HOW TO : surfoil take-off !!!

I would like to draw your attention to this key moment in the practice of Surfoil because it conditions all the rest.
First you need the right spot : enough water, nobody in front or behind, a wave that raises or unfurls (but why not just surf if the wave unfurls ?).
Next you have two options : 1/ Start off with the foam not far from the shoulder : real easy, the wave pushes you, you hold on the rails, and you get up at the bottom of the wave after the storm passes. Make the boots and you re-connect with the section. 2/ Start off on the curl : more technical because the Foil will want to lift right when you want to pop up. Patience must be rigorous when elevating and you must really hold on and not let the Foil take off ahead of you. If that happens, guaranteed fall with you and the Foil in the washing machine : enjoy that… I’ve noticed a few cruicial points when watching Béryl : – he is very selective when choosing his waves and he does it well. – he’s positioned right where he need to be, 3m2 max. – he takes his time. – he flattens out his lead hand on the pad instead of along the rail like the other hand. This allows him to keep the Foil straight and ease the placing of his front leg correctly. Time for you to try. Advisor : Patrice Guénolé et GONG Surfboards.
