Foil Fluid H V3 - Carbon HM 77
Program
The high-performance foil to shred with lots of speed and commitment.
Introduction
The Fluid H is a high-performance foil to radicalize your sessions. It does everything really well, and that's what we love about the Fluid H: it takes off early, it goes fast, it has incredible rail-to-rail, a high top speed, a powerful pop and a magical glide when you're surfing.
It's the perfect foil for those who want to radicalise all aspects of their surfing. In surfing, it's the foil capable of hugging curves and snapping them, but also of gliding through wider lines without losing lift. This extreme versatility is delectable. You always get the impression that you've got it under your feet, even though it's so simple.
And it's just as great in a straight line and when pumping. It's an ultra-healthy foil, supportive but fast, that just begs to be used. Gaining confidence and serenity is the key to radicalism for those who want to make strong progress. Boost your curves, your moves and your speed with this all-round foil.
The plane is combined with the 77HM V3 carbon mast: a masterpiece of technological know-how. Glide, stiffness, lightness and responsiveness: it's the ideal mast for foilers in search of excellence
The sleek profile minimizes drag for easier takeoffs, rapid accelerations, and higher top speeds. The 77 cm length is dedicated to high-performance use in surf foil or SUP foil, but also in downwind and pumping, and potentially in wing.
With 10 years of mass-producing foils, GONG has been the world’s leading driver of this practice, delivering nearly 100,000 foils. This incredibly intense tenth year of R&D has enabled us to offer an even thinner mast in the V3 foil range. The lower sections of our HM masts now start from 15mm in thickness, while also offering options by 19mm.
You can thus choose the mast perfectly suited to your build, your front wing, and your program:
- If you prioritize glide and speed, the HM15 will become the centerpiece of your quiver.
- If you are sturdier or focused on pumping/light wind, and you seek unmatched rigidity for maximum precision, the HM19 is made for you!
Front Wing
Its elliptical outline gives it a very playful character by centring its lift, which has the effect of releasing its tips while maximising hydrodynamic performance across its entire span. Glide, lift and glide are maximised.
The advanced tips project the centre of lift of the wing forward to increase the leverage of the stab. This reduces the surface area of the stab and increases acceleration and speed.

Stab
The outline centres the lift and tapers sharply at the tips to maximise rail-to-rail. The tips are set back slightly to move the centre of lift of the stab back, giving it better leverage on the plane. This reduces the surface area of the stab and increases glide without compromising comfort.

Evolution
Overall, the new H range has gained enormously in glide.
Foils take off much earlier. On average you can go for 200 cm2 less surface area than with the previous generation for equal lift. The stabs are also much smaller.
This gain in glide, and the resulting reduction in surface areas, therefore makes it possible to radically increase the top speed and the average speed: by downsizing you generate less drag, and more speed.
The new profile, constant across the entire wingspan, makes it very forgiving in near stall situations and breaching. The foil holds very far at low speed. It’s stunning!
Forgiveness for breaching is unprecedented. You can fly close to the surface stress free: the foil remains super healthy to the point of not even feeling the breaches.
This consistency of the profile combined with an optimized composite layup gives even more rigidity to the foil, which allows for a steering that’s much more precise. The whole is really more rigid and more resistant to torsion.
A more efficient foil shape
- faster
- more rigid
- more resistant
- lighter
The new round shape allows a 12% gain in glide and the thicker section approaching the stab increases the strength and rigidity of the foil.
Hours of calculations on extremely powerful computers have allowed us to optimize the smallest detail to maximize performance. The fillets of all our connections have been carefully studied and adjusted to minimize hydrodynamic disturbances and increase the rigidity and resistance of the assembly.
SuperLock self-tightening system
The more pressure you put into the front wing, the tighter it fits into the fuselage.
The pressure angle makes it very easy to disassemble the front wing, even after long sessions. This fitting only requires two screws under the FW, which makes changing the front wing easier and faster.
This tightening principle, already validated for several years on our V2 stabs, is now available in an optimized version on the front wings.
A real plus for daily use!
Buying guide
For whom?
The Fluid H is the perfect foil for riders looking for an ultra maneuverable, versatile and fast front wing to excel in various disciplines.
For what?
It’s a do-it-all high-performance foil. Its speed, maneuverability and glide make it the perfect wave riding machine while its impressive pop makes it very efficient in jumps and freestyle.
Which size Front Wing?
Less low end oriented than the Curve H, it nevertheless remains forgiving at low speed and accessible for takeoff. Compared to our previous Fluid H range, you can reduce the surface area of your front wing with no fear of a challenging take off or higher stall speed.
Some generalities on the choice of front wing sizes:
The preferred size will depend on your foiling discipline, your level, your weight, the conditions of your spot but also your board and your wing.
When pumping, you want as much surface as possible to be able to get going without the help of a wave or wind. By improving your technique and gaining more speed, you can reduce the surface area you need.
In surf/SUP foiling, the perfect surface area would be small enough to turn with ease but large enough to take off and pump comfortably.
In wing foiling, all sizes work. The heavier the rider and/or the lighter the wind, the larger the size. Conversely, riders who are lighter and comfortable with takeoff can look for smaller sizes.
When kite foiling, you want to avoid wingspans of more than 80 cm because the counter-heel is significant and the tips will easily breach the surface. Favor lower aspect ratio front wings to start because they provide a lot of lift for a limited wingspan.
If in doubt about which size to choose, contact our customer service.
Which Stab?
We recommend that you combine a Fluid H stab with your Fluid H front wing, as both components are designed for the same programme and optimised to work in perfect harmony.
General information on choosing stab sizes:
Your preferred size will depend on your support, your level, your weight, the conditions of your spot and also your front wing.
A larger stab will make take-off easier as the foil will generate a lot of torque which will tend to give it a high angle of attack. This also means a more direct return under the front foot.
A smaller stab will be more technical on take-off but will boost speed and manoeuvrability. You also lose support on the front foot, which means you have to move the foil forward in the boxes to regain this stability. Always adjust the size of the stab to the size of the front wing to obtain a balanced flight and harmony between these two components.
If you are in any doubt about which size to choose, contact our customer service department.
What thickness?
You have the choice between 2 thicknesses.
The thicker the mast, the stiffer it is and the greater control it provides, particularly with larger front wings.
The thinner the mast, the faster it is, increasing top speed and acceleration, especially with smaller wings.
Here are our recommended mast thicknesses to ensure perfect stiffness of the whole setup:
- 15mm thickness is recommended for front wings up to 140cm span
- 19mm thickness is recommended for front wings up to 210cm wingspan
Aluminum or titanium fuselage?
We strongly recommend using a titanium fuselage in the following cases:
- IIt is mandatory for your safety if you plan to navigate beyond the 300m zone or if you sail more than 300m from shelter (serious bodily injury risk in case of unexpected breakage).
- If you jump (risk of material loss).
- If you use front wings with a wingspan of more than 110cm (risk of material loss).
If you don't meet any of the above conditions, the aluminium V3 fuselage will suit you just fine.
