They no longer stall abruptly when approaching the surface or when a tip emerges.

Perf GONG V3 Mast Range (Aluminum)

Aluminum masts: reliable and affordable, perfect for quick progression in foiling. Designed to offer excellent value for money, these masts are ideal for beginner and intermediate riders.
The new V3 profiles are highly efficient, providing top-level glide. Their stiffness is also flawless.

Available in two thicknesses:

• 17 mm: A great compromise between stiffness and glide, recommended for front wings under 100 cm wingspan.
• 19 mm: Ultimate stiffness, designed for large front wings over 100 cm wingspan.
  

Available in several lengths:

• Alu Mast 55 cm: Short and with virtually no leverage, ideal for learning in shallow water or for mellow sessions, whether surfing, SUP, or wing. Available in 17 and 19 mm thicknesses.
  
• Alu Mast 62 cm: Perfect for progressing without stress; ideal for beginners, though limited in height for more advanced riding. Available in 17 and 19 mm thicknesses.
  
• Alu Mast 70 cm: The “standard” length in surf, offering a good balance of carving and pumping. A key size in surf/SUP. Also good for beginners in winging. Available in 17 and 19 mm.
  
• Alu Mast 77 cm: The most performance-oriented size for surf/SUP carving. Excellent for pumping too. A bit short for winging, but great in waves or for safe progression. Available in 17 and 19 mm.
  
• Alu Mast 85 cm: The reference length for winging, suitable for everything from freeride to freestyle and surf. Offers the best all-around performance. Great in kite for full control, especially in big air. Excellent for tow-in surf. Available in 17 and 19 mm.
  
• Alu Mast 92 cm: Perfect for freeride winging or entry-level racing. Great in waves for high-speed carving. A top choice for kitefoiling with added clearance in choppy conditions. Available in 17 and 19 mm.
  

Team GONG V3 Mast Range (Carbon)

Team masts combine light weight and stiffness thanks to their prepreg carbon fiber construction. Suited to experienced riders, they offer an excellent balance of performance and comfort at a reasonable price.

Available in 17 mm thickness, ideal for front wings under 100 cm wingspan, enhancing glide and maneuverability.

Available in two lengths:

• Carbon Mast 70 cm: The “standard” surf length, offering easy balance and a great mix of carving and pumping. A key size for surf/SUP. Also great for beginners in wing. 17 mm thickness.
  
• Carbon Mast 85 cm: The reference length for winging, from freeride to freestyle and surf at the highest level. Offers the best performance blend. Great in kite for full control (e.g., big air), and excellent for tow-in surf. 17 mm thickness.
  

Team Pro GONG V3 Mast Range (HM Carbon)

The Team Pro masts represent the pinnacle of technology with their high-modulus carbon (HM) construction, providing extreme stiffness with minimal weight. Designed for demanding foilers seeking pure performance in glide, speed, and control.

A stiffer mast boosts the foil's performance by eliminating twist and flex. This firmness enables ultra-precise and dynamic riding.

Thin profiles (13–15 mm): Optimized for glide and front wings under 100 cm wingspan.
Ultra stiff profiles (16–19 mm): Designed for absolute stiffness with large front wings over 100 cm.

Available in several lengths:

HM Carbon Mast 70 cm:

• 15 mm: Standard length for surf with balance, carving, and pumping. Ideal for front wings under 100 cm.
• 19 mm: Same length and benefits, for front wings over 100 cm.
  

HM Carbon Mast 77 cm:

• 15 mm: Perfect for advanced surf/SUP, aggressive carves on wings under 100 cm. Also great in wing for tricky waves or shallow water. Fabulous for downwind.
• 19 mm: Ideal for downwind and surf/SUP with large wings requiring ultimate stiffness. For wings over 100 cm.
  

HM Carbon Mast 85 cm:

• 14 mm: Reference length for winging, from freeride to freestyle and surf. Optimized for top glide. Great for speed and big air in kite. Amazing for tow-in surf due to high Vmax.
• 15 mm: Same length with slightly more stiffness, offering excellent feedback and precise trajectory control.
• 16 mm: Suitable for large wings over 100 cm. Also great for heavier riders seeking ultra-firm feedback even with smaller wings. Excellent high-wind performance and versatile enough for both small and large wings.
  

HM Carbon Mast 92 cm:

• 13 mm: Optimized for fast wave winging, racing, and freeride with solid lift in freefly. Excellent for kitefoil — combining glide, control, and clearance. Also useful in challenging downwind conditions.
  

HM Carbon Mast 100 cm:

• 13 mm: A step up for racing. Ideal for slalom and freerace. Excellent in kitefoil with great glide, clearance, and maneuverability.
  

HM Carbon Mast 107 cm:

• 13 mm: Longest “standard” V3 length. Built for high-speed winging in race/slalom. Outstanding for long reaches in kitefoil and full control in race or rough water.

HM Carbon Mast 112 cm:
Specific to the Ypra Race program with exclusive fitting. Not compatible with standard V3 fuselages due to its thinner base. It pairs with the V3 Micro and V3 Race fuselages, making it compatible with all V3 wings. This is the ultimate racing mast: minimal drag, extreme stiffness. 13.5 mm thick.
