Wing foil Board Inflatable HIPE Diamond
Program
The HIPE Diamond is a glide-focused inflatable mid-length for wing foiling and lowkite, designed to take off early while staying versatile from light wind to freesurf.
Presentation
Instant glide, easy take-off, and real versatility: the HIPE Diamond 2026 is the inflatable mid-length that lets you cover a wide range of conditions without making life complicated.
Its benefit is immediate: it naturally builds speed before lift-off. The outline is relatively narrow through the midsection for glide, with proportionally wider tips and a supportive nose and tail to keep a solid fore/aft balance. You get a mid-length that lifts early, accelerates smoothly, and stays comfortable when conditions turn more “freesurf”.
In practice, that means taking off without burning yourself out pumping and without having to oversize your wing: you ride cooler, longer, and with more efficiency, without sacrificing that easy, “stable enough” feel.
For 2026, the Diamond has been refined to boost glide even further, with around -5L at the same size. The outline that makes it work stays the same, but with less of that “pushing water” sensation: the board runs cleaner, accelerates more naturally, and the lowkite program becomes even more intuitive thanks to the extra glide. The rocker stays fast all the way into the nose, with just enough kick up front for comfort without killing acceleration.
Its positioning is clear: more compact and more versatile than a Cruzader, while offering more glide than a compact board. It’s exactly the right format for riders who want one board that’s efficient in wing foiling from light wind through freeride/freesurf, and truly coherent in lowkite. One detail matters a lot for that use: we deliberately keep extra deck pad length behind the rear-strap insert, so your toes stay on the pad when the lowkite pulls hard at the start, making control easier in that high-tension phase.
Comfort underfoot also steps up in 2026. The strap inserts are now fully flush with the deck pad: a flat surface with zero irritation, whether you’re lying down, kneeling, or standing. Strapless or in a more committed setup, contact is direct, with a feel very close to a hard board. The three rear-strap positions let you fine-tune your stance precisely and choose exactly where you sit between comfort and control, depending on your level and your style.
Like all HIPE boards, the Diamond relies on GONG’s hybrid technology: a rigid composite base for hold and precision, paired with an inflatable dropstitch volume for forgiveness, safety, and easy transport. The ICS plate delivers reference stiffness with no flex or twist, for a feel very close to a hard board and impressive durability. The weight optimization introduced in 2025 is obvious the moment you pick it up, and it directly improves everyday comfort.
Available in six sizes, from 5’0 to 6’6 (75L to 120L), the HIPE Diamond covers a wide range of riders and programs in wing lightwind, freeride, freefly, downwind/freesurf, and lowkite, with a simple logic: keep a fast, predictable, gliding board that’s easy to take anywhere. Tested by the Team in all conditions, including very strong wind and tropical heat, it’s a versatile, durable inflatable board built to support multiple seasons of progression.
STREAMLINED OUTLINE
This new mid-length shape features a sleek outline for optimal glide, smooth takeoffs, and effortless relaunches.
The wide tail provides plenty of lift before flight, ensuring excellent stability for takeoff.
The rounded nose is designed for comfort and confidence. It glides beautifully while offering just the right amount of support before takeoff, without the risk of nose-diving.
We’re hooked on its signature inflatable board glide. With rounded rails and a thick tail boosting speed before takeoff, you’ll be up and flying just as fast as on a hard board. It’s seriously mind-blowing.
Rocker
The tight rocker is ideal for boosting the takeoff phase.
The flat tail rocker enhances takeoff in light wind. In stronger conditions, it ensures quick relaunch, allowing the board to lift out of the water smoothly without being affected by chop and waves.
The slightly raised nose provides a soft touch and excellent glide before takeoff.
Rigid Tail Rail
To improve takeoff, our designers developed a rigid rail at the tail of the board, directly inspired by the sharp edge at the tail of rigid wing boards. This allows for a clean separation of the water flow at the end of the hull, resulting in better glide before takeoff and boosting acceleration.
In 2026, its integration goes even further, bringing it ever closer to rigid boards. Minimal bulk and explosive repop mean even less pumping and even earlier flight.
Diamond Tail
With the stiff rail and an extended waterline from the diamond tail, takeoffs get an extra shot of power.
Deck
The HIPE Diamond's deck is flat and streamlined.
Its pad covers the entire usable surface. Even more covering, with greater width, you'll find the grip you expect for any activity.
With the new inserts concealed in the pad, your feet are free when you're riding strapless. They will naturally slide into the straps whenever you want.
Rails
With its rounded rails and thick tail, the HIPE Diamond delivers incredible glide before takeoff. You’ll be up and flying as fast, as on a rigid board, especially with the added boost from the rigid tail rail. It’s seriously mind-blowing.

Buying guide
For whom?
Do you want an obvious glide, early take-off and minimal pumping, without switching to a long downwind board? The HIPE Diamond is made for that.
Its outline is narrower and more lively than an ultra-stable board: you therefore need to already be comfortable on a foil board, or have a minimum of experience to fully enjoy its performance.
For what?
The HIPE Diamond is the versatile board for gliding without overpowered and staying relaxed, whether winging or lowkiting. Its natural habitat is efficient lightwind, fast freeriding, freefly, and freesurfing, with that mid-length feel that maintains momentum before takeoff.
It boosts progression because it quickly gets up to speed and initiates takeoff cleanly. In its shorter sizes, it takes on a true performance orientation: more responsiveness, more commitment, and a level that can go very far in lightwind, fast cruising, and freefly downwinders.
Freeride, freefly, freesurf, live free is its motto ;-)
This is truly a board with superb glide. It's fantastic for boosting your progression and providing high-performance support. In its shorter lengths, the HIPE Diamond is seriously geared towards performance and top-level performance in its preferred disciplines of lightwind, freeride, and downwind riding.
What size?
The HIPE Diamond is a high-performance board for Wing and Lowkite. But by adjusting the volume, it can be adapted to our needs:
- Your weight plus 30 gives you the total liters needed to progress. Example: I weigh 70kg + 30 = 100L minimum to progress with a lively but easy board.
- Your weight plus 10 gives you the total liters needed for performance. Example: I weigh 70kg + 10 = 80L, ideally for progressing with a radical board.
Which quiver?
The HIPE Diamond is an incredible foil board, which can become the cornerstone of your quiver and that you can take with you anywhere.
An 85cm HM mast will be perfect for a relaxed ride.
You should of course complement it with a range of SUPs with or without foils, surfboards for days when the waves are there, etc… to enjoy every possible session.
Which shape should I choose?
The concepts behind each inflatable board in our range can be summarized very simply:
- HIPE FIRST: the perfect inflatable foil board for beginners and progression, strapless.
- HIPE LIKE: the alternative to the HIPE First designed to take off early and remain easy.
- HIPE LEARN: the inflatable for learning: flat on the water, first flights and SUP foil compatible.
- HIPE PERF: the inflatable with 95% of the performance of the rigid in an easy and progressive shape.
- HIPE CRUZADER: the inflatable “downwinder” for the highest performance in Wing in lightwind, lowkite and obviously in DW.
- HIPE DIAMOND: the mid-length board with the glide of a downwinder and the agility of a compact board.
- HIPE FREEFLY: the ultimate in strapless inflatable foil boarding.
- HIPE PRO: the inflatable board for scoring in surfing / freestyle.
Which foil wings?
Our V3 foil range is now grouped into 3 families:
- Perf Series for progression.
- Team Series for performance.
- Team Pro for competition.
For beginners:
In the Perf Series V3 range, our X-Over: the first ultra-easy and efficient wings at low speed:
- M for 50kg -> 65kg and all wind forces.
- L for 65kg -> 75kg and all wind forces.
- XL for 75kg -> 85kg and all wind strengths.
- XXL for 85kg and over or for winds less than 15 knots.
The Ascent foil: versatile and faster, for "all-terrain" performance:
S below 65kg and all wind strengths.
- M for 65kg -> 75kg and all wind forces.
- L for 75kg -> 85kg and all wind forces.
- XL for 85kg -> 95kg and all wind strengths.
- XXL for 95kg and over or for winds less than 15 knots
For experienced users:
In Team Series V3, here are our suggestions in line with the HIPE Diamond program:
- Curve H: Designed for turns, with a moderate+ aspect ratio and excellent control in all situations. Ideal for freeriding and waves, offering forgiveness and comfort.
- Fluid H: the cleanest and most efficient foil for linking turns at high or low speed, in a simple and constant glide.
- Veloce H: A foil designed for glide and speed, with a high aspect ratio for fantastic gliding while maintaining good rail-to-rail maneuverability. Perfect for freefly, surfing, and light wind conditions.
- Veloce HDW: Downwind version of the Veloce, with an extreme ratio for sessions requiring infinite glide: downwind, freefly, pumping, smooth surf, light wind… very efficient with little energy.
- Sirus: A foil with very high lift even at low speeds, for endless pumping and lightwind performance in marginal conditions. Its maneuverability in smaller sizes is perfect for small swells and slow bumps in downwind conditions.
General information on choosing stabilizer sizes:
The preferred size will depend on your equipment, your level, your weight, the conditions of your spot but also your front wing.
A larger stabilizer will facilitate takeoff because the foil will generate significant torque, which will tend to give it a steeper angle of attack. This also implies a more pronounced feedback under the front foot.
A smaller stabilizer will be more technically challenging to launch but will boost speed and maneuverability. You also lose some support on your front foot, which means you'll need to move the foil forward in the box to regain stability.
Always adjust the size of the stabilizer to the size of the front wing to achieve balanced flight and harmonious operation between these two components.
More information is available in the article on the V3 foil range, as well as a size guide specific to each foil on its product page. We also offer some advice below.
Which foil mast?
During your first sessions, you can feel more confident with a short mast (62cm). Falls during your first flights will be less dramatic. But apart from when launching, you will benefit greatly from a long mast (85cm and above).
More length = more margin = easier = better performance.
In choppy water, during transitions, in light winds, a long mast will be ten times more enjoyable. It will prevent you from touching the water and give you the necessary height margin in all your actions.
In pure racing, of course, the must-have is the 100 cm HM mast. Absolutely magical. But the 95 cm aluminium or 92 cm HM are also great.
In freerace, a long mast is also a must. It's no more difficult and it will make fast edges easier.
In freeride, we often look for simplicity and versatility. The 85 cm is the obvious choice. 92 cm for those who want more margin.
In freestyle, we recommend 85 cm to keep a dynamic and controllable rail to rail.
In Surf, we favour radicality and control, so 85 cm. But in solid waves, 92 cm will give you more margin to apply huge angles without dramatically ventilating at the bottom, for example.
Finally, note that a 1.5° rake wedge under an 85 cm mast will give you the nose up margin of a 92 cm. It's the ultimate trick.
In summary, for waves and freestyle, but also for beginners and those looking to improve, an 85 mast (V3 or HM depending on your budget) is ideal. Easy to launch, easy to switch from one rail to the other, it's perfect.
A 92 cm mast and above is designed for racing, offering more margin at high speed in choppy conditions but less manoeuvrability.
Foil positioning?
For GONG foils, place the plate in the center of the US rails to start and move it forward a few centimeters when you start transitions (sign of good progress).
The further forward you move it, the more the board rises. The further back you move it, the more the nose of the board dips.
Be careful not to move it too far forward. There's often a tendency to not let the back foot do the work, especially when coming from kitefoiling. However, moving the foil back a little forces you to put more weight on your back foot, resulting in a more balanced stance and reduced effort.
What accessories?
Safety is of paramount importance for the practice of board sports, and even more so when it comes to foil sports.
A wing leash is essential . Once released, if the wing is not held by its leash, it will immediately fly away several dozen meters from you, and it will only stop its course once it is blocked by an obstacle which will damage it in most cases.
A board leash is also very important, especially when learning. It keeps your board close to you. You keep a safety float within easy reach and, most importantly, prevent it from injuring others. Choose a 6-foot leash with a minimum diameter of 7mm. Check its condition before each session and replace it annually. It's your life jacket.
To practice in the best conditions, it is absolutely necessary to wear a protective helmet and an impact vest .
We have also developed a range of Bodyguard textiles , which provide additional protection against the risk of cuts associated with foiling. The risk is always present, but it is even greater during the learning phase.
We strongly recommend that you protect yourself as much as possible.
Strapped or strapless? 2 or 3 straps?
In wing foiling, riding strapless is sexy because you feel free. But quite honestly, the performance is pretty sluggish…
So it's up to you to decide if feel is more important than performance. With a HIPE Perf, you'll clearly miss out on a large part of its potential without a strap.
With the front straps, you'll have much more control and far less risk of the foil flipping over under your feet. When you're starting out, the front straps are an essential reference point for proper foot placement. You'll save a ton of time.
In the waves, it's obvious; you gain a huge amount with straps, including the back strap. You can recover from crazy situations just by pulling on your feet. And what about tricks? The repertoire is tenfold with straps. All jumps are possible, and the cushioning of the inflatable board is amazing for your knees ;-)
Take your first steps with just the front straps. You can add the rear strap as it will provide a good reference point for positioning your foot just in front, and a good grip. But don't use it at first. Once you're comfortable in flight, consider moving the foil back 2cm to get used to the rear strap.
With the multi-position strap inserts, you can choose the stance (the distance between your front and back foot) that suits your size and your riding style: forward foot for comfort or back foot for carrying weight, it's up to you! It's a real plus!
Good to know:
Never leave your board in the sun, especially an inflatable board, and even less so a black carbon fiber board, which will heat up very quickly. You risk it peeling off!
Don't screw in beyond the bottom of the box, or you'll end up inside the inflatable. We supply non-through US squares, but be careful.
Never let your foil board get tossed around in the waves, especially near the shore. You must protect it from major impacts. A wave that sweeps your board away and rolls it can cause serious damage.
Equipments
SCS System
The composite plate is equipped with Smart Connection System (SCS) double entry boxes to easily install and adjust the foil. The double holes correspond to the stance of the holes in your GONG foil plate. Simply present the foil with the brass nuts already mounted on the plate, slide them into the rails without disassembling, tighten the 4 screws, and you're ready to go.
To facilitate foil assembly, our new US fixing brass nuts are connected by a carbon fiber rod and are included with the board. This saves time for foil assembly, and the adjustment is precise. No more risk of losing your brass nuts: you leave them screwed on the plate and slide them into the US rails using the 4 new insertion holes. There's nothing to disassemble: just tighten the screws and go!
Foil adjustment is also easier and more precise with the adjustment information engraved on the plate.
Carrying handle
The handle in the carbon plate, placed on the hull, is a real comfort enhancement for launching and carrying over short distances. And it has no impact on the rigidity and strength of our plate, which are flawless.
Footstraps
The set of 3 footstraps is included with the board.
Developed for wing foiling , these moderately covering straps don't crease when you put them on. There's less surface area on the instep, so there's less risk of getting caught or hitting your foot on the edge of the strap when putting them on quickly. This also allows for better support downwind (balls of the foot) and therefore a more natural wing foiling stance.
Reinforced and padded , they are precise in piloting but still very comfortable .
The double V-shaped front footstrap perfectly centers the foot on the front of the board. This results in a more natural stance and allows for direct and precise control during maneuvers.
With 3 rear strap positions, you can adjust your stance to suit your riding style: comfort or commitment, YOU choose YOUR program. Without straps, the pad remains flat underfoot and you no longer feel any discomfort because the strap inserts are cleverly integrated into the pad.
Every detail has been carefully considered to enhance your experience on the water.
Full deck pad
The premium full-length 5mm pad delivers maximum grip and comfort while riding.
With its Ridge Traction grooving, borrowed from our hard boards, it delivers superior comfort, unmatched non-slip performance for maximum stability and offers firm support with the best grip and comfort during navigation.
Unlike the dropstitch surface of the board, the pad provides instant feedback—you’ll immediately feel whether your foot is correctly positioned.
Compartmented carrying bag
The HIPE Diamond comes in a super practical and durable wheeled travel bag.
Generously sized, it holds your HIPE, foil, and wing while staying within baggage limits on most airlines.
The backpack straps are thickly padded for extra comfort, while the reinforced handles are both sturdy and pleasant to grip.
Integrated compartments on the inside front panel allow for secure and organized storage of your foil parts and hardware. Plus, compression straps minimize the bag’s volume for easy transport.
Pump, screws and repair kit
The fast double-action pump included is highly efficient, so you’ll be the first one on the water.
The board comes with all necessary screws for the straps and foil top plate.
A repair kit is also included in case of damage (please note that the kit does not include glue, but you can easily find PVC glue at your local hardware store). We also keep spare components in stock, so you can easily restore your board to like-new condition. Everything on an inflatable board is repairable!
