GEAR : feedback 6'9 Matata !!!

Moïse shares with us his impressions about the 6’9 Matata :
“Yesterday I could finally make a decent session with the new 6’9.
The other 3 sessions was pretty messy.
So 60cm waves at the beginning and 40 to 50cm at the end, pointbreak which unroll on the left, I am Regular so surfing backside.
It works really well, no need to row like a oaf to drop, I hardly missed any wave … and as I was alone I took full of waves !
Sometimes it was leaving with two strokes of the oars.
Gliding looks like actually an oldschool longboard … let me explain :
as the rails are parallel, the curve can not be done only by leaning, you absolutely have to push on the tail = weight back then for the revival must switch its weight towards.
Obviously it turns shorter than a longboard, but there is the same conduct. You can even move forward of the board with one foot to the nose.
The board makes beautiful curves, the rails are still fairly thin and sharpened on the back. For cut back it takes place, but it is quite playable.
Especially by forcing the moves can get to do “slip” the tail.
This is a session that I could make with the IT 10 ‘, but 6’9 was good too.
It’s really a nice glide, with good curves.
To follow …..” Surfer : Moïse en GONG surf 6’9 Matata Bamby. Source : Team GONG Surf, la planche de surf rapide, compacte et maniable.
