We are pleased to welcome a new young gun in the GONG team!
Clément Hamon, who just turned 15, already has a solid 3 years experience in winging and huge results at the highest level. Last year, he rubbed shoulders with the world elite on the GWA tour in the Surf-Freestyle category, where he finished in a very promising 15th place among adults. In the last event of the year, he even scored a 5th place finish behind a quartet of top guns including both the former and the new world champion of the discipline! That same year, this time in the U16 division, he won a place on the final podium in Surf-Freestyle and Surf-Slalom.

Originally from Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, only 15 minutes from the GONG Space Center, Clément is a jack-of-all-trades who never misses an opportunity to get in the water. Be it in wing foiling, surf foiling, SUP foiling or dock starts, flying and sending it is what matters. An enthusiasm that will carry him to the events of the Wing Foil Tour where his objectives are to progress at each event, to step on podiums and to beat the best.

How was your visit to the GSC?
“I’m super happy to have joined the GONG team. The GONG Space Center is just amazing. All the equipment is super well displayed and everyone was super nice to me. Not to mention the restaurant which is sooo good. It is a unique place.”
What is your competition program this year?
“Last year I participated in all events and I hope to do the same this year. In July there is the Youth World Cup and two more stages of the GWA, again in the Canaries.”
Who are your idols on the tour?
“I don’t really have an idol, but of course I like Malo for his fluid style, his amplitude and also his radicality in surfing. Balz Muller remains one of the most technical and innovative riders with exemplary motivation, smiles and generosity. Bastien Escofet is also super strong with always a powerful style and a sick amplitude.
What GONG gear did you choose for competing?
In wing foiling, the Neutra UPE is just perfect in comfort/rigidity/stability/power. My unique board is a Lethal 4’4. For the moment I train with Ypra S front wings in XS & S for the race category. In freestyle I am currently on the Ypra S in sizes S or M, with an HM 85 mast and the new Pro Freestyle stabs.
