The Dominican kite foil specialist took second place at the Hydrofoil Big Air event in Brazil, behind the indomitable Charles Brodel, who won his sixth title.
Equipped with a brand-new GONG kite quiver for 2024, Alex Soto has gained momentum in the end of this Hydrofoil Big Air championship. Showing great form in recent weeks with the double skin Ayto Aramid DP with which he sends loop after loop in training, Alex had a great final event in Brazil.
He made it through the first few rounds without a hitch and was joined in the final by Antonin Rangin, Finn Flügel and Charles Brodel. Despite several solid tricks, Rangin fell behind in the final against a Flügel who kept up the pressure right to the end with a 7.03 for a Contraloop Backroll. Alex Soto got the better of him at the end of the heat with a 7.23 for a Contraloop Backroll, ranking him second behind Charles Brodel, who scored a massive 9.13 for a Contraloop Frontroll Boardoff.
An indisputable victory for the Frenchman, who wins his sixth world title, with Alex Soto as runner-up in 2024. We look forward to another season of spectacular kite foiling jumps and tricks in 2025!
