HOW TO : RIDING ON YOUR KNEES !!!

Because our role has been, and always will be, to accompany you throughout your progress, we have created a How To section for everything related to the practice of the Wing. From the most basic to the most radical moves, you will find everything you need to understand and improve your technique.
You have enough water to pass the Foil without touching. There is no obstacle in front of you, underwater or downwind.
Be careful, riding on your knees is a transition stage between stopping and standing in navigation. You must not go hundreds of meters on your knees. You risk wearing out your knees and this kneeling ride is a sign of great hesitation and fear of falling.
Relax, falling is useful and not serious. The more you fall, the more you progress.
So yes, for ten meters on your knees, no for a hundred meters.
Get on your knees on the Board, first sideways, then one knee behind each front strap, facing the nose with one foot on each side of the back strap.
We advise you not to stay sideways because you will have less control and you will be less in line to stand up properly. So, stand facing the nose or almost facing it. And above all don’t rub your knees on the pad: guaranteed skin burn because the pad’s job is to hold on! Move your knees if you need to lift them up, and don’t twist them on the pad either.
You are now stabilized; you will be able to start up your Wing.
If you lose your balance use the buoyancy of the Wing. It’s a real second floatation device, think about it.
Take note of these points:
- If you move the Wing towards the nose, the Board will bear away and go downwind (which you don’t usually want).
- If you move the Wing backwards towards the tail, the Board luffs up into the wind (which stops your drift).

- If you move the Wing towards the nose, the Board will bear away and go downwind (which you don’t usually want).
- If you move the Wing backwards towards the tail, the Board luffs up into the wind (which stops your drift).

- Good orientation of the Wing.
- Don’t let yourself drift too long (react quickly).
- Do not force: use the wind.
- Place your knees and your belongings next to the straps.
- Use the Wing to take its course and keep it.
- Let go of the Wing if it gets caught in the water.
