- In SUP foil downwind or flat start, its sleek outline delivers performance close to its bigger sisters—the NOTW, Intruder, and Fner—in a more accessible shape.
- In SUP foil surf, it’s an easy and stable board that lets you catch waves from far out. It doesn’t have the agility of a Sner or a Xiggy, but makes up for it with great glide at takeoff.
- In lowkite, its generous dimensions are reassuring for first sessions. Takeoffs are effortless with this shape. Plus, its out-of-flight stability is valuable in sketchy wind conditions.
- In wing foil, it’s the board that will let you fly in ultra-light conditions while maintaining great stability.
A Range of SUP Foil Boards with Two Approaches
There are two approaches to takeoff: pop or glide. So-called “Poppers” boards, like the Xiggy and the Sner, primarily use pumping energy to generate an explosive takeoff at low speed. In contrast, “Gliders” boards, like the Biggy, the NOTW, the Intruder, and the Fner, optimize glide and speed buildup to enable a smooth and natural takeoff.
“Poppers” boards are equipped with inserts and footstraps, which can be used to maximize explosive power at takeoff with even more energy. This is also a great advantage in lowkite, as it lets you place your feet easily and pump more effectively on the foil at takeoff.
With “Gliders,” it’s all about finesse in foot placement and rapid acceleration on the bumps.
