The Function of the Fiber Glass Batten on our V3 Kite is block the distance between the Leading Edge and Trailing Edge and to impede it from doing the accordion when the wind gusts hit and is not meant to maintain the Kites profile in these gusts. So, if you choose, you can store this Batten in your Kite Bag as it has no incidence on the profile of your Kite after it has been installed in the sheath.
