Feedback from our GONG ambassador, Yohann, an assiduous wing foil, surf foil and dock start practitioner, who had the opportunity to test the new Veloce, Curve and Curve H during a small surf foiling session.

“I had a surf foiling session this morning with the new Veloce XL, Curve XL and Curve XL-H. I had to wait for the sets to take off as the swell was dying out. The wind was slightly side-offshore at daybreak and rising during the session. I was on a Lethal 4’8, 70 HM mast and Fluid H 38. All 3 wings are really easy compared to the Veloce XXL-H which I would normally take for these conditions. Clearly any of the three allows me to go smaller in size and provides better tolerance for inaccuracies in pumping.
The Veloce is a little bit faster and is more reactive on the wave.
It’s the one with which I re-connected the least while it’s the one I tested the first (I was still fresh and the wind was still off). Well, it was the least adapted to the tiny conditions of this morning, if I had had the opportunity I would have tested the Veloce XXL.The Curve is the simplest.
It costs me more in pumping than the Veloce, in thighs and cardio, but as it is simple I had longer sequences of surf and I reconnected more often. I expected it to be more reactive, I’m not sure in the end, on the other hand, because it’s easy, I tend to surf much closer to the whitewater than with the others. This morning it was very marked, it surprised me.The Curve H is the one with which I have taken the most reconnections at a time.
Probably because it fits my style with wide lines on the face of the wave. Note that I also managed to maneuver it pretty well on shorter top turns.Any one of these three is much easier than a Veloce XL-T which would have been too small for the conditions this morning. They would be more comparable to a Fluid XXL-T, but faster, more manageable and more efficient at pumping. I can not be too precise in the comparison on an accessibility level but we must not be very very far apart.”
