Our team rider crowned at the Para Surfing World Championships in the sit category at Huntington Beach.

Guillaume Colin has become famous in our community for having paved the way for people with disabilities in wing foiling. Last weekend, he wrote his name in the sports history books by becoming Para Surfing World Champion in the sit category. After his silver medal in 2022 and his fourth place last year, Guillaume won the title he'd been dreaming of in beautiful 1m waves rolling under the famous pier of the surf city south of Los Angeles.

The Montpellier native shone in the absence of three-time defending Brazilian champion Felipe Lima, confirming his status as favorite. Right from the two qualifying rounds, he showed that he had come for no other purpose than winning the title, displaying a very high level of surfing.

In the final, he quickly moved into the lead with a score of 16 points thanks to a left and a right-hander. Then waiting patiently for the wave with the highest potential, Guillaume seized the opportunity in the last seconds: a long right, surfed with a precision that earned him a near-perfect score of 9.93 out of 10.

Guillaume's reaction to this victory:Super happy to have taken part for the 3rd time in the para surfing world championship. It's an absolute smash for me this year, with my first individual title in the sit category, and a second consecutive team title, it's crazy!  The competition ran perfectly for me, both in the qualifying heats and in the final, where I quickly managed to take the lead with two waves, then strategically managed the rest of the heat at the peak with the priority. So I was feeling confident, right up until a last-minute wave that gave me one of my best scores ever, and a perfect finish to the competition. It was magical!”

Huge success for Guillaume, whom we congratulate wholeheartedly for being an all-around champion!
