A closer look at the high-modulus carbon technology of the front wings in our Team Series and Pro Team Series ranges.

The Carbon technology in our Team Series and Pro Team Series integrates premium high-modulus Prepreg carbon fibers with a hydrophobic foam core for a structure that is both rigid, dynamic, and durable.

The carbon fiber is crucial for dynamism, offering maximum return speed.

Technical design:

3D shape designed with modeling software.
Hydrodynamic simulation and digital optimization.
Digital simulation of mechanical resistance.
CAD integration accounting for manufacturing constraints.
Mechanical testing on a test rig.
3D digital control.
Aging tests in real conditions.
Tests and validations by our Pro Team.

Production:

5-axis CNC machining of steel molds: precise and non-deformable.
5-axis CNC machining of an additional mold for manufacturing high-density foams.
Foam core production.
CNC cutting of layers and reinforcements.
Assembling the multiple layers and reinforcements onto the Foam Core.
Vacuum compression to remove air.
Thermal molding: a heating process at 150°C and uniform compression at 20 tons with the use of indestructible steel molds for increased durability and peak performance.
Progressive cooling.
CNC trimming.
Ultra-precise finishing.

Wingfoiler: Bastien, GONG team rider, with a Droid Boom, Stunt FSP Pro, HM85 mast and Ypra Surf-Freestyle V3 setup.

Structure and materials:

Fibers oriented in various directions (UD, biaxial, etc.) to control bending and twisting, while managing fatigue.
Prepreg fibers for perfect control of the fiber/resin ratio.
High-density hydrophobic foam core, highly resistant, forming a solid base for lamination. This foam is produced in a specific mold to ensure perfect control over compressions and shapes.

Specific reinforcements:

Sensitive zones reinforced with specific fibers to enhance rigidity and increase durability.
Sandwich connections in the areas where the wings and fuselage connect, ensuring maximum strength and cohesion.
