An incredibly versatile board. It can be surfed like a real shortboard when the swell gets bigger or like a mini-mal in smaller conditions.

Presentation:

You want acceleration in small waves without surfing on a hard to paddle 6’0 board? The Big Hug is ideal.
Its shape derives from shorter than 6′ small wave fish boards and is tailored for waves less than one meter high.
You can surf it soft or hard, it can take it.
It is a fast and playful board with a lot of pivoting capability in small waves, perfect for 80% of the surfing days on earth 😉
Easy to paddle, it is one of those boards which take off very early and accelerate really fast.
However, it is not for playing in big hollow waves, but it can take a good 2 meter wave if ridden by a good surfer.
If you are looking for a fighter plane for small swell and want to improve your surfing ability without too much hassle, this Big Hug will be the tool for you during most of your sessions: i.e. in small waves…

Programme:

A big fish for big guys who want a fighter plane in small swell. It is also a great board to experience the modern fish feeling right from the start.

Technical level for surfing this shape:

– Beginner: no problem for lighter weights. – Confirmed: high performing but easy even so. – Pro surfer: ultra easy, too easy…

Shape floatation:

– Less than 65 kg: really good. – 65 kg to 85 kg: simply perfect. – More than 85 kg: no problem.

Shape intensity:

A soft but very lively board. No surprises with this shape which capitalizes on the smallest of swells. You can push it as much as you like, it likes it…

– Rocker: progressive curve for smooth gliding and strong acceleration. – Rails: very defined at the rear, quite defined in the centre and quite soft at the front. A board with very good acceleration capability in small waves. – Volume: just enough for a medium weight, infallible ease. – Outline: big dimensions but not too big to gain ease without sacrificing performance. – Tail: Baby Fish Tail for a good rail shift and acceleration in small waves. – Nose: Round Point Nose for perfect floatation during paddling, good pivoting and control in all situations.
