The Indra is the mid-length that’s ready to challenge the shortboards in your quiver!

Versatile shape:
-
Round Tail: This tail provides smooth glide and seamless maneuverability, without any abrupt breaks or disruptions. The board delivers tight turns on demand, effortlessly adjusting the turn radius mid-arc. Clean carves without compromising trajectory. Perfect for chaining precise lines with plenty of freedom and spontaneity in your trajectories.
-
Moderate rocker: With a slightly pronounced rocker at the nose, the Indra is forgiving, making it ideal for a wide range of waves—small to medium, clean or windy, sluggish or slabby, etc.
Efficient paddling and takeoff:
The moderate width at the shoulders allows the board to paddle quickly and catch waves early. It offers a very fluid feel from the paddle, enabling extremely early takeoffs on the waves.
Impressive performance:
The Indra blends the agility of a shortboard with the speed and glide of a mid-length. It picks up speed quickly in fast sections and transitions smoothly from rail to rail.

Fin Setup: A key role
The fin setup completely transforms the behavior of the Indra:
Deep and thin single fin (8'' to 9''): This configuration encourages smoother, more controlled turns and less speed, making it perfect for riders seeking stability rather than quick acceleration. A marginal option.
2+1 (7'' or 8'' center fin + small side fins): Perfect for a versatile and intuitive board while maintaining control. Ideal for all types of waves, offering accessible glide and solid performance. An allround choice.
Slightly oversized tri-fin: The most dynamic setup for the Indra. With three fins of similar size (like FCS HI), the board reacts quickly, accelerates in every section, and shines in roundhouses, critical sections, and strong turns. An exciting choice!

Which length?
When selecting a mid-length board, we suggest that intermediate to experienced surfers go for a board 10’’ longer than their height, while beginners to intermediate surfers should opt for a board that is 12’’ or more longer.
A beginner surfer who is progressing will choose an Indra of 7' or more, depending on their size. The length will greatly help maximize the number of waves caught and boost their progression. The length will also be an advantage in small conditions. At GONG, the sizes are optimized with progressive volumes (approximately every 5L).
From 6'6 to 8'0, four sizes are available to help you find an option that meets your needs:
- 6'6: Perfect if you want a mid-length that keeps outstanding maneuverability.
- 7'0: Perfect for maximizing glide and making take-off easier, especially if you prefer a more relaxed style.
- 7'6 and 8'0: Great options for emphasizing high paddling speed and simplifying the drop to the maximum. These two lengths provide plenty of glide.
To sum up
The Indra is a board that combines the glide and ease of a mid-length with performance that rivals that of a shortboard. It's the perfect board to progress and have fun in a variety of waves.
