FEEDBACK: YPRA L-S

After testing many front wings, Michael totally adopted the Ypra L-S. Here is his feedback.

Everyone is convinced that your talent, your training and your years of experience as a waterman led you to your title of world champion. Everyone is convinced that it is your state of mind, your kindness and your attitude that make you smile so much on the water. But they are all wrong. I discovered your secret: it’s your foil setup that makes you smile and win!?
Yesterday, I (85 kgs) sailed “your” Ypra L-S, with a Fluid H 42 cm Stab and a HM 92 cm Mast.
FYI: next year I will win the world championship too (or at least I will be second! I just need to lose weight, years and learn to jump…?).
I’ve tried so many different setups over the past two years: Rise XL and XXL, Curve XL-T (was my favorite at one time), Fluid XL-T and XXL-T, Fluid L-H, plus lots of stabs and masts (the V1 and V2 in 85 cm, the 100 cm one-piece and V2 Carbon). Reduce the size, refine the quality… For each level of learning, you can have the perfect piece of equipment (thanks to your father for the great gear!).
But what I experienced yesterday was a crazy revelation for me.
My new configuration with the Ypra L-S cuts through the water like a scalpel with precision and without mercy.
- New personal best (38 km/h – by being braver, you can go even faster!)
- It goes upwind super fast
- It is very stable at high speeds
- It responds more than my Fluid L-H
- There is no problem when jibing (you can stall but the foil glides so fast and far that it is not a problem)
- In the tacks, I can take very wide turns
- I go super high as soon as I jump (I go for it…)
All in all, it’s a hell of a piece of gear that’s worth every penny! Thank you for sharing this design marvel with us!
Michael.P.S: The Ypra M-S and the Veloce H 40 Stab are still waiting for their first use. I will let you know.”
