Our team rider wins the final round of the Wave Tour at Ibiraquera!
In a context where the dice were cast for World Title, Malo, 19, has just secured a prestigious victory at Ibiraquera, the spot which hosted the third and final leg of the Wing Foil Tour dedicated to Wave Riding. After a surprising elimination in Morocco during a nightmare heat where he was only a shadow of his usual self, Malo's hopes for the world title were over, with his main rival, the American Cash Berzolla, only having to win a couple of heats in Brazil to secure the title.
A title officially won on Monday, October 21, during the first day of competition, where Cash showcased sharp and precise surfing. He was the first to break the 16-point barrier, and in the third round against Camille Bouyer, he secured his crown with a score of 13.37, officially crowning him the 2024 champion! The triumph of an 18-year-old prodigy, who, like Malo, captures everyone's attention when he's on a wave.

Wingfoiler: Malo, GONG team rider, with a Lethal FSP Pro, Droid UPE Aramid X, HM85 mast, Fluid H V3 and Surf-Freestyle V3 stab.
Best performer of the event
On his side, Malo was back in top form with scores exceeding 16 points, and eventually breaking the 17-point mark. The long-awaited face-to-face with Cash, already seen in Cape Verde and hoped for in Morocco, seemed inevitable. However, Axel Gerard's impressive performance in the 4th round ended Cash's run, preventing the showdown.
In the following heats, Malo put on a masterclass. On his Lethal, whose lines are ever so close to an actual shortboard, his commitment on the rail is total, with an impressively fluid sequence of turns. It’s fast, no section is spared, and you could count on several 360s by the end of the wave. He easily qualifies for the final, which he wins against Axel Gerard, with the best score of the event for a single wave and a total of 17.10.
A superb victory for Malo, achieved in style, which promises a thrilling 2025 season on this Tour where Cash and all the up-and-coming forces will no doubt make for another great show.
