Though he was just learning to wing foil on a 2100cm² front wing not so long ago, Michael (85kg) has now adopted the Ypra LS with a surface area of 1000cm² for good (see his last feedback). During his last session, he tried its little sister of 800 cm². Here is his feeling.
“It seems like I have finally found my limit!
Today, 16 knots of wind and the Neutra 5.5 (lots of power for the arms) pulled me on the Ypra MS & Veloce H40 without any problems. I can’t believe I flew under 800 cm² with a foil, while last year I was always with a 2100 cm²! ?
After testing the Ypra LS (my new love!) just yesterday, I found the MS even more agile and a bit faster today. But it felt like it was a bit technical for my weight. Also, taking off turned out to be much more technical if I was not overpowered in the gusts.The same was true for any imperfection in my maneuvers. So all in all, the Ypra LS is the choice for my 85kgs.
I’m probably slightly heavier than Malo. And perhaps I’m not like him in many other aspects…
But one thing we have in common: the love for a new sport and his dad’s ideas.”
