Long restricted by socio-cultural barriers, sports women often have had, and unfortunately still have, a hard time finding their place in the sports world, board sports being no exception. Reserved for boys or deemed too physical, there is no shortage of bad reasons to dissuade young girls from doing a particular sport. Fortunately things are changing little by little and schools are seeing more gender diversity than ever. There are more girls being introduced to water sports every year.
