The GONG team is counting a new talent in wing foiling among his ranks with the arrival of the young gun Lou Thouin!
Only 15 years old, Lou, who has been an active GONG ambassador for many years already, joins a GONG team with two reigning world champions in the under 16s and 19s whose exceptional trajectories he hopes to follow. His enormous motivation, his devotion to everything related to boardsports and his recent results in competition are among the many reasons that convinced GONG to give him every chance to succeed in his mission.

A collaboration which is none other than an evolution that has been in the making for a long time. Among the Thouin family, boardsports are a family affair that has gone hand in hand with GONG for more than 10 years. Lou’s parents, Jess and Boris, have been long time users of our products and transmitted their passion for water sports to their children. To them, sessions are about gathering the fam and sharing good times on the water as Boris explained to us in this interview last year.

Based in Hyères in the south-east of France, Lou started winging in the summer of 2019 and discovered surf foiling and SUP foiling in the process. These new ways of making the most of the conditions were a godsend for the young surf fan that he is, as it was for his parents ;). Days spent on the water went through the roof and it showed in Lou’s level on the water. Last year, at 14, he won the Grand Prix de l’Almanarre among juniors and finished fifth overall.
He has since then been on a roll with a third place at the Outdoor Mix Festival of Brest a few weeks back in the Youth category and this weekend he did it again with a second place at the Jaï Wing Classic which is part of the Wing Tour Région Sud. In the second part of the season, he’ll attend the events that his high school schedule allows him to:
- Carnon (34), as part of the GWA national events on the 16th and 17th of September ;
- Épreuve Tour Région Sud in Saint tropez (83) on the 21th and 22nd October ;
- Grand Prix de l’Almanarre(83) from the 26th to the 29th October.
