Foil Carbon Mast V2
The rigid and reliable full carbon mast.
Program
The rigid and reliable full carbon mast.
Description
This new full carbon prepreg mast is the perfect compromise between weight, rigidity and strength for achieving ultimate performance. The profile has been worked throughout the mast to limit flex and torsion as much as possible while maintaining great glide: the fast profile at the base of the mast turns into a fuller profile at the top of the mast to block the flex.
- The 70cm length brings this little extra that makes the difference in the curves and pumping compared to a 65cm aluminum mast, without penalizing the take off in small waves with a foil that would scratch the bottom.
- The length of 85cm brings great versatility and tolerance in different programs. No need for a lot of depth, easy curves without getting overwhelmed, absolute rigidity, maneuvering and pumping is very efficient.
- The length of 100cm provides all the height necessary for comfort and performance in wing and kite foiling. Far from the choppy water and having considerable margins, we can go faster, stronger, further in the actions. Even when surfing with a wing or a kite, the gain is significant.
Note: The fuselage V2 is sold separately from the carbon mast.
Your benefits are clear:
- More dynamism with 100% Prepreg carbon draping.
- Best weight / rigidity compromise thanks to high pressure molding in one pass.
- No play possible thanks to the conical assembly.
- Solidity thanks to the V2 aluminum fuselage which absorbs the twists.
- Significant weight savings with our foam mast.
- Simple maintenance, repairs possible, and easily replaceable inserts.
Rigid profile
The profile is supercritical over the entire submerged part of the mast in flight with a length of chord which decreases on the lower part, which greatly reduces the drag. On the other hand, it is more generous and less hollowed out on the upper part to retain thickness over a greater width and thus provide rigidity and dynamism. The thickness remains constant over the entire length of the mast: the layers of carbon fibers run seamlessly from the top plate to the conical base. This brings a lot of rigidity and dynamism in navigation and in pumping. The foil is sharper, more precise and makes driving more explosive. The conical base at the lower end of the mast allows play-free mounting of the mast in the V2 aluminum fuselage. The more you sail, the more it tightens! And with its three screws, you can be sure that nothing will move. The mast / plate play is eliminated since it is in one piece. This guarantees an impeccable quality of piloting. You keep the rigidity and solidity of the V2 aluminum fuselage and its ease of disassembly and transport at a record price
100% carbon prepreg draping
The 100% carbon prepreg draping is a model of its kind. The 50 layers on the mast are distributed in 5 angles to guarantee an incredible dynamism. The return to its initial shape after effort is 4 times faster than on a standard mast.
This huge part is produced in a 400kg mold, handled by powerful lifting tools to protect our workers. More than 4 hours are necessary to arrange all the layers in perfect order. Then comes the moment of closing the mold, always impressive in strength and precision. Finally, it is rolled in the heating press to compress it to 120 tons and bake it at 155 °. A mast of rare rigidity will come out of it. The huge advantage of high-quality carbon is its rigidity. So, it is not necessary to put as much material as with other materials. As a result we enjoy a significant weight loss, almost 30% compared to aluminum. And more significant than the measured weight, the dynamism brings a sensation of liveliness and therefore incredible lightness.
Self-tightening conical fitting
A damaged insert: you can replace it within a few seconds for a few euros. Easy. A bump in the rocks: you repair your mast as you would repair your board. In short, this carbon mast combines lightness and extreme rigidity to tear the spot apart.
Treat yourself with a magnificent and super efficient carbon piece.

Buying guide
For whom?
It is the mast for the most demanding, careful users, fine technicians, because it is the best.
This foil is designed for experienced riders. We therefore invite you to take the greatest care of it and not to equip yourself with it if you are a beginner.
What is it for?
- Its length of 70cm makes it primarily suitable for surf or SUP foiling as it is the ideal compromise between the ability to put angle in curves and the draft. But you can also use it as a kite foil in the waves or as a wing foil on spots with shallow water.
- Its length of 85cm is perfect for wing foiling ….. But you can also use it for kite foiling in the waves or for surf / SUP foiling on the spots with enough water and in downwind.
- Its length of 100cm is intended primarily for wing and kite foiling because it is the ideal compromise to put angle in curves without ventilating, for margins in the maneuvers, the management of the chop and the angle of opposition at high speed.
Which carbon mast size?
Even if everything is possible, we mark here the main uses:
The 70cm:
- In surf / SUP foiling: this is the key size. Absolutely perfect for the pursuit of performance.
- In downwind: excellent choice which brings control and maneuverability.
- In wing foiling: perfect for shallow water spots.
- In kite foiling: useful in waves in shallow water.
The 85cm:
- In surf / SUP foiling: it’s really big when rowing and not very pleasant in rail to rail.
- In downwind: this is the perfect size for a high level of performance.
- In wing foiling: perfect for spots with limited depth, freestyle, jumps, waves and control.
- In kite foiling: useful in waves in shallow water, and very versatile. The size that does it all.
The 100cm:
- In surf / SUP foiling: to forget except to tow in big waves …
- In downwind: it’s a bit too big, very technical.
- In wing foiling: perfect for going fast, never touching the water, maximum performance. Great comfort!
- In kite foiling: perfect for going fast, never touching the water, maximum performance. Great comfort!
Which quiver?
This mast is suitable for all uses but we recommend mounting high performance wings on it to get the best out of it.
Foil positioning?
The more you move it forward, the more the board pitches up. The further you move it backwards, the more the nose of the board dives.
Be careful not to move it too far forward. We often tend not to let the back foot work, especially when we come from kite foiling. However, moving the foil back a little forces more weight on the back foot and gives a more harmonious attitude and reduces the effort.
Equipments
- Screw kit :
- 4 M6x30 torx screws with truss heads for the board.
- 4 washers.
- 4 square nuts for US-box.
- 3 M6x30 torx screws with countersunk heads for the fuselage.

Warning :
The practice of the sport Foil may expose you to serious injury. A poor mastering of Foil may lead to cut, serious injury and/or including death for you and/or others.
Foil should be practiced by taking into consideration all kite user precautions that are associated with the sport Foil. Remember that a Foil is long, cutting, and reaches high speeds. Getting hit by a Foil, or hitting someone/thing can have dramatic consequences.
Always Foil far from others, in a secure and safe waterscape without obstacles.
Foil is most often practiced in light winds which may cease to blow leading you to return to shore by swimming. As a consequence do not overestimate your your strength/capacity : never go further out than your skill and swimming capacities and wind conditions allow.
Always wear a helmet and life vest for floatation. Always wear a full body wetsuit.
When handling the Foil, be careful not to cut yourself along the edges.
GONG is NOT responsable in case of any and all accidents implicating a Foil GONG. The practice of Foil is undertaken under the complete responsability of the Foil User/Practioner.
