TECH TALK: THE NOTW, SCURA AND INTRUDER MID-LENGTH FOILING BOARDS
A new field of possibilities opens up with our three mid-length prone foiling surf boards! Uncatchable waves, because they barely...
The Scura is 100% high performance with absolute fluidity.
The Scura is both a simple and radical board.
Its streamlined shape enhances glide when paddling and in carves. There’s a lot of surface under your chest or front foot, and not much in the front or behind.
Carving is always more aggressive with a beautiful pin tail, and its tapered rails keep the Scura out of the water when leaning in your turns.
The rails are thin to enhance the feeling of freedom and further reduce contact with the water. A pure and fluid line, a gorgeous shape.
The nose bulb brings additional comfort when paddling and at take off. It takes off early and effortlessly, whatever the type of wave.
The Scura is reactive and fluid, it allows you to catch waves early and to carve endlessly. Pumping is easy, there are no touchdowns in turns. Absolute perfection!
Smaller sizes (4’4 / 4’6 / 4’8 / 4’10) are designed to suit all body sizes. No matter your level, there is inevitably a Scura to boost your sessions.
The large sizes (5’10 / 6’10 / 7’10) are intended for a mid length / longboard and prone downwind use. Capable of taking off on wind waves, swell bumps and super tiny waves, the large Scuras also offer stability and speed in case of a long paddle back to the peak.

The curved outline of the Scura provides great comfort when paddling, a perfect stability and great speed: you can catch any type of wave. The bulk is minimum in carves, and allows for the most radical turns.
The hull of the Scura is all about comfort. The double concave provides glide, stability when paddling and makes touchdowns inconsequential. The facetted rails accentuate glide, allows the board to stick less to the water and slim it.
The pin tail and kick tail of the Scura provide additional freedom of movement and minimum bulk in carves. The water flow is smoother, paddling becomes more efficient.
Less contact with water, more speed, more performance and fun.
The nose bulb of the Scura allows you to position the volume for easy paddling and repop.
More volume to the nose allows the flat deck plan to be lowered to foot level, and offers perfect connection to the foil.
Mid-length Surf Foil Boards
We all dream of surfing these perfect but unsurfable waves offered by nature. With these bigger and narrow boards you can surf foil in conditions where only a SUP foiling board would be able to catch a wave.
There are people who love the feeling of taking off with a surfboard. It's very fulfilling: choosing the right wave, paddling, accelerating, getting up, dropping... taking off with a surf foiling board on a swell line that’s barely rising is ultra satisfying.
No need to find your balance standing on a narrow board with the paddle. You can paddle on your belly, wait seated, exactly as you would do with a retro longboard but with flying as your objective and the possibility to connect multiple waves.
A real plus in your quiver: a session saver!!!
Not to mention these boards are just beautiful to watch.
Downwind Surf Foiling Boards
Downwinders on SUP foil are as magical as they are hard to get into for most people. It’s a very demanding discipline (let’s just say standing on a downwind board in choppy waters requires serious skills ;-) ). Obviously it can be learned, and newcomers get into this surreal sport everyday.
We wanted to offer an alternative with downwind surf foiling boards having a high paddle speed, capable of starting lying down for a take off on a swell bump, so that surfers with an excellent paddle technique can downwind without having to learn how to do SUP.
Be careful, we don’t recommend anyone to try downwinder without sufficient practice and experience. You need to be appropriately trained on wind waves and offshore conditions before hoping to achieve a real prone downwind (with one or more safety devices, and never alone).
Fortunately for training, large boards are excellent paddlers and, on windy days, they will allow you to take off on offshore waves, only a couple of hundred meters from the beach, without effort: micro downwinds which are excellent training.
Here are a few recommendations on the choice of NOTW, Scura and Intruder size you need depending on your practice:
If you’re looking for a board to surf small waves or short period wind waves, the mid length boards from 5’8 to 6’10 are ideal for you. Fast when paddling and almost as responsive in flight as a small board, it's great.
If you want to do micro downwinders on waves/wind bumps, the mid lengths from 6’10 to 8’ will be perfect.
If your goal is to do prone downwinders (once well trained, fine-tuned, and with the necessary safety devices), you will need to opt for at least the sizes 7’8 and 7’10.
With its perfect grip and 3mm thickness, the new Ridge Traction Pad provides absolute comfort and grip. Your support is perfectly stable, and your control surgically precise.

Buying guide
Intermediate to expert surfers looking for a board that’s both comfortable and high-performance, whatever the conditions.
4’4 to 4’10 for all types of surf foilable waves.
5’10 to 6’10 for windy days or small waves, similar program and wave type as a mid-length.
The 7’10 is suitable for a longboard use and if you want to ride on tiny waves or wind waves. For the more athletic and adventurous, this is the only size we recommend for discovering downwind surf foiling.
The Scura boards are perfect with the Curve H, Fluid H, Veloce H, Veloce HDW or Sirus.
The Curve H is a combo of responsiveness and lift.
It’s the queen for carving and low end conditions (which does not mean it can’t handle speed, on the contrary!). It is also the most comfortable foil for pumping, which allows you to make numerous connections when surf foiling without burning your thighs.
The Fluid H is a combo of responsiveness and speed.
Perfect for turning very short, going fast, glide and enjoying a very dynamic drive. Add to that a very powerful pop and you understand why this foil will go wherever you want, in the water or in the air!
The Veloce H is a combo of glide and versatility.
It is a freefly and downwind machine. It’s the foil to glide and connect bumps endlessly with incomparable fluidity. Accelerations on the wave are stunning and it has a very low stall speed which facilitates flight in all circumstances.
The Veloce HDW: 100% glide.
To be even more focused on infinite glide, the Veloce HDW. The queen in downwinders.
The Sirus : the ultimate high aspect wing to fly longer than everyone else in marginal conditions and for dock start sessions.
We recommend pairing a Veloce H stab with your Veloce H front wing, as these two components are designed for the same program and optimized to work in perfect harmony.
General information on the choice of stab sizes:
The preferred size will depend on your foiling discipline, your level, your weight, the conditions of your spot but also your front wing
