From April 4 to 6, the beach at Almanarre hosted the Roca Cup, a wing foil event that celebrates boardsports, the sea, and above all—sharing!
For the 2025 edition of the Roca Cup, our team rider Guillaume Colin had the privilege of being the event's guest of honor. A role that suited him perfectly. His journey is an inspiration to enthusiasts from all walks of life—especially in the world of board sports, where he stands out not only for his achievements (including a world championship title in para surfing and a remarkable progression in wing foiling), but also for his generosity and exemplary spirit. His personality aligns beautifully with the philosophy of this event, as Guillaume explains in his introduction.

This event serves as a showcase for the sports we love, featuring Race competitions in lowkite and wing foiling, pumping, and freestyle—where another GONG team rider made a big splash.
Lou Thouin took first place in the wing foil Freestyle event, first in dock start, second in flat start, and made it onto the podium in lowkite—a discipline he's just starting to explore. He shares how this action-packed weekend unfolded, with back-to-back races in lowkite and wing foiling, plus pumping and flat start challenges:
“The competition started on Friday with offshore winds around 15 knots all day.
We kicked off in the morning with short lowkite races to introduce this new sport. I finished 3rd, behind Balz Müller and Charles Deleau. I was using a lowkite Plus 4m, Fluid XS, Ypra Surf-Freestyle S stabilizer, mounted on a Stunt FSP Pro 4’5.
In the afternoon, we had a synchronized freestyle wing foil contest, which I won with Marius Laffargue. I used my usual gear—Droid Aramid combo, Ypra Surf-Freestyle foil setup, and my Stunt FSP Pro.
On day two, we began with wing foil racing in light winds (~10 knots). I finished 7th out of 80 with my freestyle gear. The wind died off in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Med Gliders organized a downwind competition, so we switched to flat start races, where I finished 2nd and 3rd. I used the Intruder EPS Pro 8’6, with a Veloce H L front wing and a Fluid L stabilizer.
On the final day, still no wind, so we held a dock start freestyle contest, which I won using the Kluber + Veloce HL and Fluid L stabilizer.”
