OUTLINE
With an aspect ratio of 7.0, the Ascent stands out as a very versatile wing, performing excellently across a broad spectrum of conditions for all levels. Its performance is perfectly balanced, providing both a playful feel and fantastic glide.
The Ascent's crescent outline provides increased maneuverability, allowing the foil to carve effortlessly and stabilize naturally in turns, without losing grip.
VERSATILE PROFILE
Versatility is central to the Ascent's design, which is why we created it with a profile that meets all the requirements of freeride foil activities. The wing is stable, fast, offering great glide and easy pumping.
HIGH DIHEDRAL
In order to provide maximum grip and stability in turns, the dihedral of the Ascent is very pronounced. This results in a high level of confidence and reliability in all conditions, whether in tacks or in maneuvers.
This dihedral also provides comfort on upwind runs, offering a margin to prevent the tips from coming out of the water at the slightest misstep.
FIXED SETTINGS
You will find your settings from the previous version and all GONG foils on your board.
This balance of forces is precisely calculated to ensure a consistent feel, especially when switching from one front wing to another during a session.

This is the front wing for riders who want solid performance but without stressing out on every acceleration or turn.
So, riders with a good background in board sports, and those who engage in several disciplines, will find the Ascent a fantastic wing that will drive most of their progression to a higher level.
The Ascent could also work for sporty beginners looking for a versatile and progressive wing. However, considering GONG's prices, we suggest choosing a wing that’s specifically tailored to your current skill level (a X-over would be a better choice for beginners).
For what?
The Ascent V3 is the epitome of coolness. Versatile, it excels at everything.
A version of the Curve without the H, it’s a great evolution of the Curve V2 for riders looking for quick progression and adaptability. With all the V3 parts, it offers amazing glide despite a more compact ratio. The perfect choice for having fun and advancing in your progression.
Built for versatile riding, providing excellent stability and maneuverability, along with good speed, it’s the wing that caters to the needs of a wide range of conditions for intermediate riders.
This is the wing for those who don’t want a physical challenge while foiling. It works great, and it’s easy. No need to exhaust yourself pumping or forcing things – it’s a laid-back wing that makes everything you want to do feel awesome.
Which size?
Some general principles for choosing the right front wing size:
Your ideal size will depend on your board, skill level, weight, spot conditions, as well as your board and wing setup.
In wing, all sizes are suitable. The heavier the rider and/or the weaker the wind, the larger the wing size needed. Conversely, lighter riders who are comfortable with take-offs can opt for smaller sizes.
For surf/SUP foil, the goal is to have a surface that’s small enough to turn easily but large enough to offer comfort for take-offs and pumping.
In pumping, you’ll want to go for the largest surface possible to take off without waves or wind. You can reduce the surface as you improve to gain more speed.
In kite, it’s best to avoid wings with more than 74 cm of span, as the counter-tilt is significant and the tips of the foil can easily break the surface. Therefore, wings with a lower aspect ratio are recommended for beginners, as they provide a lot of lift for a limited span.

Which stab?
We recommend pairing an Ascent stabilizer with your Ascent front wing, as these two components are designed for the same program and optimized to work in perfect harmony.
Some general principles for choosing the right stab size:
The size you choose will depend on your sport, experience level, weight, spot conditions, but MOST OF ALL, on your front wing.
A larger stabilizer will make takeoff easier by generating more torque, which gives the foil a steeper angle of attack. This also leads to a more pronounced feedback under the front foot.
A smaller stabilizer will be more challenging during takeoff but will enhance speed and maneuverability. You’ll also lose some support on the front foot, meaning you may need to shift the foil forward in the box to restore stability.
Always adjust the size of the stabilizer to match the size of the front wing to ensure balanced flight and harmonious functioning between these two components.
