Tytouan shares feedback for the surf foiling community about the V3 setup mounted under his new Scura.

Surf Foiler: Béryl, GONG team rider, on Scura FSP Pro, HM70 mast, and Curve H V3 setup.
The New Scura
“Quick feedback after my first surf foiling session with all new gear!! Yep, I also got a new board! I really liked the shape of the Scura 4’8, and with my 1.90m and 90kg, 36 liters is quite adequate! Honestly, it's an incredibly effective paddle, with a thin and comfortable pad. It's light, rigid, and very balanced in flight and during carves! I can’t wait to use it in conditions a bit more powerful than this morning!”
V3 Foils in Surf Foil
“So, this morning, I tested a completely new setup, so it took some time to find the right settings and references! Wave size was 50/80cm on the sets, but quite soft at takeoff, with swell lines to chase out the back. The setup:
- Scura 4’8
- HM85 mast 14mm (V3)
- Titanium fuselage V3
- Curve L-H V3
- Stab Curve S-H V3 then Fluid M-H V3
Starting the session with the Curve S-H stab, it's ultra stable, with no porpoising at all. The glide is noticeably better, and the pumping is more efficient. In carves, the board’s trim stays consistent, keeping a constant height without needing to balance much—it’s astonishingly easy! You can breach the tips without any consequence! In swells, you glide effortlessly, carving widely, climbing high on the wave crest, and dropping back into the power zone without even needing to accelerate—really cool!”
The Curve H with a Fluid H Stab
“Second part of the session, I switched to the Fluid M-H stab, and it’s a completely different foil under my feet—totally unleashed. The ‘easy and accessible’ aspect of the combo with the Curve stab is lost. It becomes much more radical, with pumping and carves requiring greater precision, and you lose some lateral and longitudinal stability—you'll porpoise if you’re not fully focused! Personally, I have a slight preference for the combo with the Fluid stab since I’m an experienced surf foiler and I enjoy this instability and ease of switching from one rail to another. However, it requires real precision—there’s no room for error; you need finesse in handling!”
Summary of This New Setup
“In conclusion, another flawless setup! I’m very eager to try the Fluid S-H V3 and Veloce S-H V3 for wing foiling!! I also have the Curve M-H, which I think will be perfectly suited for slightly more powerful/cleaner conditions in surf foil, just like its previous version!”
