The smooth and precise wing for surfing and riding with total fluidity.

Presentation

The Neutra Perf 2026 is the perfect wing for modern wave riding and cool freeride, offering total versatility in grip options.

It’s the softest and smoothest in the range, the one that completely fades away at key moments to let you focus on surfing or free flying. Its neutrality is legendary, and for 2026 it gains more power and dynamism to match today’s riding expectations. You can now harness the wing more in the waves, like a windsurf sail, while still keeping its unique ability to disappear when surfing.

The new 2026 shape brings a major evolution. The span is significantly reduced and the tips, now squarer, are set back. This gives greater compactness, maneuverability, and control in committed bottom turns. The chord has been slightly increased, bringing more torque and traction without altering the Neutra’s signature smoothness.

The leading edge is more curved and more set back near the tips, with improved segmentation that ensures perfectly even behavior. Under load, the tips can twist—but always in a controlled way—delivering steady, precise, well-balanced traction. This new stability keeps the power exactly where you want it, without unwanted variations, for clean and predictable handling.

The profile is slightly deeper than before, delivering more drive and acceleration while still being fully neutralizable when you depower. This allows you to use a smaller surface in the waves, take off more easily—especially with a small foil—and handle gusts with complete ease. The feeling in the hands remains highly refined: smooth, responsive, and comfortable.

Delivered with rigid handles, the Neutra Perf 2026 offers precise and comfortable steering. The front handle, with optimized positioning, aligns the hand perfectly with the arm and pull direction, ensuring exceptional comfort. The longer rear handle allows free hand placement and optimal positioning of the harness line.

Depending on your preference, you can replace these handles with a boom for continuous control, or opt for textile handles for more flexibility and comfort in gusts. Switching between systems is as simple as screwing or unscrewing four small bolts on the adapters, supplied with each system. Unlike other brands, our strap-based attachment system—wrapping the entire strut—is ultra-strong and does not wear out over time. Boom and textile handle systems are sold separately, so each rider only buys what they truly need.

Another advantage: this version packs into a compact backpack, similar in size to a kite bag, making it practical for daily transport. A real plus for travelers or anyone wanting to minimize bulk.

Built with Dacron, featuring advanced stitching and optimized reinforcements, the Neutra Perf 2026 combines strength and durability. More breathable and softer than Aramid, it still delivers a surprisingly close level of performance to an Aramid 2025, while offering accessible and forgiving handling. The Perf technology guarantees outstanding solidity and maximum durability, allowing you to ride session after session without worrying about the gear.

The Neutra Perf 2026 is all about the joy of a compact, powerful, and intuitive wing, adapting to all your needs and taking you further, higher, and longer—whatever your ambitions.

Shape
Highly segmented leading edge

The new segmentation with four short segments at the tips boosts the wing’s spin, provides more forgiveness, and reduces the impact of tip touches on the water.

The distribution of the leading edge is very even, maintaining a short section at the center, which makes the wing very rigid in this area. This consistency ensures perfect twist control, which gradually increases toward the tips. The center of the wing pulls, while the tips absorb gusts, providing complete control.

Moderate ratio

The Neutra features a more compact outline. Its moderate aspect ratio offers the ideal compromise between improved maneuverability and high efficiency. It cranks upwind efficiently and allows for great fluidity in maneuvers.

The moderate span also makes pumping more natural and intuitive by lifting the tips higher off the water.

Rounded leading edge

The leading edge has been re-segmented for increased smoothness, better rotation, and a lighter feel.

The curvature enhances maneuverability.

The leading edge arc releases the Neutra, enabling it to shift orientation with ease, particularly when steered with the downwind/surf handle.

The wing can be effortlessly reoriented with minimal pressure. It provides extremely smooth, fine control. This is true on reaches, particularly upwind, but especially when surfing with the wing in hand. It places itself exactly as you direct it, in the blink of an eye.

This curve adds smoothness to its entry into the air. The Neutra is progressive and free. It’s an extremely intuitive wing, with no roughness, offering very fluid handling.

The wing doesn’t snag when it touches the water. Perfect for pumping, maneuvers, and especially when surfing with the wing in hand. Instead, you can sometimes lean on the tip, or at least never worry about water contact, such as during bottom turns.

Limited tip twist

On the Neutra 2026, as across the entire range, the base twist has been eliminated: the draft remains locked in place, and the pull is perfectly stable.

At the tips, only a dynamic twist remains, controlled by segmentation. This micro-twist activates only under wind pressure, releasing excess power and converting it into glide and acceleration.

The gradual tapering of the leading edge diameter toward the ends enhances this controlled “breathing”: the wing retains its power, but with a consistent and predictable feel in the hands.

Thin profile

The thin profile is designed for maximum glide and exceptional lightness in the hands.

It’s smoother, more centered, and more balanced: the wing never pulls you. You get just the right amount of power, without any excess.

It feels noticeably more precise and agile.

Navigating without a harness remains easy. It pulls forward without yanking, relying on its glide finesse for performance. It’s a high-performance wing with no limits.

Z-shaped strut

The Neutra retains its magical Z-shaped central strut, but with a thinner diameter.

The panels are cut perpendicular to the strut for greater strength under high pressure.

The connection with the central segments of the leading edge is solid.

The middle third is built to resist flexing in hand, as flexing here would create the major part of the canopy's opening. This ensures the wing stays even more taut, delivering increased power and precision.

Finally, the rear third of the strut is sewn directly onto the canopy without a hollow panel, which increases the strut’s thickness near the rear hand and provides greater resistance to deformation under wind pressure. The strut is thus twice as rigid, ensuring consistent shape during jumps or gusts.

The rear hand has a direct influence on the canopy's trailing edge thanks to the positioning of the rear handle point just after the beginning of the wide cone. Pulling on the rear hand closes the strut, preventing it from opening as with traditional struts.

This setup minimizes flap and delivers remarkable power. The added rigidity enables fine control of the wing and ensures consistent behavior.

Delivered as standard with rigid carbon handles

Each wing comes with a set of rigid carbon handles. Made from 100% pre-preg carbon tubing, they combine lightness, stiffness, and absolute reliability. Since their launch, we’ve recorded zero breakages—a guarantee of unmatched strength on the market.

Designed with precise structural engineering, these handles ensure exemplary safety and user comfort. At GONG, quality and reliability are not optional extras, but a design philosophy.

The longer rear handle allows for easy adjustment of hand placement according to your stance and preferences. Longitudinal stitching ensures optimal stiffness and instant control, inspired by the success of our downwind handles.

Finally, thanks to the integrated GFS system, your wing is fully upgradeable: you can swap the rigid handles for a boom for greater freedom, or textile handles for more forgiveness. This modularity allows your wing to evolve with your skill level, riding style, and sailing programs.

Image

One wing, 3 handle systems

Equipped with our innovative GFS (GONG Fastening System) of interchangeable handles, this wing lets you change handles according to your preferences, program, and the conditions.

With just two turns of a key, you can customize your wing based on your preferences, upgrading from the standard rigid carbon handles to textile handles or our carbon boom.

This innovative system tailors your wing to your level, sensations, and session type, enhancing your overall experience.

Image

GFS V2 system

The geometries of the handle support and elbows of the GFS V2 system introduced in 2025 bring notable improvements:

  • Less play, with a firmer, more direct contact for better control of your wing
  • 150 grams lighter for a set of handles and 40 grams saved on a boom
  • Zero rotation of assembled parts for zero wear
  • Assembly remains just as simple and easy with your Torx 30 foil key

A solution perfectly compatible with your textile handles, rigid handles, or boom in the GFS V1 system. You simply need to mount them on the V2 handle support of your new wing: learn more about the backward compatibility of the GFS V1 and V2 systems.

Shape evolutions: segmentation

On this version of the Neutra, we significantly improved several aspects of the shape.

The redistribution of the segmentation with 4 short sections on the tips boosts maneuverability and glide in the air. It spins faster and carves harder. This also allows the wing to roll better on the water during difficult trick landings or in foam when coming down from airs. The tips are more progressive, giving the wing a more forgiving feel and reducing the ON/OFF effect.

Shape evolutions: outline

On this version of the Neutra, we significantly improved several aspects of the shape.

The leading edge has been set back, which reduces the surface area at the tips and recenters the wing’s power. This gives a much lighter feel and speeds up wing rotation during maneuvers and tricks.

Buying guide

For whom?

Glide lovers, freeflyers, and waveriders—welcome!

The Neutra is designed for riders seeking a light, responsive, and ultra-high-performance wing, without sacrificing accessibility. Whether you’re a motivated beginner, a seasoned rider, or an expert chasing finesse, this wing adapts to everyone thanks to its forgiving and intuitive design.

You don’t need the physique of a lumberjack or the stamina of a marathon runner to unlock its potential. The Neutra breathes with you, supports your progress, and helps you improve effortlessly.

For what?

The Neutra Perf shines in every aspect of waveriding:

  • Take-offs between waves: its lightweight build makes pumping easy and intuitive, while the rounded tips help flip the wing smoothly between foamy sections.

  • Intuitive surfing: precise, fluid handling lets you carve radical lines without ever cramping your style.

  • Jumps: it delivers enough lift to launch, with a solid core stiffness for big height and glide. The rounded tips also help with clean landings, ready for the next move.

  • Maneuvers: smooth and discreet in flight, it keeps transitions under control—tacks, jibes, 360s… everything flows naturally.

It’s also an outstanding freefly wing, perfect for cruising without constraints, with breathtaking neutrality. Let it disappear when you glide, then instantly tap back into power the moment you need it.

Bonus: While it shines downwind, one of its biggest assets is its impressive upwind ability—so you can string together downwind runs without compromise.

Neutra or Droid?

  • Neutra: Ideal for those who prioritize surfing and smooth gliding.

  • Droid: Powerful, compact, and agile, it’s perfect for freestyle addicts. Ideal for those who like it strong, it’s perfect for throwing tricks and going all out in freeride, while still excelling in surfing.

Each model has its own personality, but they all share a common goal: to provide you with the best experience on the water, with style and performance.

Understanding the GONG range

  • Plus: A versatile, accessible wing designed for progression.

  • Droid: Explosive power for surfing and freestyle.

  • Neutra: The fluid wing for surfing, freefly, and endless carving.

Whether you're a beginner or an expert, the Neutra is here to enhance your riding. Light, smooth, and precise: simply irresistible.

What size?

Don’t overestimate the power of wings. A rider weighing 85kg will need 15-20 knots with a 5m² wing to fly at first. After about fifteen sessions, they will be able to fly at 15 knots with a 5m². And if they are athletic, they will pump hard and lift off at 12 knots in 5m² to get through lulls at 8 knots. This is a learning process and takes time.

Which material?

The choice of leading edge material depends mainly on your program and goals. If you prefer cruising in freeride, are just starting tricks, or enjoy surf and freefly, a Dacron leading edge and central strut will be ideal.

If, on the other hand, you love riding hard with a wing that pulls powerfully and will fly sky high, don’t hesitate! The UPE Aramid will provide absolute stiffness with undeniable advantages. The performance gap is significant—it goes faster, higher, and turns incredibly well thanks to its thinner diameters.

Finally, to push even further into the performance realm, combine the UPE Aramid structure with the ultra-rigid Code X canopy fabric. You’ll boost your performance by 15%, reaching the pinnacle of high-level wing performance.

Which quiver?

The Neutra wing works with everything but pairs especially well with a compact, lightweight board—or a Cruzader for light wind.

Here are the typical pairings:

  • Cruzader for light wind

  • Mint for freeride

  • Stunt for freestyle

  • Mint, a short Cruzader, a Squash or a Lethal for freefly

  • Lethal for surf

Naturally, it’s best matched with a performance-oriented foil, with an 85cm mast. Ideal foil pairings:

  • Veloce HDW or Sirus for light wind

  • Fluid for freeride

  • Ypra Surf-Freestyle for freestyle

  • Veloce for freefly

  • Curve or Fluid for surf

To complete the setup, you can (and should) add a SUP or a surf foil for no-wind days, a kite to get airborne and probably a quiver of surfboards for those perfect waves. But if you’re venturing into wing foiling, chances are you already have some of these toys in your garage.

What leash?

A wing leash from 5'5" to 8' is ideal. Preferably one designed specifically for winging, and of the coiled-type leash style. A short leash makes it easier to grab the wing quickly. A long leash keeps the wing further away from foil drops in the sail, giving it more space to move.

Always check its condition before each session and replace it every year. It’s your life vest.

Don’t let your wing flap around in the wind at the end of the leash, it’s not indestructible! Also, in the waves, don’t hold onto the wing with the leash, it will break or you may injure yourself.

Harness or not?

When riding the Neutra, the harness is really not essential. It’s a great wing with bare hands.

Riding without a harness feels liberating as you have full freedom of movement. It’s a very pleasant feeling.

That being said, you’ll need to use a smaller wing and do shorter reaches to avoid tiring out your arms. This also means you'll have to pump frequently to take off again.

All our wings come with harness line attachments.

This gives you the option to use a harness or not.

Therefore, if you prefer to ride powered up, using a harness is almost essential if you don’t want your sessions to be cut short after an hour. Setting up the harness lines is very easy (refer to our tutorials on the forum). We suggest using the least rigid and most minimal harness, with either a small hook or a windsurf-style hook for better comfort.

Lengths of 24 to 28 cm between the strut and the V-shape’s end will be perfect.

A length of 30 to 32 cm makes learning easier. A small diameter line and a thin sheath are essential, as windsurfing lines, for example, are too heavy and rigid, making them dangerous during tacks and other tricks.

So it’s up to you to decide if the sensation and aesthetics take priority over performance. But more and more riders are using harnesses, as the trend is towards more powerful wings and higher performance.

Soft handles, semi-rigid handles, rigid handles, or boom?

The choice is yours, but the trend towards the boom is clear:

  • Soft textile handles for beginners, for surfing, for freefly, to protect yourself and the board, and for a very light wing.

  • Semi-rigid textile handles for a good level of performance thanks to precise and responsive handling, as well as better energy transmission during pumping, for example.

  • Carbon rigid handles to keep it light and generate stronger traction. Handling is extremely precise. The pistol grip on the front handle is very comfortable and practical.

  • Boom for maximum power and a true “windsurf” sensation. You have the freedom to grip the wing as you wish. It allows for more tricks and a broader range of use, all while being very lightweight, contrary to what you might think.

Handles offer very compact storage in a backpack, while the boom is stored lengthwise. However, it's worth noting that you can fit just as many boom wings as handle wings in a board bag. The boom doesn’t take up more space, it just occupies it differently.

Windows or full canopy?

Wings without windows are less expensive, 200g lighter, and more compact for storage.

Wings with windows are safer, more rigid, and offer quicker responsiveness.

For beginners, a wing with windows is essential because safety takes priority over the few grams you might lose. The windows are not for sightseeing: they are designed to let you see a silhouette to prevent executing a dangerous turn that could cause a collision.

Equipments

Integrated harness end attachment system

Two discreetly placed harness attachments on the strut let you connect your GONG harness line, allowing you to ride for long hours without fatigue.

Semi-rigid textile Downwind handle.

Almost rigid, it greatly enhances the control of the wing in both freefly and surfing.

The new oval stitching and reinforcements on the downwind handle anchor points help distribute the forces more evenly across the leading edge, ensuring long-lasting durability.

The Dyneema leash attachment is now located on the intrados side of the DW handle, preventing the leash from getting in the way while freeflying.

A set of rigid carbon handles

A set of rigid carbon handles is included with your wing. The rear handle is larger to adjust the placement of your hand.

The integrated GFS system allows you to upgrade your wing with a boom or textile handles to adapt your wing to your level or specific needs.

Quick inflation with the One Pump system

The leading edge and central strut are connected by the One Pump system for quick inflation in one go. The clip then locks the airflow between the bladders to ensure the wing’s buoyancy in case of a leak in the strut or leading edge. This feature is vital for safety.

The inflation valve on the leading edge is doubled on the strut for immediate deflation and compact storage. Using One Pump, you inflate through the leading edge only in a few seconds and deflate just as quickly by unscrewing both valves.

Fiberglass micro-battens

Micro fiberglass battens on the trailing edge: light and very effective in preventing flapping. They maintain the profile all the way to the trailing edge for optimal airflow.

Lightweight and strong, they are easily replaceable to keep your wing in top condition year after year.

Camera safety loops

To capture your wing sessions, we’ve added a discreet nylon leash attachment on each tip and near the strut to secure your camera mounted on the leading edge or strut with a Flymount, allowing you to ride without stress. The leash attachment is strategically placed so it doesn’t interfere with your camera’s field of view! You’ll be able to create stunning shots and share them without the risk of losing your camera!

Repair kit

A repair kit, including bladder patches and fabric, is included with your wing.

Carry bag

A durable and practical backpack comes with your wing. It’s perfectly designed with a large U-shaped zipper for easy storage, a ventilation grid, comfortable padding, compression straps, and straps for the pump (not provided).

Don't forget to bring a pump!

Frequent questions
Neutra boom or Neutra with carbon rigid handles?

Is the Neutra a beginner wing?

The Neutra is an easy wing, ideal for beginners, as it flies smoothly and is very maneuverable. However, the Plus is more powerful and compact, making it better suited for learning and progressing. A beginner needs traction to take off and a more compact design to pump without catching water.

Is the Neutra a lightweight wing?

Undoubtedly, the Neutra is a light wing that also provides an incredible sensation of lightness thanks to its slim profile. It is smooth and highly responsive.

Which wave wing should I choose?

Within our comprehensive range, we offer several wings tailored for wave riding. Depending on your conditions and experience, you should lean towards one model or another.

  • Plus: A perfect progression wing, it’s also the most versatile in the range. It excels in all programs, offering great performance in the waves with solid power for upwind and perfect balance for freefly/surf.
  • Droid: Surf / freestyle at the highest level with this wing, which is both a real catapult and incredibly subtle when surfing. Powerful, you can ride with very little wind, allowing you to use the smallest wing possible in the waves. Its small wingspan makes surfing easier, especially with the handles in hand.
  • Neutra : 100% waves, this is the most efficient wing for surfing and freefly. Light, ultra-maneuverable, and smooth, it has all the qualities of a pure surf wing.

Neutra or Droid?

  • If you primarily want to surf and also send tricks in the waves, go for the Neutra.
  • If you want to focus on freestyle performance but also enjoy waveriding when conditions allow, choose the Droïd.

Both wings perform incredibly well in all areas, but each one shines in its own way! ;)

What is the difference in pumping between a Neutra and a Droid?

The draft and the ratio are almost the opposite on these two wave wings.

The Neutra is quite conventional in pumping, with a soft and progressive takeoff, relying on a moderate traction sensation. You can feel the tips working during pumping, which gives it a very pleasant and classic feel.

The Droid is a catapult that pulls forward with an important draft but a very reduced wingspan. It pulls decisively, without any hesitation, at the slightest puff of wind, and accelerates instantly without snagging the water.

Before takeoff, when underpowered, the Neutra will give a very light pull that you'll need to stimulate with some pumping, while the Droid will always provide a firm push to initiate pumping.

The Droid will offer better performance with an underpowered board in light winds. Conversely, you may prefer the smooth glide of the Neutra on a board that glides easily, like a Cruzader.

What is the recommended inflation pressure?

The recommended pressure is shown in the table below:

Several factors should be taken into account:

  • An underinflated wing will be unstable and hard to control in gusty winds.
  • An overinflated wing increases the risk of bursting during a crash and will wear out the seams and materials faster.
  • If you leave your wing inflated in the sun for long periods, we suggest slightly deflating it to prevent seam fatigue.
  • The larger the leading edge diameter, the greater the risk of bursting. Avoid overinflating large wings.
How to maintain my wing equipment?

To extend the lifespan of your equipment, the way you use it and its regular maintenance will be crucial.

One important tip is to avoid leaving your wing inflated for long periods when not in use! The flapping of the fabric in the wind can lead to premature wear on the materials, as can prolonged exposure to UV rays.

Frequent rinsing of your wing with running water is also not recommended. The chlorine present in tap water can damage the surface treatments of your wing. Instead, it’s better to store your wing dry and remove any excess sand

In case of a punctured strut or leading edge, use your repair kit or consult our spare parts catalog to order the replacement part.

Systematically inspect the condition of your wing. Look for any holes or cuts and repair them before they worsen.
