Flying while many are glued to the water is one of the pleasant conclusions of this feedback shared on our FB group about the HIPE Cruzader.
Wing foiler: Bastien, GONG team rider, with a HIPE Cruzader 7’0 and a Plus Perf Series wing.
From the HIPE Pro to the HIPE Cruz
“A quick look back at the new HIPE Cruzader from July 2024. Session on a lake, wind 9-15 knots, rider 79kg, HIPE Cruzader 7’6, Veloce V2 XXL, Veloce Pro 47 v1 stab, V2 85cm carbon mast. I compare it with my HIPE Pro 5’3 from 2023.”
Gliding from 9 knots
“The Cruz is less stable when on my knees (even if the lake is flat), nevertheless, I can stand up quite comfortably and it gets going from the slightest gust. It glides on the water from 9-10 knots.
I had set the foil to position 9 (in the middle), but too much front foot so I found the right setting around number 7.
Takeoff is very fast, much faster than on my HIPE Pro. Once in flight it's incredible, the pumping is super efficient and the glide is great. The jibe radius is wider, changing feet is as easy as with the HIPE Pro.
When flying it's less radical, but the sensations are very present and you fly when many are glued...
Next session I will test the tacks.
This Cruz will complement my quiver pretty well. I plan to use it from 8 to 20 knots.
To be continued.”
