Earplugs designed for water sports

SurfEars fits naturally into the GONG universe with earplugs specifically developed for water sports. The brand was born in Sweden after its founder, Christian Dittrich, a surfer and engineer, suffered hearing problems linked to regular exposure to cold water.

His goal was to create protection capable of limiting water entry without isolating the rider from the surrounding environment. After several years of development, SurfEars introduced a solution suited to surfing as well as many activities practised on or in the water.

Protect your ears while staying connected

The key feature of SurfEars earplugs is a hydrophobic acoustic membrane. It limits water entry while allowing good perception of surrounding sounds. This is important for hearing waves, communicating with other riders and staying aware of what is happening around you.

This protection is particularly useful during regular cold-water sessions, helping reduce exposure of the ear canal to water and wind.

SurfEars 4.0: comfort and secure fit on the water

The SurfEars 4.0 generation is designed to combine protection, comfort and durability. Several sizes of silicone tips and wings allow the plugs to be adapted to each ear shape and provide a secure fit during use.

A removable leash connects the two plugs to reduce the risk of losing them in the water. SurfEars can also be used without wings, particularly under a hood or helmet.

An accessory designed for regular riders

Surfing, wing, kite, SUP and foil expose the ears to water, wind and sometimes low temperatures. SurfEars earplugs therefore provide a compact, reusable way to protect your ears without losing contact with your surroundings.

At GONG, SurfEars complements the equipment of riders who want to enjoy sessions all year round. A solution developed by water-sports enthusiasts to stay in the water with greater peace of mind whatever the conditions.
