Presentation

Progressive, high-performing, and easy to travel with, the HIPE Perf is the inflatable WingFoil board that covers the widest range of uses; from learning all the way to very committed riding.

Like all HIPE boards, it delivers a feel very close to a hard board on the water, while keeping the practical advantages of an inflatable. The concept is built around a hybrid dropstitch construction with a rigid, molded composite plate developed by our in-house R&D team. On the water, that translates into a board that feels light in hand, easy to live with, and remarkably tough, with a level of stiffness that genuinely upgrades the ride.

This HIPE Perf version is 100% dedicated to WingFoil, with a strong focus on glide and efficiency. The size range has been refined from 5’1 to 5’10 (75L to 150L) to cover riders looking for the right mix of accessibility, performance, and everyday practicality. Weight stays under control, below 6.5 kg, which makes a real difference: carrying, launching, walking back upwind on the beach, and overall comfort while progressing.

The HIPE Perf can be ridden strapless from day one, then evolve into a strapped setup depending on your goals. That’s a key part of its “no limits” character: more control in freefly, first jumps, freestyle progression, or a more locked-in feel when you want precision. And for 2026, the major HIPE upgrade is right under your feet: the strap inserts are now fully flush with the deck pad. The deck becomes perfectly flat, with zero irritation or pressure points. Strapless or fully committed, the contact is direct and comfort is total; very close to the feel of a hard board.

The three rear-strap positions let you fine-tune your stance with precision. It’s easy to find the right balance between comfort and control, based on your style and your level, without fighting approximate settings.

On the water, the HIPE Perf is relatively thin to maximize glide and acceleration. Its refined yet stable outline, combined with a stiffer tail rail, helps the board build speed before lift-off. The benefit is immediate: you take off more easily, without being overpowered or waiting for strong wind. You spend more time flying, progress faster, and enjoy it more; especially because the board stays extremely light, even in the larger sizes. Premium materials like Woven Dropstitch Fusion push stiffness to the top of its category, making the ride cleaner, more precise, and more predictable.

Rigid Tail Rail

To improve takeoff, our designers developed a rigid rail at the tail of the board, directly inspired by the sharp edge at the tail of rigid wing boards. This allows for a clean separation of the water flow at the end of the hull, and therefore better glide before flight, boosting acceleration.

In 2026, its integration goes even further, getting even closer to rigid boards. Comparable to a flat round tail for even more glide, minimal bulk in turns, and explosive repop, you pump even less and get airborne even earlier.

The HIPE Perf is the perfect board for beginners. The larger sizes are ideal for starting out: zero stress. It's easy to ride in the larger sizes, but in the smaller sizes you'll need to be in good physical condition or be lightweight.

For what ?

The HIPE Perf is the board for progressing without complicating things, almost to the highest level. It is therefore limitless and offers a very wide range of training programs.

If you can only have one board and your skill level is neither pure beginner nor pro, this is a great all-around board: good for cruising, maneuvers, and even jumps, tricks, surfing, freefly, etc…

It's a really easy board in larger sizes, with a great glide that makes takeoffs a breeze. It's fantastic for boosting your progression. In smaller sizes, you get top-level performance for transitions, speed, upwind performance, turns, and tricks.

Which HIPE should I start with?

If you want to get started easily without using the foil, then HIPE Learn is for you.

If you want to start out and only sail strapless, then the HIPE First is for you.

On an inland body of water with a bit of balance, it's the HIPE Like .

If you want to start out and have the most progressive board possible, it's the HIPE Perf .

For those in a hurry, here's a summary:

What size?

You can take a very generous amount if you're a beginner. And if you already have a good level, you'll instead aim for a limited volume by following the rule below.

Remember that:

Your weight plus 50 gives you the minimum total liters to start with . Example: I weigh 70kg + 50 = 120L minimum to start with.
Your weight plus 20 gives you the total liters needed to progress . Example: I weigh 70kg + 20 = 90L minimum to progress with a lively but easy board.
Your weight plus 0 gives the total liters needed for performance . Example: I weigh 70kg + 0 = 70L, ideally for progressing with a radical board.

Which quiver buddies?

The HIPE PERF is truly the all-around foil board. It will therefore take up a significant amount of space in your sessions and a very small amount in your quiver.

You can, of course, complement it with a range of stand-up paddleboards without foils. And surfboards for days when the waves aren't suitable for foiling.

Which shape should I choose?

The concepts behind each inflatable board in our range can be summarized very simply:

HIPE FIRST : the perfect inflatable foil board for beginners and progression, strapless.
HIPE LIKE : the alternative to the HIPE First designed to take off early and remain easy.
HIPE LEARN : the inflatable for learning: flat on the water, first flights and SUP foil compatible.
HIPE PERF : the inflatable with 95% of the performance of the rigid in an easy and progressive shape.
HIPE CRUZADER : the inflatable “downwinder” for the highest performance in Wing in lightwind, lowkite and obviously in DW.
HIPE DIAMOND : the mid-length board with the glide of a downwinder and the agility of a compact board.
HIPE FREEFLY : the ultimate in strapless inflatable foil boarding.
HIPE PRO : the inflatable board for scoring in surfing / freestyle.

Which foil wings?

If you are a beginner, start in X-Over.

If you have prior experience with snow sports, the Ascent is the preferred choice.

If you have talent, start with Curve H.

For beginners:

In the X-Over range: extremely easy and efficient wings at low speeds for easy beginners:

M for 50kg -> 65kg and all wind forces.
L for 65kg -> 75kg and all wind forces.
XL for 75kg -> 85kg and all wind strengths.
XXL for 85kg and over or for winds less than 15 knots.

The Ascent range will be more demanding for beginners. In return, it will support you further in your progression. Here's how to select your size:

S below 65kg and all wind strengths.
M for 65kg -> 75kg and all wind forces.
L for 75kg -> 85kg and all wind forces.
XL for 85kg -> 95kg and all wind strengths.
XXL for 95kg and over or for winds less than 15 knots.

The size of the front wing determines the speed/lift ratio. The smaller the wing, the faster you will go, but you will be uncomfortable at low speeds.

The stabilizers play a major role. They determine the stability of the foil and help with its lift, but at the expense of the foil's maximum speed.

Thus, thick stabilizers are slower than thin stabilizers, but provide much more lift, and are therefore effective at low speeds and in calm conditions. A larger stabilizer span prevents loss of control but reduces maneuverability.

Which foil mast?

During your first few sessions, you can feel more confident with a short mast (62cm). Falls on your first flights will be less dramatic. But aside from launching, you'll have everything to gain with a long mast (100cm and above).

More length = more margin = easier = more efficient.

In choppy conditions, during transitions, and in lulls, a tall mast will be ten times more enjoyable. It will prevent you from hitting the ground and give you the necessary clearance for all your maneuvers.

In pure racing, the ultimate choice is undoubtedly the 100cm HM mast. Absolutely magical. But the 95cm aluminum or 92cm HM masts are also fantastic.

In freeracing, a long mast is also a must. It's no more difficult and it will make fast tacks easier.

In freeriding, simplicity and versatility are often key. 85cm is the obvious choice. 92cm is for those who want more range.

In Freestyle, 85 cm is recommended to maintain a dynamic and controllable rail-to-rail connection.

In surfing, radicalism and control are favored, hence the 85cm. But in solid waves, the 92cm will give more leeway to apply huge angles without dramatically venturing at the bottom, for example.

Finally, note that a 1.5° rake angle under an 85cm mast will give you the nose-up margin of a 92cm mast. It's the ultimate trick.

In short, for waves and freestyle, but also for beginners and those looking to progress, an 85cm mast (V2 or HM depending on your budget) is ideal. Easy to launch, easy to switch from one rail to the other, it's perfect.

A mast of 92 cm and above will be dedicated to racing, offering more margin at high speed in choppy waters but less maneuverability.

Foil positioning?

For GONG foils, place the plate in the center of the US rails to start and move it forward a few centimeters when you start transitions (sign of good progress).

The further forward you move it, the more the board rises. The further back you move it, the more the nose of the board dips.

Be careful not to move it too far forward. There's often a tendency to not let the back foot do the work, especially when coming from kitefoiling. However, moving the foil back a little forces you to put more weight on your back foot, resulting in a more balanced stance and reduced effort.

What accessories?

Safety is of paramount importance for the practice of board sports, and even more so when it comes to foil sports.

A wing leash is essential . Once released, if the wing is not held by its leash, it will immediately fly away several dozen meters from you, and it will only stop its course once it is blocked by an obstacle which will damage it in most cases.

A board leash is also very important, especially when learning. It keeps your board close to you. You keep a safety float within easy reach and, most importantly, prevent it from injuring others. Choose a 6-foot leash with a minimum diameter of 7mm. Check its condition before each session and replace it annually. It's your life jacket.

To practice in the best conditions, it is absolutely necessary to wear a protective helmet and an impact vest .

We have also developed a range of Bodyguard textiles , which provide additional protection against the risk of cuts associated with foiling. The risk is always present, but it is even greater during the learning phase.

We strongly recommend that you protect yourself as much as possible.

Strapped or strapless? 2 or 3 straps?

In wing foiling, riding strapless is sexy because you feel free. But quite honestly, the performance is pretty sluggish…

So it's up to you to decide if feel is more important than performance. With a HIPE Perf, you'll clearly miss out on a large part of its potential without a strap.

With the front straps, you'll have much more control and far less risk of the foil flipping over under your feet. When you're starting out, the front straps are an essential reference point for proper foot placement. You'll save a ton of time.

In the waves, it's obvious; you gain a huge amount with straps, including the back strap. You can recover from crazy situations just by pulling on your feet. And what about tricks? The repertoire is tenfold with straps. All jumps are possible, and the cushioning of the inflatable board is amazing for your knees ;-)

Take your first steps with just the front straps. You can add the rear strap as it will provide a good reference point for positioning your foot just in front, and a good grip. But don't use it at first. Once you're comfortable in flight, consider moving the foil back 2cm to get used to the rear strap.

With the multi-position strap inserts, you can choose the stance (the distance between your front and back foot) that suits your size and your riding style: forward foot for comfort or back foot for carrying weight, it's up to you! It's a real plus!

Good to know:

Never leave your board in the sun, especially an inflatable board, and even less so a black carbon fiber board, which will heat up very quickly. You risk it peeling off!

Don't screw in beyond the bottom of the box, or you'll end up inside the inflatable. We supply non-through US squares, but be careful.

Never let your foil board get tossed around in the waves, especially near the shore. You must protect it from major impacts. A wave that sweeps your board away and rolls it can cause serious damage.

Equipments

SCS System

The composite plate is equipped with dual SCS ( Smart Connection System ) entry boxes for easy foil installation and adjustment. The double holes correspond to the stance of the holes on your GONG foil's mounting plate. The foil is presented with the squares already mounted on the plate, which slide into the rails without disassembly. Slide the foil in, tighten the four screws, and you're ready to ride.

To simplify foil assembly, our US mounting squares are connected by a carbon fiber rod and included with the board. This saves time during setup and ensures precise adjustments. No more risk of losing the squares: simply leave them screwed onto the plate and slide them into the US rails through the four insertion holes. No need to disassemble anything: just tighten the screws and you're good to go!

Adjusting the foil is also easier and more precise with the adjustment information written on the plate.

Carrying handle

The handle integrated into the carbon plate on the hull significantly improves comfort when launching and carrying the boat over short distances. Furthermore, it has no impact on the rigidity and strength of our plate, which remain flawless.

Footstraps

The set of 3 footstraps is included with the board.

Developed for wing foiling , these moderately covering straps don't crease when you put them on. There's less surface area on the instep, so there's less risk of getting caught or hitting your foot on the edge of the strap when putting them on quickly. This also allows for better support downwind (balls of the foot) and therefore a more natural wing foiling stance.

Reinforced and padded , they are precise in piloting but still very comfortable .

The double V-shaped front footstrap perfectly centers the foot on the front of the board. This results in a more natural stance and allows for direct and precise control during maneuvers.

With 3 rear strap positions, you can adjust your stance to suit your riding style: comfort or commitment, YOU choose YOUR program. Without straps, the pad remains flat underfoot and you no longer feel any discomfort because the strap inserts are cleverly integrated into the pad.

Every detail has been carefully considered to enhance your experience on the water.

Full deck pad

The premium 5mm thick full pad provides maximum grip and comfort while sailing.

Its grooving Ridge Traction rigid boards are the best in terms of comfort but especially in terms of anti-slip to provide maximum stability and secure support with maximum grip and comfort while riding.

Very different from the dropstitch coating of the board, you immediately feel if your foot is properly placed on the pad.

Compartmented carrying bag

The HIPE Perf comes in a super practical and robust wheeled carrying bag.

It's spacious enough to carry your HIPE, foil and wing.

It is designed for comfortable travel and without excess baggage fees on most airlines!

The large front pocket isolates the front wing and stabilizer to protect them. The backpack straps are very well padded and comfortable. The handles are super strong and comfortable.

Integrated compartments in the reverse side of the front panel allow you to securely and neatly store your foil components and screws. Compression straps reduce the bag's volume to a minimum.

Pump, screws and repair kit

The included dual-action rapid inflation pump is super efficient for being the first in the water.

All the screws for the straps and the top plate of the foil are supplied with the board.

A repair kit is also included in case of damage (please note that the kit does not include glue, which you can easily find at your local hardware store (PVC glue)). We also stock the components for your board so we can easily repair it. Everything on an inflatable board can be repaired.
