A new release that’s shaping up to be essential: Romain delivers the first feedback on the Squash on the GONG Galaxy page!
Wing foiler: Benjamin, GONG team rider, on the Cruzader Squash FSP Pro, Neutra (Perf Series), HM85 mast, Fluid front wing and Ypra Surf-Freestyle stab.
The Squash in a small volume
“Received today: the Cruzader Squash 5'1" (65L).
Test setup: Neutra X 4.5m 2025, Fluid S front, Ypra Surf S stab, 85 HM V3 14mm mast.
Comparison with my previous board: Mint 2024 in 4’10” (65L).
First impressions: On arrival, I was afraid it would be too difficult: thinner board, more centralized volume… In the end, from the very first test, it was the opposite. Yes, it still sinks when the wind drops, but it sinks ‘easily’: I can get going again standing up with water above my knees without too much struggle.”
Stability and riding
“On my knees, the stability is excellent. You can feel the volume concentrated towards the front and the middle, which makes waiting much more comfortable. The pad grips strongly, which helps too.
Once flying, it’s pure pleasure: the board feels more compact and, above all, much more maneuverable. In turns, you gain in radicality and responsiveness. It clearly changes the riding style compared to the Mint.”
Conclusion
“A real step forward: thinner, more playful, but not more complicated. I gained in sensations without losing comfort during waterstarts.
P.S. It weighs only 4.2 kg without straps!”
