NEWS: TWO PODIUM FINISHES IN BRAZIL!
Our Brazilian team riders performed highly on the first stage of their national tour where they competed against the best longboarders and SUPers in the country!
Evelin Neves and Alex “Leco” Salazar, GONG team riders, met on the beach of Pontal do Ipiranga located in a province just north of Rio de Janeiro where the 2023 Brazilian longboard and SUP surfing tours got underway.
In the longboard category, Evelin took a solid third place on her Pampa 9’6. She had to let her place in the final go to Luana Soares, reigning vice-champion in Brazil, who managed to make the best of the conditions during their confrontation in the semi-finals.
The reigning longSUP world champion and GONG team rider, Leco Salazar, did one better by reaching the final among a very tough field of competitors in the shortSUP category. On his Alley FSP Pro, he comes only one point short of taking the win in the final against Adriano Trinca Ferro.
Congratulations to our team riders for whom the competition will resume tomorrow for the second leg of their respective tour!
