GEAR: THE XIGGY ENTERS THE SUP FOIL RANGE!
Discover the new compact shape for SUP foil, Lowkite, and Wing.
Inspired by the shape of the Biggy—which itself comes from the NOTW—the Xiggy offers a more compact and very comfortable version. It was designed for a surf-oriented practice while maintaining the ease, glide, comfort, and lift that are the strengths of its big sister. It comes in 7 sizes, from 75 to 135 liters, to suit all rider sizes and styles.
Compared to the Biggy, the Xiggy is shorter and wider, which gives it more maneuverability when paddling, while still offering generous lift and solid overall balance. This also makes it more versatile across all the disciplines that a foil board can be used for:
- In SUP Foil Surf, this is THE board to progress with in larger sizes, and to perform with when you have more experience and go for a smaller volume. It’s a surfer that shines with its maneuverability while remaining accessible.
- In SUP Foil Downwind or flat starts, it offers a different set of qualities than the specialized boards like the NOTW, Intruder, and Fner. Takeoffs require more explosiveness, but it makes up for it with the kind of responsiveness you’ll love in flight and when pumping.
- In Lowkite, it has ideal dimensions for stability, easy takeoff, and bump-to-bump connection in freefly mode. Locked into the straps, harness in place, you’ll head upwind and be ready to go again!
- In Wing, it’s perfect for light wind conditions, with lightning-fast takeoffs, record-level stability for this type of shape, and a lightness that’s especially enjoyable for a wing board.
A Range of SUP Foil Boards with Two Approaches
There are two approaches to takeoff: pop or glide. So-called “Poppers” boards, like the Xiggy and the Sner, primarily use pumping energy to generate an explosive takeoff at low speed. In contrast, “Gliders” boards, like the Biggy, the NOTW, the Intruder, and the Fner, optimize glide and speed buildup to enable a smooth and natural takeoff.
“Poppers” boards are equipped with inserts and footstraps, which can be used to maximize explosive power at takeoff with even more energy. This is also a great advantage in lowkite, as it lets you place your feet easily and pump more effectively on the foil at takeoff. With “Gliders,” it’s all about finesse in foot placement and rapid acceleration on the bumps.
