FEEDBACK: HIPE NOTW 8’3
Comparison between the rigid NOTW and its inflatable version by Loïc, who can now store his over-8-foot SUP Foil Downwind board in his trunk!
SUP foiler: Mathieu, GONG team rider, on the HIPE NOTW with a Carbon Pro paddle.
Stability at Standstill
"I’m 1.85m tall and weigh 77kg. I used it with a Curve XXL-H and a Fluid XL-H. Compared to the rigid EPS Pro version I was used to riding, I immediately found my bearings. I was really surprised by its stability when stationary—there’s no loss compared to the rigid board. The pad has great grip, which helps with stability."
Effectiveness of the NOTW Shape
"I really liked the inflatable construction during take-off. It gives confidence and lets you paddle hard even if you're unsure of your paddling technique, without the fear of damaging the board with the paddle. You still get the effective NOTW shape that allows you to catch waves that haven’t broken yet.
In the air, I found it very stiff and light. I had the same footing as on the rigid board, and it was just as efficient for riding! And it’s so easy to pack into the car after the session—awesome!"
