Kiteboarding wasn’t born yesterday, and neither was GONG. Since the 1990s, we have been living this wind and water revolution day by day. First on adapted surfboards, then on twin tips, followed by foils, foil kites, inflatable kites, with or without boots, we’ve tested everything, explored everything, at the pace of this ever-evolving sport.

Kiteboarding is the freedom of being carried by the wind, propelling yourself in three dimensions, fine-tuning your trajectory to the millimeter, fully expressing yourself in the waves, soaring for spectacular jumps, or gliding smoothly on a foil above the water’s surface. It’s a universe of adrenaline, of endless progression, where everyone builds their own style, their own adventure.

At GONG, our connection to kiteboarding goes back nearly three decades. From the handcrafted production of our precision kites in the early 1990s to modern kiteboarding, it’s just a short step.

As early as 1998, we were shaping our first kiteboards, adapting our expertise from surfing with rockers and hybrid technologies drawn from our high-level experience in windsurfing.

We’ve explored every facet of this sport, accumulating valuable experience: from surfkite on directional boards, to explosive freestyle on twin tips, to kite foiling, which has opened a new dimension of gliding. This passion has driven us to constantly refine our designs, develop more efficient shapes, stronger materials, and a range that now covers all programs, from beginner to pro, from light wind to strong gales, from freeride to waveriding.

Over the years, GONG has grown, initially slowly, with modest means, but always with determination and passion. Today, thanks to impressive growth over the past 15 years, we have substantial resources to offer a range that is unique in the world.

Our ambition is to make kiteboarding accessible to as many people as possible, with an extensive range that meets the expectations of all riders.

At GONG, our passion for nature guides every action we take.

We were the first brand in the world to package our boards without plastic, using 100% recyclable materials.

Our exemplary building, with very low energy consumption, reflects this commitment: beyond being a place dedicated to innovation and showcasing our products, it is also a true tribute to biodiversity. Surrounded by the 400 trees we’ve planted, a forest we’ve preserved, and a pond created for more biodiversity, it serves as a sanctuary for local wildlife.

Our restaurant in this incredible place is eco-certified, and we only serve fresh products prepared on-site.

These costly and demanding choices, are part of our desire to minimize our environmental impact by protecting forests, soils, and animals as much as possible, and by creating a space where humans and nature coexist harmoniously.

This environmental approach goes hand in hand with a product philosophy focused on sustainability.

We design solid, repairable boards that typically have five to seven different owners throughout their life.

Reducing waste, preventing gear from ending up in landfills, and extending the lifespan of products: that’s our credo.

We keep all the components of our products in stock, so they can be repaired for as long as possible.

Our workshop not only repairs GONG products, but also those from other brands, in a spirit of mutual support and respect for resources.
