NEWS: THE TEAM HITS THE ROAD FOR DANEMARK!

A van loaded with young talents and equipment set off from the GONG Space Center this afternoon to reach Denmark where the next stage of the Wing Foil World Tour will take place!

After intense weeks of competition in the Canary Islands, the best wing foilers in the world will come together in the northern latitudes of Hvide Sande. The exposure of this spot facing the North Sea could offer very good conditions for the event! So far the forecast looks promising in terms of wind and waves! The conditions could completely reshuffle the cards in the Surf-Freestyle category, whose ranking was established exclusively on Freestyle so far due to a lack of waves during the first part of the season.

GONG team riders: Bastien, Clément, Julien and Malo.

What’s at stake in Denmark?

Everything! 🙂 The tension will be going through the roof, surely in FreeFly-Slalom as it will be the penultimate event with for the moment 3 competitors in a very close battle. Our team rider Bastien Escofet, Titouan Galea and Francesco Cappuzzo are only separated by a handful of points. Whoever will finish ahead in Denmark will have a solid option for the title because each competitor is entitled to a discard over the entire season.

In Surf-Freestyle, the reigning world champion, Malo Guénolé, has lost ground to his rival for the title in the Canaries. He must turn the tide in Denmark to stay in the race. He has the repertoire, the motivation and displays the form to get it done! He is coming off a victory in the Wave event in Brazil in conditions he loves. The conditions in Denmark should keep his momentum high.

Follow our team riders present in Denmark, Sofia, Malo, Bastien, Julien and Clément, from September 3 to September 9 live on the WGA website and in our magazine.
