TECH HIGHLIGHT: THE DOUBLE PROFILE OF THE PULSE RACE ARAMID CZ
Let’s talk about the performance and sensations coming with the double profile concept of our World Champion Marathon Racing wing.
This concept of wide luff which is already known in windsurfing for example and in aeronautics more broadly, had never reached production for winging before GONG found simple and effective technical solutions with the Pulse DP. Developed by our engineers and our Pro Team, this design was born after dozens of specific prototypes and hundreds of hours of digital simulations. Converting a very common idea to a perfect realization takes a lot of dedication. The next level performance reached by this concept owes nothing to chance. Crowned with a World Championship title in Marathon Racing and countless podium finishes in Wingfoil Racing, this flagship model of the range evolved in 2025 into the Pulse Race, now made with Aramid CZ material—lighter and stiffer than ever—while still featuring the double skin that made it so successful.

The theory behind it?

Making it work?
Performance on the water?
Stunning. The performance markers of the Pulse DP are acceleration, stability, heading and speed. Its potential is enormous and was evident from its very first official outing, with heat wins at the World Cup Racing in Brazil. A logical result for anyone who has had a double skin Pulse in their hands. This is the ultimate wing for sitting in harness, gaining speed, and challenging the field on full tilt speed runs.
What is most impressive is this feeling of endless acceleration. The more you accelerate, the more you speed up. It’s like a never ending turbo boost. Needless to say, your max speed is now just a matter of commitment. On this subject, good news, the Pulse Race enjoys remarkable stability at high speed. Sitting in your harness, no disturbance will surprise you in the heat of the action. This is another considerable advantage of this profile which smoothes the flows.
Sailing with a double profile wing is truly unique in this regard. Adding a lot of volume to the intrado of the wing reduces power at standstill and increases it as you speed up. So it pulls a little less right out of the blocks, but the power grows as you accelerate.
