GEAR : feedback foil Hellvator !!!

Romain shares with us his impressions about the GONG foil Hellvator : “Here’s my feedback after spending two months with this foil.
Although I have not been able to do lot of session early, but in recent weeks, I could ride a lot. To hell light wind, I could ride with my foil in almost all conditions eventually. From light to strong, 7m to 14m, from the flat to waves (small though).
I am clearly more comfortable in the light and I use more and smaller kites. I think it is proper to all foiler actually. For now, my favorite conditions, that is a good wind 12 kts even a little more with my 9m.
Under these conditions, the gong foil is a formidable weapon. You can strongly “carving” and it remains stable even with powerful support.
I have more trouble in strong wing. I feel really not comfortable. But again, I think it is proper to all beginners foilers. Yesterday’s session, for example, between 25 and 30 kts very irregular (strength and direction) in 7m was horrible. However, I think I have progressed, but it’s really hard to be in foil with a too big kite.
Today, new session by 7m with a little less wind (but still gusting to 25kt). That went better and I finally could take pleasure in the strong wind.
I now riding all the time with the 2 wedges. The foil is faster, but it is also much more playful and manageable. It is very good in light winds or one seeks performance, but really tough in the strong wind. For now, in strong wind, I try not to go too fast not to leave overspeed !
For straps setting, I’m loosen it more. I liked at the beginning feel tight block feet, it gives better board’s control. But after a few big falls where I can not seem to remove the feet due boots (sea urchins in the pond where I ride) I’d rather lose a little control and keep my feet intact. Loosening the straps so !
For the construction, nothing to say for now. The foil does not move at the junctions despite the subsequent dismantling. After testing several solutions, I now let the wings mounted on the fuselage. I disconnect only the body and the mat for transport. Everything goes very well in the Matata’s boardbag which is fast enough to put together again (4 screws).” Foiler : Romain en GONG foil Hellvator et GONG 5’5 Matata Fiol XTR DT.
